Amy, Chef and Proprietor, coupled with Yves Gigot Chef come together to serve food in a very sexy way.
I am a visitor to beautiful Incline Village. Jack Rabbit Moon was a great find (thank you to my house host who introduced this place). Small unassuming bistro, located in the south west intersection of Tahoe and Village Blvds; If you see 7/11 you are on the right block.
Food, Wine and Service was excellent that I dined there twice. Maybe a third time but they are closed on Sundays.
Night 1- Salmon Entree served on a vegetable puree. Salmon was broiled to perfection
Salmon Appetizer was served (and sadly, I forgot to note how it was prepared) all I
know is it was delicious
Night 2- Short ribs Entree served with steamed baby vegetables laced with the beef broth
Shrimp wrapped in wun tun wrappers with a spicy cilantro sauce... tasty
Both nights; we enjoyed a craft martini to start and chased it with a glass of nice wine. Three types of bread is served, complimentary with their flavored butters and a special made hummus.
Laid back atmosphere, great service, great food.
I did not have the pleasure of meeting Amy, the proprietor but I did have a great opportunity to meet and chat with Chef Yves. He's s shy sort of person but was cordial and did share the ingredients he used to prepare the great food.
A keeper! I hope to see and dine at Jack Rabbit Moon on my next journey to Incline Village.

Definitely a solid 5 Star eatery to a 808 Yelper.
I've eaten a lot of places when I do get away from the Aloha State, but what I enjoy most is restaurants that have a relaxing welcoming atmosphere.
Lake Tahoe has a lot of small businesses to get a quick bite, but sometimes you really have to treat yourself to some excellent dishes. Jack Rabbit Moon is an Amazing smaller sized restaurant with a romantic feel,
Superior service, good wine menu paired with superb dishes that make you fall on love with this cozy place.
On our visit to JRM we split the Salmon dish, when they brought out the dish they make presented us with two beautiful plated meals. I never seen a restaurant split a dish like JRM does it, fantastic presentation. The salmon was cooked perfectly and made my mouth dance with joy, paired a good cabernet extraordinary delicious.
That was the first night, yes we so impressed the food the Chef prepared along with the great service we got from the staff, we booked dinner again for the following night.
The next night I started with a Spanish Jiabol, the Uncle Val's gin and house made blood orange sour sold me. For the appetizer Crispy prawns ($18), shared the special that night,Leg of lamb served with fingerling potatoes topped with lamb au jus ($34) and for dessert Vanilla lemon ginger creme brulee ($12). It's a rotating menu so the dishes are always changing, make sure you ask for the specials.
Robert who served us both nights was awesome! Great friendly staff and delicious eats.Make

Lake Tahoe is chockfull of breathtaking beauty & world-class level activities. But fine dining? That scene is just not happening here.
Happily, Jack Rabbit Moon more than compensates for that void.
This is elevated dining. For anywhere. But out here in Tahoe? Suffice it to say that JRM has zero competition.
Great wine list. Attentive service. From soup to dessert, every dish delivers. Even the gazpacho is outstanding. You taste the ingredients. You taste excellence.
Foie gras. Wow. Velvety & luxurious, this dish rivals any foie gras I've had in SF or NYC. I especially appreciated the chef making it sweet instead of savory. Foie gras is magical when sweetness is added. This dish makes you wish it would never end.
Sea Bass. Outstanding. The fish melts in your mouth. Flavors are fresh & vibrant, & it's satisfying despite being so light.
The duck confit should not be missed here, either. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, full of flavor.
Do not skip dessert. I loved the chocolate cake, but the panna cotta was outstanding.
If you make it out to North Shore, & especially Incline Village, JRM is a must try.
Make a reservation! Even for the bar! This is absolutely necessary during peak season.
A jewel in the mountains.

Round two in four days. Can't give enough praise for JRM. Once again, outstanding food and atmosphere. I travel a lot for work and I can say the one thing which sets his place apart outside of the food is the owner Amy and her staff. They are absolute rock stars. On top of that the wine selection BTG is great. If only I had one more night...

