Their Lemoncello with ginger ale is amazing and onion rings will melt in your mouth.  I will be coming back regularily especially now that they have new owners that care about the service and quality of their food.  Very attentive to the needs of their customer and open to suggestions without being defensive or getting offended.  I felt so appreciated as a customer.  I can't wait for the new adjustments to the recipes for their menu of food & drink!!!

Well....hmmmm....what to say??  First time in just sat at the bar and had one beer to see if it was the place for us to watch Sunday football.  Lots of tv's, they play all the games.  So it seemed ok.
Went for Sunday and tv's are hard to see in certain spots, had to move, took forever to get service.  Once we did it was fine and all the bar staff and servers are nice.
Just not the greatest place.   The food was good, but nothing great.

We went to Jack's last night because I was craving nachos and we live just down the street. I'd been here a few years ago but couldn't remember the food. We ordered drinks and the server got my fiance's drink wrong. When he let her know that she brought him the wrong drink, she just looked at him blankly and awkwardly. So we said we'd make do and she left. The drink wasn't what he wanted, so he tried to flag her down to get a Sprite, but she either ignored us or didn't see us.

The food was okay. It took quite awhile and there were only a handful of us in the place at dinnertime. I've had better nachos (heck, I could even make better nachos) but it was close to home. I might go back for something else at some point, but I'm in no hurry.

Jacks is in a strange location next to a vet and a waxing business, in a strip mall. It has a good layout inside for a sports pub with lots of TV's, arcade games, a modern juke box, etc. It is clean and well maintained. The bar is tucked in the back and the rest of the floor space is open. The atmosphere is dimly lit and slightly noisy. About what one should expect from a sports pub.

The beer was standard Northwest selections, nothing to write home about. Menu was longer than I expected and the appetizers were hot and fresh. Again, typical pub fare.

Service was friendly but slow. There was not much of a crowd, so I am not sure where she kept dissappearing to.

Plenty of free parking. Nothing remarkable here but it is a good place to hang out at if you are in the area and looking for a beer.

They (yelp) took my original review down.  I have a notion that it's because I wasn't very nice.  Let's all be clear:  the food is mediocre, the service is garbage and the drinks are...   disappointing.  I'm a local,  I've been to this place several times and they always send me home angry.

I really really want to like this place.  It's within walking distance of my house.  They bring in some really good local bands.  I even have friends who play in some of these bands.  However, the service is so atrocious that I just can't handle it anymore.

One star because it's the lowest rating I can give them.

Jack's is a long-time Renton dining institution now open in a new location.

While it on the surface appears to be a standard sports bar further inspection reveals this as an homage, albeit with a full bar and kitchen service, to Renton's great and near great sports teams and athletes.  Of course, the irony is not lost on me as I devoured a BBQ burger dip and fries, gazing upon photos of the gazelles of the 1990s RHS cross country team.  The most notable athlete's memorabilia is of Renton's Boone "Boom-Boom" Kirkman, a boxer, who once fought George Foreman.

Jack's is 110% better than it was when it was located on Sunset Boulevard (SR 900).  The old location was a greasy spoon with nicotine stained walls and a menu and fry oil that was largely unchanged for several decades.  The new location borrows from establishments like the Ram (Bighorn Brewery?) or other sports themed bar and grills.  Add to this mix a menu with HUGE salads (Elaine from Seinfeld would like these big salads) and traditional sandwich, steak and chicken offerings.  Oh, and you can bring kids too.  The kids menu has kid-friendly items like PB&J, pizza, and chicken strips, amongst other things.  My 4-year-old exclaimed the pizza sauce was very good and asked if she could come back here on her birthday!

I don't remember the wait staff from the old Jack's but the servers at the new location are fantastic.  Attentive and friendly.

A great stop after dinner or lunch here is the new Renton park around the corner from here.  It's called Heritage Park http://rentonwa.gov/li... and has a great play area for kids and a loop walking path around the perimeter.  Our whole family liked climbing on the rock climbing area.  The park is just a couple blocks south (on Union Avenue) of the NE 4th and Union Avenue intersection on the right hand (west) side of the street.

Dinner for two adults, two kids, and beverages, tax, and ~20% tip was $48.

    Jack's.
It was a snowin', the wind was a blowin',
and yet I was hopin', (that you'd still be opin').
Shelter from the storm, (a good first impression).
Everything was closed; (you taught them a lesson).
Now I come back, (greeted by one-eyed Jack),
and I command my drinks, (to the waitress on crack).
I enjoy those times, and gladly spend dimes, (on beers and wines).
Oh Jack's you'll find, is full of good times.

