1096 Boylston StHynes Convention Ctr/ica (Green)
This review is just from one walk-in. The reason I give this place 5 stars is because they had tension screws for a DW-5000. Nobody carries extra lugs or tension rods friggin anywhere. Shitty's Crappy Music doesn't carry them, Retard Center doesn't have them, and neither does Sam's Ass for that matter. In fact, they've got parts for just about anything, which is awesome because I always lose parts for shit. The people there are very nice and love to talk drums.

This is an easy shop to love. They're an independent business, the staff know what the hell is up, the shop is packed with excellent percussion equipment, and they don't bat an eyelash or shoo you into a closet when you want to play a cymbal for half an hour before buying it. They will order almost anything for you if it's not already there. The seasoned and the clueless are treated with equal respect and attention -- they love to talk drums.
I buy 18" Wuhan chinas at Guitar Center, because GC is stupid enough to sell a replacement warranty for $10 and I ruin Wuhans in about two hours. Everything else I buy at Jack's.
EPILOGUE: Jack's closed shortly after the New Year in 2008. Rumor has it the building was sold. I am told there exists a Jack's in Hyannis, but I know nothing else.

Awesome drum shop, I have been here a few times with friends and they never scold you for trying out the products. A friend of mine bought an awesome Yamaha set...the guys that work there are very friendly and know what they are talking about. Good selection for all your drumming needs.
Ive been going here before the designers of Yelp have been wanking their own chains. This place is the only shop to go to for pro equipment.
To shop there; Have good attitude-transportation and Jacks Pro-gear and you'll be rocking drummers row at Berklee in no time, aw right there Neil Peart.
Greg is the man to see. (Steel Assasin baby!)
This place is for the serious drummer.
A wide selection of many different kits, cymbals, etc. and unlike some chain stores, they don't blink twice when you actually, you know, want to TRY OUT the kit you'll be paying over a thousand dollars for.
The people who work there are usually very knowledgable about the equipment, though you will get the occasional Berklee College student who is too busy pointing his nose to the sky to take you seriously. This is the exception rather than the rule, though.
