I ended up here while visiting family in MA. Jabberwocky is located in the Tannery in downtown and is a site-seeing place in itself. This is a great local bookstore and if I lived here I would be in here all the time. They have the largest selection of books I've see in a locals place and they cover a vast range of topics.
The staff was helpful and pointed me in the direction of the book I was looking for. They seem to have everything!

The best local bookstore in Newburyport. They are located at the Tannery mill shops and there is something for everyone here.
Jabberwocky is not just the best bookshop in Newburyport, it is the best bookshop on the North Shore. I dare someone to visit and tell me otherwise! As a dedicated local bookstore shopper I've been to more shops than I can count but Jabberwocky takes the cake. They have a wide (WIDE) selection of all kinds of books--fiction, cookbooks, self help, parenting, crafts, even a small but complete graphic novel section. There is also a smaller "green room" with deep discount used books.
The staff is fantastic, and you can also order books on their website (http://jabberwocky.boo...) and pick them up in store. I have done so and the book was in on the second day after I ordered! Because of their wide selection I've only had to do that once though.
They are partnered with the toyshop next door, and are located in the Tannery right next to downtown Newburyport. I love this shop, and will not buy my books anywhere else!
