I was SO LOOKING FORWARD to sinking my teeth into some serious cheesecake here. But man, was I disappointed. The cheesecake was crappy and terrible. I also took home a pastry which was equally mediocre. TOO BAD! If this place was good, I'd park my fine self there once a week.

Firstly, i'd like to thank the Phantom Gourmet for giving Ivy's an 82/100 on their show. With that, I'd also like to tell the Phantom Gourmet to go f#ck themselves for tricking me into thinking that Ivy's was worth my time or money!
I'm a man that loves himself some baked goodness. Unfortunately, there is little baked goodness to be found at Ivy's Fine Cakes and Pastry.
I sampled two fruit squares and a blondie brownie. The lemon square was decent enough but was run of the mill at best. The crust was lacking in flavor and the Lemon filling was its only saving grace. The raspberry square was much of the same thing but the filling was pretty generic and overly sweet. It was just meh. The blondie however was dismal. Truly an embarrassment to blondies everywhere! It was hard as week old sh*t and had absolutely NO flavor whatsoever. In fact, the blondie was the first "treat" I sampled and following my first bite, I honestly thought there was something wrong with me! How could this hard ass blondie be void of ANY flavor what so ever??? It literally tasted of nothing! It could have been made of Play Dough, really really hard Play Dough, minus the fun smell.
Admittedly, I didn't buy much from Ivy's but the "quality" I tasted was enough to know that they really aren't worth messing with when the world is filled with so many other better bakeries. However, I suppose that if every other bakery in MA were to shut down overnight...... and Entamins were to go out of business..... and at-home baking was outlawed under penalty of death.............. Yeah, I probably still wouldn't waist my time with Ivy's again.
One other thing, take down that stupid Phantom Gourmet statue. It's tacky and you don't deserve it! -

It was father's day and I wanted to buy my dad a cake. oops. last minute lol. I was looking for something different from Konditor Meister.
They had a lot to choose from and I wanted everything!!! The prices are really jacked up...for no reason.
I ordered a vanilla cake, which cost 20 dollar because everything with fruits or very nice decoration was 20+ dollars. bleh. Not to mention, the cake was really small.
I was expecting the frosting on the cake to be light and delicious. BOY WAS I WRONG. It tasted like a SHAW'S cake. Bummer. If I wanted a Shaw's cake I would have went to Shaw's and got a bigger cake for cheaper.
I'll stick with Konditor Meister. At least I get strawberries in my 20 dollar cake there.
I'll be back to try the other pastries though. -

You have to try the carrot cake! It is the best I've ever had and the slice is enormous! There's a ton of really nice pastries that have a great presentation to choose from but make sure you don't leave without at least one slice of carrot cake.

Not up to par, if standards are mikes pastries! or modern pastries at the North End.
We were going to a dinner gathering so I decided to grab a mix of pastries for the night.
Got a handful of cannolis, "red velvet cake", cream puffs, and carrot cake.
I tried the cannoli which was decent.
Red velvet cake was not red velvet but more like red cake with regular vanilla frosting on top.
I was expecting cream cheese-y frosting and was sad to realize it wasn't.

Very good bakery. I like their pastries and cakes. The bread was ok. Few words about cakes, they are beautiful & delicious (five stars for that). Sometimes they created something unique you can't get at any other place.
Convinient parking. Service is so-so since they hire only high school students. I wish they have store in Cambridge. -

I ordered three different desserts. A key lime pie tart, a cheese cake slice and a fruit tart. They were beautiful looking desserts, but honestly, I was disappointed with the flavor and overall taste. Quite bland. I really wished that they tasted as good as they looked. I really wanted to like them. Unfortunately, it was much better when it was White's. My date agreed with me about the flavor and was underwhelmed also. On the upside, the service was prompt and good.

I have been to Ivys a half dozen or so times and I am yet to leave satisfied. The last item i got there was a slice of strawberry cheesecake. It was awful. The slice a strawberry in half and put it on top and then lay a coat of sticky yucky strawberry gel over it. the cake itself tasted like cardboard. I think the no bake jello stuff is better. I have also tried the chocolate cake with either strawberries or raspberries and that was OK. The muffins are good but no better than Shaw's. the frosted brownie was the best thing i got it the place.
I keep going back because it is local but i am now going to search for a better local bakery. -

Okay, where can you get a bakery quality frosted chocolate brownie where you can peel off the frosting? Let me think for a moment. IVY'S FINE CAKES AND PASTRY. Seriously, I peeled off the frosting from a frosted brownie! The brownie itself was very much the quality of Little Debbie. So, if you're looking for a frosted chocolate brownie it's so much cheaper to go across the parking lot to Shaw's and pick up a box of Little Debbie's brownies a carton of milk and enjoy!

I was extremely underwhelmed. For years I would have to travel at least 20 minutes to get to a bakery, so I was extremely excited when I moved around the corner from Ivy's. What a waste of money. I bought a slice of carrot cake and 2 fruit tarts. $3.75 for the cake and also for each of the tarts. The tarts were OK but the cake so so dry I feel it hard to believe that it was baked that day. I wont be going back there.

I went in to grab some Easter desserts and came out 35 minutes later. They really need to rethink their way of serving customers, to get them in and out quickly! I bought a banana cream pie and Oreo cake and found the prices reasonable. Can't wait to try the desserts.

Horrible! Everything in the case looked old and dried up. I bought 6 mini pastries - -the cannolis were somewhat fresh but tasteless.......the red velvet cake, cheesecake and carrot cake were stale stale stale! Disgusting! And just so you know - - the stuff in the Braintree shop is just as bad! Wht's wrong with this place? Can't they read the terrible reviews and change their way of doing business? Don;t bother with this place!
