"Sorry, Gil, but I love this place. It's got your San Francisco-crepery essentials: chalkboard menus, savory and sweet crepes, woodsy…" read more »
It was good savory crepes. Satisfied my craving for crepe. I had florantine crepe and it was really good just need a little salt. My husband had the huevos ranchero and he said it was even better than the crepe I had! So, I would say I'll go back for the breakfast or brunch and try other breakfast items including the sweet crepes. I'm always a fan of crepes!
I love sitting outside on a nice day and people watching with my ice tea and bangkok salad. I am embarassed to say i have not tried a crepe yet since the salad is so amazing. Someday i will try one. I was hesitant about this place at first but come to love it.
Its pretty good.I mean i found a plastic ring in my first one, but they replaced it.And they gave me pumpkin pie when i was done. Tuscany crepe!;3

I am an africionado of real French crepes. These try but are really americanized crepes.
I was fairly disappointed but the good service makes it three stars.
You can get a vegan scramble here and it is so good. It's mexican style and very filling. I can't wait to go back and dine in so I can get a mimosa with my meal. Yum.
So delicious. Who are these haters that say the food is bland? Boo haters. This place is not the cheapest spot on the block, but they are very socially conscious, they have a really nice selection, the food is simply delectable, and the atmosphere is nice and quiet. So I ask: haters, who are you? I'm taking names.
This is definitely a place that I visit weekly. I love the atmosphere and the service is great. The prices are reasonable for the size of the meals. The food is delicious, the crepes are wonderful. I brought my brother to Crepevine who was visiting from the Midwest and he loved it. He wishes there was one in Chicago!
Mmmmmm. Crepe. This place is yum. I like the one with spinach, sundried tomato, cheese, tomatoes, and some other shit I can't remember. So delicious. The crepe itself is nice, thin and light and the filling is always good. I tend to stick to savory (vs. sweet) crepe, but the one with nutella is good, too. Accompanying, the savory crepe are these potatoes that are perfectly seasoned....well almost. They need a bit of salt, but that is easily remedied. I am less impressed with their salads. I mean, they're fucking huge, and you definitely get your money's worth (b/c they last 2 meals), but I feel they are lacking something. I think the problem is that they try to do too much. Regardless, don't go here for the salads, go for the crepe. You won't be disappointed.

MMMmm... they have a really good dessert crepe- the jamaican. its hot banana rum sauce and french vanilla ice cream. my bf and i used to eat this all the time.
the whole menu is really delicious and filling. the servings are pretty large so they are good to share. since
if you get a bloody mary they are ok. im a huge fan and i used to love them here until i found the irish bank in SF. they are inconsistent here and they use that wine stuff instead of alcohol since they only have a wine license. but they have stella on tap so it makes up for that. the staff is really friendly too.
yucky. Don't think there are any cooks in the kitchen at this place, more like assembly people.
Fairly expensive for b'fast, but worth it. Have gone here three times, and it is probably my favorite breakfast place in Marin right now. Had delicious french toast this morning. The Safari Cooler (fresh squeezed OJ, carrot juice, lemonade, ginger, honey) was so refreshing and wonderful.
Update... salads and sandwiches are awesome, too.
I love this place. Their conscious (a lot of their food is organic, fair trade...that sort of thing. They also have a lot of vegetarian options), friendly, and the atmosphere is open (it's a big place, for what it is), but warm. You order at the counter, and they serve the food to you; BIG, yummy, classy plates, akin to the Cheesecake factory, perhaps.
They have a big breakfast menu, but I often go for dinner. Their fettuccine Alfredo ("The Palmero," they call it), is killer.
I've never had the bakery-style desserts, but they look fabulous.
This place is a definite keeper.
Solid easy-going American bistro food. This is a better quality Squat and Gobble.
Most expensive plate is $9.50, the salmon filet sandwich with home fries & medium size mesclun salad. Bambie had the fish crepe, I had the catfish Po' Boy sandwich. Portion sizes are generous, flavors are authentic if simple. Meets my expectations, especially for the reasonable prices.
2 or 3 beers on tap, 5 California wines by the glass, Torani Italian sodas, house made Mango ice-tea, & espresso machine. Cakes & pies by Just Desserts.
Good meal for 2 people for under $30.

