I had lasik surgery 6 years ago, and needed to get my eyes checked annually, so I decided to give Dr. Jackman a try.
I was very impressed on how comprehensive the eye exam was, the entire procedure took almost 2 hours and there was no wait! Comparing to other optometrists I've been to, they usually only take 30min for the exam including dilation of pupils.
Dr. Jackman took the time to exam and explain to me about the cause for my dry eyes, and how often times oil glands get clogged, she suggested remedies for improving this condition. After dilating my eyes, she also found a "freckle" in my left eye, which non of my other optometrists ever mentioned before. So, she insisted on doing more tests, without charging me extra out of pocket!
I would definitely recommend Dr. Jackman to anyone who needs an eye exam. The only con is that the office is difficult to find. If memory serves me right, it's located in building F, in the back side of the building. -

Dr. Jackman is awesome! She's an expert on everything that's going on right now with eye health and gave me some great options to see better. I opted for a regular new pair of glasses. She's patient, explains everything so you understand it and she's very thorough. Great experience!

I found Dr. Jackman on yelp when I was searching for a good optometrist for a specific type of vision correction called Ortho-k. It's a treatment for people who do not like to wear glasses or to risk a permanent damage from LASIK.
At first I was unsure about this kind of treatment because I've only heard of a friend who has had it. I scheduled a consultation appoitment with Dr. Jackman and went all the way from LA to OC. They have a nice little waiting area with puzzle toys for kids and they just recently expanded the back for another waiting area. The whole place is bright and cozy which helps me to relax every time I go there.
I brought up my problem with normal soft lenses and how I do not want to wear glasses and would like to try Ortho-k. She examined my eyes and explained the pros and cons of each type of treatment that I can consider (she can also refer you to a good LASIK doctor if you need one). After the consultation, she did not push me into decision on the spot but gave me some informative materials on Ortho-k and price with several payment options for my reference.
With Ortho-k treatment, you need to commit to several doctor visits to ensure the lenses fit nicely. Dr. Jackman is extremely patient and helpful in each session. Unlike some doctors I've seen, she does not try to rush the sessions to get as many patient as possible; instead, my sessions often exceed the appointment time slot because she is very thorough. She is a perfectionist and called me back even after I settled onto one pair of lenses because she felt I can get better results than what I had already.
All in all, I would highly recommend Dr. Jackman to anybody who needs an optometrist. -

Janice was awesome! They did some tests on me that I've never had an optometrist do before. They picked up some things with my eyes that will TOTALLY improve my vision as well as my reading comprehension...which I didn't even know was affected by my eyesight!!!
The time and care was there during my entire visit and I am recommending all my friends to Jackman Optometry. -

Jackman Optometry Above and Beyond Customer Service and Professionalism!
I was looking for on optometrist to do my eye exam. I haven't had my eyes examined in a few years. I didn't have a clue where to go. So I turned to Yelp.
I found Jackman Optometry and after reading their reviews on Yelp, researching their website and reading all the information I decided to go here.
I am happy to report after my eye exam and a new pair of glasses, I am very pleased with Jackman Optometry. -

I was due for a new prescription and needed a real change in style for a while (though I didn't know it). I was fortunate enough to find Dr Jackman through a networking group, and with her help, I can now see better and look cool at the same time! I've even updated my hairstyle, which really helps on an occupational level.
I like the cozy, single operator, feel of her business also. I got my last pair of glasses at Costco; they totally lack the personal touch. Dr Jackman really gets to know you, and you know she's giving you the best deal, or recommending what's best for you because you have a personal relationship with her; something that doesn't happen in a warehouse (Costco, or Walmart for that matter).
Try Dr Jackman for your Optometry needs! I promise you won't go back to those other guys! -

Previous I went to Costco optometry but ever since I got eye insurance through my employee I wanted to go somewhere that accepted my insurance. So I looked on Yelp and I picked Jackman because she had openings for this week.
I read the reviews and the good ones are true. I feel never knew optometry because I always went to Costco. What a difference! Here are a couple of good points I want to say:
Thorough: There were a number of tests that tested depth perception and color blindness that I didn't get at Costco. Also there were many more of them and the instrumentation looked very new. For $55 I got two additional tests not covered by my insurance that checked for eye pigmentation to check for risk of macular degeneration and another that takes a cross section image of your eye so you can see for yourself what's wrong. Lot of the tests I had not heard before and I felt like it was much more thorough than I had been used to.
Personal: The assistance the Dr. Jackman herself were very nice, took their time, and careful. I think the fact that they didn't rush anything and the fact that they were very willing to explain anything i didn't understand made it a very pleasant experience.
State-of-the-art: Ah the wow factor. So there's a machine connected to a PC that measures eye pigmentation which was really cool. It checks for early-signs of macular degeneration and looked very new. And then the eye charts are completely digital and are read off a brand-new iMac! I thought that was cool. I seem to always remember the letters on those charts and having it digital I was able to tell her to change up the letters every so often to keep me honest. Finally the image of your eye is so cool and psychadelic when you take it. It flashes blue and green lights and creates an HD image of your eye so you can see right there for yourself your veins, the interior of your eye, and the retina itself.
Overall a great experience and I am quite pleased. -

Dr Jackman is a rare breed of a doctor. She is personable and purposeful. I, personally, appreciate those two traits in a doctor. She's also very knowledgeable...about many different topics, not just optometry.