I really love Jack's a lot. It's a great neighborhood bar with good friends, good food, and staff. I just wish they could do a better job attracting some crowds on the weekends. Sometimes there's barely a soul in this place. I hope they  figure out some ways to beef up the headcount inside. More live music and better karaoke attendance would help. The ribs are crazy good, and are half off on Thursdays, which gives you a pretty amazing meal for just $5.

I'm almost embarrassed to say I went here.

A friend I haven't seen in nearly 7 years lives right around the corner and conned me into coming DEEP into the city of Renton to have drinks at Jack's Grill.

The bar was empty, sad, and depressing.

Single people were sitting at the bar eating and playing  those bar computer screen games.

Apparently, friends I was with are regulars since they were offered their usual shots along with their beer.

Bonus: they serve Mac and Jacks.

Asked: "Do you have any specials?"

Reply: "Uh...we don't really have specials."

    Ok

Ordered: burger/fries. Asked for ranch/bbq sauce, it came in little plastic cups. Nothing to rave or rant about on the food quality.

The venue is huge and I promptly excused myself once Karaoke was getting set up.

There's no way in hell I would ever return here - I don't mind sports bars; perhaps I'm just not a fan of the city of Renton. Forgive me if I sound like a Bellevue snob. Trust me, I can hang in a dive bar.

3 stars for: venue space, decent bar service, and huge menu items.

I hear the venue is packed on Friday and Saturday nights..but I don't plan on finding out.

Went there for the first time with a buddy about couple months ago and was watching a soccer game their, boy was a blast.

The server was there right away to take our drinks and give us time to let us decide what to eat. After all that was done, they would check up on us every 10-15 minutes too see if we needed anything else. A great and friendly place, nice down-to-earth employees.

Food was great, hot wings were good and my burger was done medim well just right and tasted phenomenal, tender as I have ever had it.

Another great place to hang out and catch a good game, whether it be basketball, baseball, soccer, etc.

I've never had a good experience in this bar. I keep trying it because I live within walking distance and was really super excited to be able to frequent a drinking establishment I could walk home from...

But alas, I will never return to Jack's. And I continue to fervently hope that it flounders and fails in this economy and is replaced by a bar that actually values its customer base.

The first time I tried Jack's was with a group of 4 or 5 friends. We sat in area of tables near the bar. The waitress was slow and rude. She forgot my friends food altogether, spilled a shot of Jaeger all over me, didn't know what they had on tap and acted like she would rather be just about anywhere than where she was, serving us.

I'm a firm believer in sometimes people just have bad days, so we went back. We were ignored for quite awhile and were just about to get up and leave when someone finally showed up to take our orders. (It was not even kind of busy, there was no excuse for this.) Once the food was delivered, our waitress was removed from existence. We did not all have silverware and had to get up and track someone (not our original server) down just for the ability to eat our food! We all would have enjoyed drink refills, but our server didn't show up again until she brought us our check. At this point, we were still trying to salvage the time spent here and were going to get a few more drinks, but she dropped the check, took our glasses and left. Frustrated, we decided just to move on to another bar.

And after all this is said and done, THE FOOD WAS NOT THAT GOOD. Perhaps they should change it in to one of those theme restaurants where they treat you horribly as part of their business plan. They could be REALLY successful at that.

Great food & service!  I like this Renton local bar.  They have $3 beers on Tues/Fri which is a great deal...may even be $2!  Good service and just a fun chill place with pool & a juke box!  Only downside is they took down ALL the old Renton Memorabilia.  I'm 28 and I remember this place (over by the old Baskin Robins on Sunset!) from when I was a kid - but recently they took down all the old decor, newpaper articles, and things that made this place a museum-like gem!  But they have mannys, which is a HUGE plus!

LOVED our brunch at Jack's today....  great specials (I had a philly cheesesteak scramble-- YUMO !!)..  I was a bit nervous about the service after reading the other reviews...but maybe their server was having an off day because our service was EXCELLENT !!!     If you want a great breakie-- this is the place to go-- we'll be back !

Didn't have a good experience. Place was dirty, staff was unfriendly, food was terrible. I give them two stars because the drink I had was strong and made well. It's just a shame the waitstaff seemed like they would rather be anywhere else in the world then helping us. My friends and I came in looking for a good time and willing to spend money to have it, but instead we left after only one round.

I am basing this on the total experience that I have had on multiple occasions. I enjoy the pool tables and dart boards. Lots of t.v.'s to oogle at which never hurts. The bartenderes are always great and sure know how to earn a tip. Good prices whether it be food or brew. The only reason they aren't a star up is the food taste. Some bars are great at making food and some aren't. A sports bar should ALWAYS make a good pizza and not have it taste and look like a totino's frozen pizza.