I live in San Rafael and for some time have felt that the downtown needed a little more variety as far as food choices go. The ambiance in itself is great; lots of space and a great view of Fourth Street. They had a decent selection of beer and coffees and the deserts looked delectable. My friends each adored what they ordered and indeed the portions are heaping, with sides of salads and potatoes. My tuna salad was missing something, maybe onions or salt? Otherwise, the menu is diverse and I am looking forward to returning!

It's good, but not the place I would go too all the time.
I like the variety. Although at times the flavor is dull. The pasta is good. The atmosphere is quiet whenever I go. Feels a little drab because of the space.
Five Stars good. I grew up in San Rafael and was delighted to see this place had opened when I came back one time to visit my family. Crepevine has such great food! Huge portions! If you like big and tasty burgers, El Baron is absolutely fantastic. Prices may be a little higher that usual, but you certainly get what you pay for. One morning I even had the best mimosa a breakfast/lunch place has ever made for me.
The fresh squeezed OJ is delicious, as are the eggs and heaping portions of potatoes. They even make (and very well mind you) sliced bagels filled with avocado, one of my favorite things to make at home for lunch. I was originally going to give 4 stars, but then I thought that this place really deserves 5, as it stands out as one of the best places on Fourth Street to get a giant and delicious breakfast or lunch. Definitely a good choice.

i like almost all the food. Huge portions and great deserts. i like the Baron burger with avocado. its killer. the Athena (greek salad) is great too.
yup, free refills on lemonade until you explode.
The salad with marinated chicken in Thai spices gives me a boner. It is big enough for 3 meals and only $7.
This place is a bit overrated. Food is a little bland I have had way better crepes. They do serve a variety of different 'healthy' food choices which is nice.
OK food with quiet unpleasant waitresses. Slow service with little to no finesse. I really like their outdoor seatings and this is the only reason I would go there again.
I thought Crepevine was a much needed addition to Fourth Street, but I hate this place with a passion!
Every weekend, months before it opened I would stand outside of Crepevine, hoping that if I stood there long enough it would open. It did sometime in March and it was packed and that's about it! I had some variation of eggs benedict (the ham they used was amazing). I "created" my own crepe with ham, cheese, and egg and it was very good; while the side of house potatoes and salad were bland. The "American Scramble" was so boring and just tasted like cinnamon; the sausage they used was strange. The orange juice was fresh squeezed and mocha tasted great.
The Raisin/Walnut French Toast and the "Santa Rosa" omlette are decent, I've had better. Ordering to-go is really quick and reasonable when it's crowded on the weekends.
And just because Crepevine has big portions, it doesn't mean the food is good!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope I can get away with the kid's meal next time. I have been here several times and it still hasn't impressed me.

"We're running out of cousins to open up more."
The BF was excited to find a new place for me to review. I recognized the name and logo right away. We walked in, the menu board works of arts seemed familiar as well. Then who should take our order, but the seemingly familiar face of one of the many cousins that own the various crepe-centric cafes around the bay (primarily San Francisco), with Crepevine San Rafael as location #7.
Have gone several times now. While it is the same format as the other locations, the space and location add to the experience. Very fresh and reliable food with excellent value, efficiently prepared. Sonoma burger is great. The fresh salmon and spinach crepe - the San Francisco - is my staple of the hour...red onions, dijon mustard and capers give it extra kick. Meals include some of the best "breakfast" potatoes around with just the right crunchy and soft, and house greens with a nice vinaigrette.
So location location location and great staff enhance the experience. Exposed ceilings with great colors throughout. Huge menu assortment. Spacious. Generous sidewalk seating and huge panoramic windows that are open on warm days and evenings. If you buy one of their fresh juices (safari cooler great for colds), the staff doubles as "sit-down" servers refilling your beverages and checking in.
Much of the family is on-premise helping out. Extra attentive and even had some yummy dessert on the house...banana hazelnut chocolate ice cream crepe. It's definitely a hang out to catch up or a stop by while enjoying some shopping kind of place. Interesting crowd of young people and local socialites. Maybe they'll find some other cousins to open up more locations with.