We came here on a Friday night because one of the Tahoe event websites listed they had live jazz there. Even though it was summertime, it was a cold night and the musicians were playing outside one of the entrances to the restaurant....the wrong entrance essentially. At the 2nd entrance (where the band was not set up), there was comfortable seating with some tables and an outside wood-burning stove. We could hear the music just fine, though could not see the musicians. It was like they were just playing for the people coming and going from the restaurant.
We saw their wine selection was vast so opted to enjoy a glass while hanging out in the comfy chairs outside (it's in Nevada and you can do that) while we decided if we wanted to have dinner there.
First, I went up to the wine bar and told the server we'd like to order 2 glasses of wine. He said ok and that someone would be right with me. He didn't appear to be doing anything that he couldn't take 1 minute to pour 2 glasses of wine. So I waited a couple minutes and asked another server if he could take my order. He said, 'sure' but it was still another couple minutes until he could find something to write on. How about you remember the two, only two, wines I want and then reach right behind you for the bottles and pour them! Discombobulated much?
Finally after getting the glasses of wine, we took them outside. It was a cold night like I said. We tried fiddling with the heat lamps though it seemed the pilot light wasn't on. No one once came to check on us or ask us if we wanted the heater turned on. We could have taken our wine back to our car and driven away for all they cared.
The pricey-ness and lack of variety on the menu steered us away from having dinner there. Because we're honest and decent human beings, we went back into the restaurant to pay for our wine. Yet another 5-or so minute wait while the wine bar guy figured out who was going to ring us up.
The icing on the cake was that as we were paying, a different couple went outside with wine glasses to the comfy seats. (We could see them through the front window.) There was a staff member trailing right behind them to get the heat lamps fired up. Ugh!
Though Jack Rabbit Moon does have a very extensive wine list and the jazz musicians were great, their complete lack of service and organization means we won't go back.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 5, 2011
I'm ambivalent about writing this review, because my policy is to not give high marks to a restaurant that is already very popular on Yelp, and doesn't need more business. But, I think there are some unfair reviews for the restaurant, and, I don't know that many of the positive reviews do this restaurant justice. And I really like the place.
This is an outstanding restaurant in terms of menu, quality of ingredients, preparation, and service. It compares very well to high-end, Bay Area dining spot. Excellent fresh ingredients, inventive flavor combinations, solid presentations. With that context, the prices are a little high for the area, but fully justified and well worth it.
A few pointers: It's a very small restaurant with table seating for about 20, 3 bar tables and a bar counter. So, I think reservations are a very good idea, especially on a Saturday, and probably necessary on a holiday weekend, although we were able to walk in on a Saturday and sit at one of the bar tables. The portions that I had and saw were very generous, so you don't want to over-order. They had Modelo Especial on tap, which is my favorite beer (in addition to a nice wine selection). Definitely not kid-friendly. The hanger steak with salad was incredible.
I would definitely recommend this as a fine dining destination.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Keith R.Saint Louis, MO58571Aug 13, 2016
What a difference a year makes! Completely new staff...and I can say that that is very unfortunate. This place used to be a unique gem. The staff was amazing and the food creative and unrivaled for the area. Our visit tonight revealed a 180 degree turn. We were met by Brett, a hostess undeserving of a position at 7/11. Bret was completely unprofessional and unwelcoming. The atmosphere now cold and harsh with bright lights. What a shame...Amy, you have always done better that this. I will not return, thanks to Bret.
Best of luck in the future.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - C S.San Francisco, CA0123Aug 29, 2015
BEWARE: they're on Open Table and will take your online reservation - only to let you know upon your arrival that they neglect those reservations and have NO space for you.
The food here may be good, but we will never know. We made reservations via opentable and arrived perfectly on time. The waiter (I don't think they have a hostess) with less than a warming attitude tells us she will check on our reservation. After waiting on a few tables for several minutes she finally comes back to let us know that she just found our reservation and that they are booked. Her solution, we will give you some blankets so you can sit outside (dark and cold) for about 15min when we might have something available at the bar. What?!
Her rationale as to how this might even happen in a supposedly nice restaurant is that their boss makes them put the restaurant up on opentable even though they don't really check or consider those reservations. Crappy customer service if you ask me. Hopefully the kitchen knows what they are doing.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 8468971Jan 18, 2013
Had the lasagna with bolognese and bechamel. I also had some of the NY steak with chili fries as well. We split the crab toast to start. The quality and flavors were good for both, but I think a bit pricey for what we got.
The crab toast was the standout for me - crispy bread and generous crab with great flavor.
Donut holes were so so, a bit too crusty and overcooked.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
