Review from Chuck B.
Travel with me, if you will, in my Wellsian time machine, to the late 1970's. A time of discothèques with revolving crystal globes darting rainbows of color through the darkness to the rhythm of the Bee Jees "Stayin' alive". It was a fun, if shallow, time in America's psyche. E.g. Jimmy Carter was President and polyester leisure suits were de rigueur. You get the idea.
Or, if realism is more to your liking, just step through the door at J C's Pizzaria! I swear this place has not changed in over 30 years. They even have two conical fireplaces in this cavernous space. When was the last time you saw one of those? I was the only patron in the place so I busted a couple of Travolta moves on what looked amazingly like a dance floor. Who's to know? Right?
But you guys want to know about the food!
Individual sized Pizzas are not an option. I figured I could order a small, take half home and offer it to SWMBO. I know her daintiness will decline, affording me another run at it, later, in the dark of night. (Pay attention here fella's. This is "How to be a hero AND get all the Pizza for yourself 101"!)
To add further certainty to my nefarious plan, I ordered their "HEAVYWEIGHT"! This baby has ALL their toppings. I'll say that again: ALL their toppings! It turns out; this was a bit much, even for me. If I live to do this again, I will have them hold the Sausage and Green Bell Peppers.
This was and will be again (if careful planning is to be rewarded), a good Pizza.
If you find yourself in Keizer and think a '70's trip down memory lane would be fun, check J C's out.
PS: They also offer Soups and Sandwiches. -

I must have come at a bad time compared to all these other reviews, because the food and experience I had was absolutely repulsive.
I went with my friend for her brother's 9th birthday party years ago and had never been here before. I figured I'd try it, and I love arcades so hey. Why not?
Big mistake.
The crust was oily and overdone, the sauce was bland, the cheese was rubbery and the service was nonexistent. Not to mention dirty tables and floors. :/
I seriously doubt I will give this place a second try. -

One of my favorite pizza places. The thin-crust style takes me back to my youth. The setting not the greatest in town, but I put up with it for the greasy pepperoni. Sometimes the juke box is a little louder than it needs to be.

I have to say in the Salem/Keizer area this is one of my favorite pizza places, of course it's a close race with some of the other places mentioned in other reviews.
We've been here multiple times and are never disappointed. We usually get the JC's Special (I'm pretty sure that's what it's called) and occasionally a side of "spuds." Personally for me the spuds are a bit too salty but my husband loves those seasoned fried potato slices. The pizzas are reasonably priced for what you get and I think the one order of spuds is an appetizer that could easily be shared by at least four people. Pizza crust is thin and crunchy but always perfectly cooked. The ingredients are fresh and generously portioned on your pizza. I do think the sauce could use a little more pizazz but it's not terrible by any means.
The atmosphere in this place is causal with lots of seating. I like the exposed beams and the fire pits throughout the place. Seating areas are divided up into different sections so even if it's packed in one area there are still other sections you can sit and not be bothered by the sound from the group . This place is great for parties, as there seems to be one ever time we've been there. One downside is on a busy night or with multiple groups it can get pretty loud.
For $200 you can order a GIANT pizza! The pizza pan is almost as tall as I am when it's on it's side! Don't forget to order 3 days in advance for this monster! Whenever we go there I always wonder if it ever actually got ordered. Then low and behold on our last trip to JC's there was a large party and sitting on 2 tables pushed together was the monster pizza! What a sight that was!
Overall I'd recommend you give this place a try, if you don't like crowds go one evening during the week and enjoy! -

I don't know what it is about JC's Pizza, I think its the thin, extremely crispy crust so that you can pick up a slice and it stay in form no matter what angle it takes to enter your mouth.

Good pizza. Good crust. So-so service, sticky tables and my pie took longer than expected.

Wow now I'm not sure if I even believe the reviews for any restaurants if this place is getting stars. They use canned veggies on their pizza!! Who wants to eat a pizza with canned mushrooms. Go down the road a little farther to cristo's or even Abby's. This place was the worst. But these are people from Salem doing the reviewing. Yuck.

For those who love Walery's Pizza in West Salem but are far away, look no further than J.C's Pizza in Keizer. The food is virtually identical -- the pizza's prices, tastes, and style are practically the same. The setting and scene is similar as well -- large families, "little league" sponsored memorabilia, and beer / salad. The restaurant is neither as big nor does it feature as good a parking as Walery's, however its location along the busy River Road is far superior than the remote West Salem Edgewater location. The service is often apathetic (full of HS boys working) so therefore its recommended to do to-go (even though there is a .50 cent charge :( )

The crust and the ingredients are superb, in fact he crust may be the best ever! The reason I am only giving 3 stars however is due to the lack of taste in the sauce. For a pizza to have such great crust, ingredients and an abundance of good cheese the flavor was bland. Prices are reasonable and a HUGE dining area makes it a great place for parties.
