Got a crank in your neck or a screw in your back? Then Chiro-Health is the place for you! Reason why you should go here: last night I was in excruciating pain due to a mysterious neck spasm. I tried to turn my head to the right and it hurt like F'ING HELL IN A HAND BASKET. I didn't know how I would be able to go to work or walk around so I call Dr. Medel at Chiro-health in the morning and she was able to see me before work at 9am. She made some adjustments and worked out the muscle and saved me from having to call in sick. I felt so much better after our half-hour session.
Dr. Medel is personable and friendly. She not only helps work out the kinks in my back/neck, but she also makes sure her patients are comfortable and aware of how to prevent the problem and improve things such as posture. This place is located right on Market so its easy to get to from most buses. Just take the elevator to the 12th floor and put your body aches to rest. I never have problems scheduling an appointment even if it is the day of.

I went to Dr. Mazgaloff for about 6 months, got fed up with her and left. She was helpful in addressing my initial problem of upper back pain and recommended some exercises for me to do at home. She is very good at massage and muscle movement.
What I didn't like about her: She is not upfront about finances. She would tell me that I needed certain things at home (foam traction device, roller, balance ball), and then charge me exorbitant prices for them (shock right before leaving). She told me I needed to see her 3 times a week for the first few weeks, then twice a week for several more. After my back felt fine, she was still setting up frequent visits. She was low on patients at the time, judging from her bulletin board of new patients' photos.
At Christmas time, she told me she was giving out free 1/2 hr massages to her patients' friends and family. I filled out two cards. She said it was her Christmas present to me and that I deserved it. My sister-in-law came to get a massage (my brother took the AM off from work specially to watch their kids). Dr. Mazgaloff wouldn't give her the "free" massage without an appointment (this wasn't clear in the card) and my sister-in-law didn't have insurance coverage or want to pay $165 for a 1/2-hr visit. Dr. Mazgaloff blamed her secretary for not explaining it. My sister-in-law said she was very rude. Dr. M. went through 2 secretaries while I was visiting her. One had back problems as she would type while kneeling on the floor as a break from sitting in her chair.
I never had neck problems before visiting her. She adjusted my cervical vertebrae, which I now know can cause damage to the arteries in the neck. A year later, I have frequent neck pain and headaches and am getting up the courage to try a second doctor.
My advice is to find someone else. If you go to Dr. Magzaloff, make sure you get second opinion(s) on everything or know exactly what you want and need, as you cannot trust her to look out for your interests. When I left, I just called the office and canceled my appointments. She never called me back or attempted to follow up about it.
Awesome place to start your healthy lifestyle and take control of your body. They make sure to work with you and your schedule to get you up to 100% as quickly as possible. Great vibe, great location, absolutely recommend this practice.

I was having back pain once a month for about a year when I was referred to Chiro-Health....since going now for 4 months, my back pain is completely gone....Dr. Mazgaloff and Dr. Medel are great at setting up a plan of attack to take on whatever's causing you pain.
I also love that on top of keeping track of what's going on with my back, if I start up a new exercise program or have other pains in my body, the Dr.'s are right there at my next appointment to assess how and what's affecting my body and what I need to do to stay healthy.
I find it very easy to make appointments that work on my time.
Plus, they're super nice and very well located! I highly recommend.

Dr. Medel has done wonderful work on my back and neck for a year. She is attentive and I always feel a million times better when I leave her office. Every time I bump into the other doctor in the office, Dr. Mazgaloff, she greets me by name. Their service is personal, friendly, and effective! Go there!!

I've been seeing chiropractors for years now, and I know it's all about the hands. Dr. Mazgaloff has great hands. She helped me recover from two herniated discs which had at times incapacitated me and at least left me in pain every single day for years. Now I'm back on my feet and mostly pain free. Thanks, Dr. M.

I go see Dr. Medel at Chiro-Health and she is wonderful...she has a personality which is fun and she is so knowledgable. I was injured in a car accident 6+ years ago and she is the only one who has yet to make me feel better.
Dr. Mazgaloff is super friendly too. I like the feel of the space, they greet you and treat you and take your payment...I never feel like I am getting lost in the shuffle.

