Review from Shefali D.

My family started going to Dr. Jack 4 years ago after getting totally fed up with dentists who recommended expensive procedures we didn't need. My friend referred me and it was my last option in trying to find a good dentist. I can honestly say that we won't be going anywhere else. Dr. Jack does what a good dentist should do - he recommends what actually needs to be done, not recommendations to help himself make a profit. If nothing needs to be done - he will honestly say that.
My husband had alot of problems with haliltosis (bad breath) and Dr. Jack's treatments completely eliminated the problem. My 5 year old son has been seeing Dr. Jack for the last 3 years and he loves going to the dentist because the staff and Dr. Jack are so kind and caring. They also have a "treasure chest" of toys that he gets to pick a toy from after his appointment is done.
I highly recommend this office. It is clean, hygienic, the staff is amazing, and Dr. Jack himself is a good dentist with a kind and friendly demeanor. We won't be going anywhere else! -

I went to Dr. Van Bulow because my wife was so happy with him that she practically dragged me in there. The guy is charming, funny and engaging. He is also an excellent listener and communicator. You can tell a lot about a small office by observing the staff. I hate to sound sappy but His office staff adores him. When you call in for an appointment they answer on the first ring and have a friendly and upbeat attitude.
I have a special hatred for injections of any kind but I am careful to appear brave. There really was no pain during the process of numbing my mouth! (There are a few folks who would gladly pay him extra to numb my mouth) He took the time to explain everything he was doing. Even though Dr. Van Bulow has been in practice for a zillion years He acted like doing the crown in my mouth was the most exciting part of his week. The thing is, the guy wasn't acting - he likes his job and he likes his patients. Talk to anyone in the reception room and you'll hear nothing but enthusiasm about his practice.
Dr. Van Bulow wrote a book "Confessions of a Molar Jockey" and he sent me a copy after my first visit there. It is full of whiticisms and dental misadventures. You can catch a glimpse of his personality by reading the local paper where he writes a weekly column. If you are an SC fan, you are safe there. Bruins probably just get bad dentistry and big mean needles there.
Go See Dr Van Bulow, He's great. -

When it comes to dental work, I've done it all: cavities filled, root canals (plural!), oral surgery, dental implant. You name it, I've done it. All of it was torture...until I met Dr. Von Bulow and his awesome staff at TC Dental Care. Dr. Jack is super nice and makes getting that horrible, huge shot not so bad. Everybody from the front office (shout out to my homegirl, Dalila) to the hygienist to the assistants are all friendly and professional. The last time I was there I actually got a paraffin hand treatment to boot! It's actually a pleasure to go to the dentist now!
And Dr. Von Bulow's network of USC cronies are top notch as well. Major ups to Dr. Haney and Dr. Ardary. -

This is not an over-hyped review. Dr. Jack is the best dentist you will ever have. I have referred at least 4 people to TCD and they all feel the same way. I have had many dental procedures and dentists. This guy is the real deal.
There are so many great things about TCD, but I'll list my top:
1. Dr. Jack is extremely nice and thorough. He takes the time to explain everything to you. No question is a dumb question.
2. They use state of the art technology. I often hear Dr. Jack talking about the importance of continuing education and staying up-to date with the latest practices.
3. TCD is active in the community and strongly supports philanthropic causes.
I admit, Temple City is a bit far for some folks, but it's worth the trip. It is so rare nowadays to find friendly and quality care health professionals.
One bad thing....Dr. Jack went to USC, but I'm willing to overlook it. If you close your eyes during the dental procedures, you won't notice the excessive and shameless display of trojan gear throughout the office.

History
Established in 1976
Temple City Dental Care (TCDC) started from scratch; it remains a solo practice focussed on providing personalized.care. The practice has become one of the most progressive in the San Gabriel valley.
Since the mid-90s, TCDC has averaged over 200 hours of continuing education per year and traveled all over the U.S. to learn from the best. TCDC stopped using Mercury fillings in the mid-80s, has used laser technology for over 10 years, and was one of the very first local practices to design a hygiene program with the help of nationally recognized consultants.
Over the last ten years, TCDC has worked with the community to help raise more than $23 million through its affiliation with the Nationally recognized Crown Council and partner Garth Brooks. This year TCDC is doing teeth whitening for reduced fees with $100 of each whitening going to the City of Hope.
