Look at the website before going / planning your trip. They are open on Sundays also, unlike most breweries in Wisconsin. If you are doing a brewery tour you should call each brewery ahead of time. Many breweries in Wisconsin are closed or out of business. Also, information found from public sources isn't always accurate; i.e. Internet white pages.., etc

Tours are free and so is parking. The tour starts at the Leinie lodge here you register for the tour, receive passes for tastings and can purchase all kinds of branded gear.  Like any branded material it can beexpensive.  The lodge also has restrooms available to the public.  I think the tours operate every half hour. Photography is only allowed outside of the factory. Tours go pretty quickly and better if you have a seasoned tour master. Most of their dialogue is textbook, you'll know what I mean if you listen to the jokes told during. Best parts for me; getting to see the cooling or storage tanks. Enormous refrigerated spaces holding a massive amount of different Leinenkugel lines. Walking around admiring the workmanship of the nuts and bolts that keep the factory running. It was told that if the line goes down, they have to get parts sent from Germany! All the parts are original. Pretty wild when we have industrial parts distributors in every state. At the end of the tour they take you for a walk through the many product lines that Leinie has to offer. Here I hoped to get to taste many of the flavors we are unlikely to see in Chicago. Different lines / flavors can be specially ordered by your local bar, restaurant. After the tour you are returned to the lodge where the tasting portion of the tour begins. Here there are only a few lines available for tasting, like Red, Honey Weiss and a few seasonal's. You have two drink coupons so use them wisely, when I visited they had a special seasonal called Creamy dark. (I haven't found this flavor yet in Chicago and no matter how many bar managers I've spoken to I haven't been able to get some of it.) For an interesting taste try Honey Weiss mixed with Berry Weiss, a ladies choice.
The suck is that you can only taste two flavors and in a small 4 oz glass. Tasting passes cannot be purchased. Soda and water are free. They say the reasoning for not allowing more tastings or selling them has to do with competing with their local distributors. That reasoning sounds like a big can of BS. But, if you had paid any attention to the signs on the drive up here or on your way back, you would know that almost every bar, lounge or restaurant has bad ass deals on Leinie beers. Bridgewater restaurant and pub for example had this deal of 22oz beers for $2.50.. I knew I should've bought Creamy Dark in Wi. AArgh.

What an awesome tour and it was free! You get to see quite a bit of the brew making process at Leinekugel's. Our tour guide wasn't the best, but we still loved the tour.

Be sure to head to Olson's for some ice cream afterwards!

leinies = my favorite beer.

berryweiss, summer shandy, big butt, honeyweiss, red, their fall apple one...
you can't go wrong!

unless, of course, you're talking about sunset wheat, which i think tastes like blueberry perfume.  ick.  now that miller's started distributing for leinies, tho, we finally get some of the good ones out here on the east coast!  keep 'em comin - especially the berryweiss and summer shandy!  and if i can find big butt out here in fall/winter, i may just wet myself in excitement... it tastes like toast!

You cannot go through Chippewa Falls or Eau Claire, WI and skip Leinie's.  This place is a beer drinkers heaven.  The brewery tour is very well done with people steeped in pride of their hometown brew.

You'll probably unknowingly run into one of the Leinenkugel family when visiting the "Leinie Lodge."  This place has every outdoor item you could want....honestly, beer bottle cap spinning walleye bait?!?!?

Although it's great for tourists, this isn't a touristy little trap.  They actually produce some excellent beer!  My "Farveorite" has to be Honeyweiss, but Sunset Wheat is also terrific.  If you like Killian's Red then you'll love Leinie's Red.  It's got a much fuller flavor.

There aren't any appetizers or food served here so make sure to grab a bite on the way in or out.  There are plently of good local options.

This place was designed to quench the thirst of the local loggers so you can imagine their full bodied beers are much more of a priority than the ultra-light low carb crap in the grocery store.  Thanks Jake!