This was my first time dealing with Dr. Jackman and Jackman Optometry. I selected her office randomly from my VSP doctors list through my employee site. I am extremely happy that I did. I hadn't had such a pleasant experience at an optometrist office in quite some time. I can't remember the name of the very pleasant young lady that helped me out to begin with and gave me my initial tests but they went by very quickly due to her pleasant and outgoing attitude. After I had completed the initial tests I met Dr. Jackman. She also had a very welcoming and pleasing attitude. She made me feel at home in her office. I received a very throuough exam seeing how it was my first visit to the office which also went by very quickly. We chatted and I got to know her on a more personal as well as professional level. I really enjoyed the time I spent in the office. After my exams were all complete Dr. Jackman helped me to pick out frames for my new glasses. It had been years since I had a new pair of frames so I had no idea what to search for. She took the time to help find frames that would actually fit my tiny head and narrowed down my selection. After we did that Chris helped me along with narrowing the results to one pair and then went over all of my costs and insurance coverages. Overall the experience was delightful and I will continue to reccomend my friends and family that are in the local area.

Finally an eye doctor that is thorough! This visit was for my kids, 10 and 6, but I also see Dr. Jackman. She was so great with both of my kids. My 6 year old was a bit nervous about getting numbing drops in her eyes and having her use the instrument to touch her eyeball so Dr. Jackman made it seem like no big deal and waited for my daughter to feel okay with it. The visit was very pleasant even though I had two appointments right in a row and if you have kids you know how that can be. They were efficient and friendly and getting a prize at the end of the visit made it extra special. I highly recommend Dr. Jackman.

I, too, chose this from my VSP catalog based on its close proximity to my home and work; and I am also happy that I did. Dr. Jackman has a nice practice. It is a very clean, quiet and state of the art facility. Dr. Jackman is quite pleasant and has a warm personality. Her staff is also friendly and efficient. I have enjoyed being a patient of Dr. Jackman and hope to continue while living in the O.C.!

Dr Jackman did a fantastic job with my eyes. I tried the Ortho-K she recommended and I can actually see about 20/15 without even wearing contacts during the daytime right now. It is crazy!
I am very impressed with her and I like how she spends a good amount of time with you. You wont get that kind of service at Lenscrafters -

Dr. Janice Jackman is simply the best! I am wearing my second pair of contacts from her and couldn't be happier. The comfort is amazing and my vision is so improved! I was pleasantly surprised to be able to see the computer without having to use my reading glasses! Dr. Jackman really takes the time to make sure her patients are happy and have the best vision possible. I've worn contacts for many years and have never had more comfortable contacts or better vision. Thank you so much for caring!

I found Dr. Jackman through Yelp, she was the highest rated in the area. I randomly brought her up with a coworker before my appointment and my coworker had nothing but good things to say about her visit. I agree. Dr. Jackman was very, very thorough, on time, and knowledgeable.
I was promptly called when my contacts arrived, and then she scheduled two follow-up appointments to make sure they fit well. I"m very happy to have found Dr. Jackman as my optometrist. -

Dr. Jackman is great. My wife and I went to see her a few weeks ago. She and her staff are very thorough and take the time to answer all of your questions. I had my eyes checked a few years ago and was told by someone else that I didn't need glasses. I decided to go in this year for a checkup and Dr. Jan realized that while my visual acuity is good (20-15) I have astigmatism. I now see clearly with the new glasses she recommended!

The most thorough exam I have ever had. Dr. Jackman actually listened to me and took time to resolve an issue I've dealt with for over 20 years: headaches. I love my new glasses, and for the first time in literally decades I can wear them without getting a headache.
Office hours are very convenient for the working person. I was able to go in after work for my exam and to pick up my new glasses. I highly recommend Dr. Jackman! -

I'll come back. I didn't give it 5 stars bc although they said I was eligible for a mail in rebate, they didn't give me the two receipts I needed to mail it in. I find the office is forgetful. Dr. Jackman, however, is thorough when it comes to medical exams but I wish she hadn't noted no substitutions on my Rx.