I as well commute to the city to see Dr. Mazgaloff (and i hate going to the city) But very well, WORTH IT! Who would of ever thought to see a chiropractor for carpal tunnel, arthritis ?? I'm a manicurist of ten years and it's now catching up to me...... thanks to Dr. Mazgaloff I'm definitely seeing improvements in these pass few weeks of seeing her. I was to the point, without my hands i have no job. I was recommended by my client who have said nothing but great things, and has had other people as well see REAL results . I as well, have had my share of chiropractors and must say Mazgaloff really knows her stuff....very well EDUCATED! and on that note her personable and friendly staff has definitely found a client for life in me. Give her a call today!

When I visited Dr. Mazgaloff, I was in a sharp pain in the mid + lower back for 6 months ever since I found out that I was pregnant. By the time I visited her, I was hitting 7 month, and couldn't handle anything anymore. I was just sooo ready to give a birth already. But after a month treatment with Dr. Amelia Mazgaloff, I regretted not seeing her much earlier on stage and just putting up with it. She adjusted my back structures moderately and didn't use any medicine, and did a deep muscular massage with physical exercise which I can do it at home. I am still seeing her (now hitting to 8 month) and sooo happy to find her in the last trimester. She and Dr. Medel are so friendly and they are willing to help you out! All thumbs are up in the air! If you are suffering any chronic pain as mom-to-be, don't hesitate, just go and see her!!

I am really disappointed; I just finished a very sad appointment. A little over a month ago, I was a passenger in an accident and experienced whiplash and general soreness. As my body is my temple, I decided to seek out some chiropractic care. After reading some glowing reviews on this chiropractor's partner, I called the office and assumed it was the same doctor. Although very nice the 'doctor' was very unknowledgeable. I stated my issues: no health insurance, a passenger in an accident etc. I asked for advice so as to avoid any later problems getting reimbursed through my friends insurance. When I asked her whether I would need to go to an actual doctor or get x-rays for my case, she had no idea and had to ask an associate. I would think a chiropractor would be aware of the protocol.
After 15 minutes of filling out paperwork I lay down for treatment. She rolled my neck around and pressed my back, pretty standard stuff. She had trouble getting a reaction when she hit me with the mallet, repeating to the point of irritation. I then had to stop her from making an adjustment on my neck, which was injured a mere 12 hours prior. Next she raised a portion of the table when I lie on my stomach and allowed it to drop via gravity. I guess that was an adjustment? Next she procured a bizarre clicky apparatus and made more 'adjustments'
Admittedly, I was 12 minutes late for my 2:30 appointment. Later she mentioned her 3:00 was late. I left at 3:13, leaving me to question whether 30 minute initial consults were the norm and even in that case I wondered why they wouldn't leave some type of buffer. After 10 or 12 minutes of treatment, we were all wrapped up. When I went to pay, which I did out of pocket, I was floored. The 'treatment' cost 165 dollars. I was in and out in 30 minutes including paperwork. Fortunately, I declined the follow up and got a recommendation for a reputable, established local chiropractor. I smartened up and asked about the price beforehand this time. Her receptionist informed me that for first time out of pocket clients the first TWO initial consultations are $150. After that the rate falls to $55 per visit. Needless to say, I have not returned. My advice to others is shop around! Good luck
I've had upper back and neck issues off and on for years. I've found tons of help through my previous body worker but he moved away. I was referred by a number of co-workers at Adobe and I was totally surprised - Dr Mazgaloff and Dr Medel are fantastic. I'm off a mind that, like any discipline, 95% of the practitioners are average at best and I only want to spend my time, money and energy on that small, special group of real experts. I never feel rushed, both Medel and Mazgaloff do a lot more than the quick 2 minute adjustment and push you out the door. After three months my symptoms are mainly gone and I feel stronger and healthier than I have in years.
I've been going to Dr. Mazgaloff for more than a year now and she's made an enormous difference in my posture and my well-being. She is cheerful, supportive, full of energy.
For the first month I had appts. each week and since then I've seen Dr. M. once a month to maintain my flexibility. She has also given me stretching and strengthening exercises to do at home.
Her office is attractive, well equipped and conveniently located (3rd & Market). This art deco highrise is beautifully maintained and has the handsomest elevators I've ever ridden.
During this year I've lost 45 lbs. and need to lose 25 more. Dr. M.'s supportive therapy has been a major factor enabling me to do this.
Thank you so much, Dr. M.