Overpriced! My tiny cappucino was $2 and my side of chicken apple sausage was $2.25--only two tiny sausages. The scrambled eggs were bland but the house potatoes were good. My friend got the bagel with smoked salmon and capers and I was scamming on her food the entire time, because it looked much better than mine. I could live with the quality of food, but for that price it should have been much better.
Love it! I've been to several incarnations of the many crepe/omelette we-use-all-the-crayons-in-the-box-chalkboard restaurants in the City many, many times over the years and this location does it right.
I had a huge veggie omelette/tofu scramble thing with a double latte and took home the leftovers for another meal later. Had a good bagel alongside it plus the usual oniony potato home fries, which were actually crispy but not burned or soggy, like at some places (Squat & Gobble #353 on Fillmore, I'm looking at you!!)
Great service, even on a busy weekend. The manager dropped by to see if everything was okay -- more brownie points for him!
My bf had the Palermo Pasta with Chicken and though it was a very large portion, it wasn't very tasty. He hardly ever puts salt on his food and when I saw him grab the salt-shaker I knew it wasn't that great. I had the Tuscany Crepe... it was ok, I mostly ate the side of potatoes though. What I did really like though, was the pumpkin pie. It tasted really fresh. The other dessert crepes looked yummy too. I don't know if I'd go here again, maybe just for dessert.
everywhere i go you taunt me crepevine
i hate you!
This place has waited long before it opened in the location of the ill-named Nothing-Fancy Cafe. It was well worth the wait! The staff is friendly, the food is terrific and the prices moderate. A great place to come for a quick meal.
The only thing a little off while my friend and I were there: The Eurotrash mixtape playing as background music.
I was killing time in downtown San Rafael and decided to walk around. I think all Northern California towns look alike. I could have been in San Mateo or Santa Rosa. I wouldn't have known the difference. I walked by twice and noticed the people sitting outsides dishes looked yummy. Luckily we got there right before the lunch rush. The line was to the door but it moved quickly. The menu was fairly priced. I got a mazatlan omelette(soyrizo, black bean chili, jack cheese, avocado, and salsa) it came with potatoes, and a bagel. So much food for $7.50. I couldn't finish it all. The service was excellent! The food servers were attentive and refilled my water(whoah! i know this is a simple task but rare in cheap places in SF) I am always amazed with good service. Everyone had a smile and checked up on us twice. The decor was cozy and the outdoor seating was nice! I wished they had cholula but tapatio will do.
Talk about value for money....this place truly delivers on so many levels...
If you are looking for high-end service that I suggest you go elsewhere, but if you are looking for fresh, flavorful and overall fantastic food then this is your spot...whether you crave dinner or dessert savory or sweet - crepevine has all your bases covered....
If you go for breakfast I HIGHLY recommend the Mazatlan - the vegan chorizo tastes like real chorizo and it is a fabulous omelet...if you go with someone then get the pumpkin pancakes too...they are TO DIE FOR!!!!
You basically can't go wrong at this place...stay clear of the tuna melt...it is nothing to write home about...
Considering the diminishing quality of food at the 4th street flea market, oops, I mean Farmer's Market - the crepevine is always a good option....
um this place can be considered delicious if you don't have any tastebuds! the food is not afwul but it doesn't taste good or bad. it's almost the same as cabbage.