Since starting my business, I'd noticed that my current prescription was making me more and more tired the more hours I spent in front of my computer. Worse, I was having difficulty reading for more than 30 minutes, sometimes even experiencing double vision.
Even though I'd been going to an optometrist for years, Dr. Jackman took the additional time in my exams to identify other vision problems that my previous optometrist had missed. Dr. Jackman's extensive experience in vision therapy and non-standard vision problems was a huge help and comfort to me.
In addition to my exam testing, she tested me for vision therapy benefits and equipped me with a few training solutions. She then fitted me with new contact lenses, a better prescription and new reading glasses.
I'm grateful for industry experts like Dr. Jackman since I'd incorrectly assumed that my vision problems were issues that I'd had to deal with, and now I know that there's a better way to address them. I'm grateful for her experience, patience and tenacity to get my vision clearer.
I'm now under her expert care for a new vision option for people who hate wearing contacts and glasses during the day - Ortho-K. If you want to go all day without glasses or contacts, please give her a call. It's been a game-changer for me.
I'd recommend her to all my clients and friends for all their vision needs. -

Very thorough eye exam. Dr. Jackman demonstrated great care and compassion in taking the case study. From her recommendations, one could sense that she had a great deal of experience and knowledge in diagnosing and treating eye problems. I was also impressed with the precise measurements taken by Christopher in fitting the frames. I have never experienced such patience and exactness in my 60+ years of going to eye doctors.

Highly recommended Dr. Jackman!!! At first I thought these post were fake maybe someone working under her to get business, but since she was right across the street from my work, I decided to just go on my lunch break and get my exam. Oh buoy! she was awesome, she was very patient with all my questions and provided me with ALOT of answers that most eye docs don't care to answer or explain, she was very thorough with my exam and identify other vision problems that no other doctors would explain to me and had upto date technology.
Also I went to Dr. Jackman because I have Astigmatism and I read on her website that she works with hard to fit eyes, astigmatism...etc. So I figured I'd try this place. I gave her my opinion that I wanted to try Hard contacts cause I heard they work great with astigmatism, apparently Dr. Jackman examed my eyes and noticed my astigmatism isn't on my cornea, but behind it, so soft contacts with toric wouldn't help and neither hard lens so she recomended me to try a certain brand that was between soft and hard contract that would work the best for my eyes and so far I think they work-- when I blink they don't shift around or go blurry for me.
At the end, she calculated the best price for me with my insurance and gave me a discount. Buoy was I pleased.... I'm glad that I went with this Yelp review and went to Dr. Jackman because I've wasted so much money on other eye doctors in the last year because every prescription I got, I felt like I still couldn't see clear and wasn't happy, I even went to Costco and Lens Craft and paid out of my own pocket and the eye doctor didn't even tell me anything, but ok your eyes got worst here is your new prescription, please pay at the window.
Thank you Dr. Jackman, I will recommend you to everyone and only go back to you for eye exams.... -

Just got back from my second anual visit to Dr. Jackman. What I love about her service is she takes time with you and does a very thorough eye exam and then has all the frames to fit my lenses and my new style for the year!...so, it's a one-stop-shop!! Great service, nice selection of frames and years of knowledge. All these go together to keep me healthy and seeing well! I sent all our employees from Shred Wise to see her. I highly recomend Jan Jackman....come "see" what she's all about!

I am a nurse and a new mother as well and my time is always precious. Dr. Jackman saw right me on the dot! I really appreciated how Dr. Jackman spent her time listening to all my concerns. She gave me full attention and never let me wait @ all. I appreciate how she and her staff treat clients- very respecful, professional and genuinely kind. I will never look for another optometrist.

I saw Dr. Jackman several years ago after having been diagnosed with an early macular degeneration by another Optometrist. Dr. Jackman came highly recommended and I was willing to travel the distance for an exam. Her corrective lenses greatly improved the vision in the affected eye. She also told me that I had been misdiagnosed and did not have macular degeneration and she referred me to an Opthomogist who confirmed her diagnosis. What I had was an edema which has since subsided. I'm 79 years old and am able to enjoy excellent vision because of the time and care that Dr. Jackman extends me during my exams. She always checks for conditions that, when found early are more easily treated, such as Glacoma. I highly recommend Jackman Optometry. Dolores Wiener

Dr. Jackman is very thorough with her exams. She is very patient with you and guides you through everything. I have a very high prescription so it took some time to find the right prescription for me. The exam did not feel rushed at all. Dr. Jackman is also very helpful in giving advice on choosing frames. Her selection is great and have just about the most modern styles! I would higly recommend Dr. Jackman if you're looking to form a good relationship with your optometrist!
