Any woman in her right shopping mind can't resist stopping in Ivy Hill - it's a fact! They carry some of the most adorable coats, dresses and handbags. I recently purchased a pair of earrings here for a good friend of mine. They looked expensive and cost less than $30.
If I was able to manage my money better, I would be a "regular" here. Now that I don't have to buy "work clothes" anymore, I hope to be able to purchase some cute clothes from Ivy Hill!Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - 231690320Jul 26, 2014
This location is closing and has marked down everything 75% off. I bought a $100 BB Dakota dress, an earring display case, a tank and a couple of other items for $55. They'll only be open for another week, and their other location in Ladue will be their only location.

Just what this corner in the CWE needed. Ivy Hill boasts a charming, well-edited selection of clothing, jewelry, and accessories (though, alas, no shoes). I came here on the recommendation of a friend and found the store to be refreshingly attitude-free. There was a small sale rack, and, though I would have preferred the dressing rooms to have doors (as they were facing the entrance) it was an overall stress-free, pleasant, shopping experience. Among stalwart labels Orla Kiely, French Connection and 525 there were also a few unknowns at reasonable price points.

I've been in here a couple of times during my years at SLU and I usually walk out with one or two small items. I never really found any clothing I liked enough to drop $200 on (poor student here) but I did find two amazing things:
- Rose Earrings. They are just too cute! I want them in every color.
- Bag tags. I got one shaped like a big ice cream cone. It's metallic pink and it really brightens up my generic all-black roller luggage and makes my bag easier to spot on the conveyor at the baggage claim. I am amazed at how well it has held up over the years.
I debated buying the Groupon for Ivy Hill because I figured $25 for $50 worth of stuff is a pretty good deal BUT when I looked at their website, they didn't have any clothing for under $50, just bags and necklaces and stuff. I guess maybe I might have to go to the store and see if there's anything I'd want on the sale rack that I could use the discount for. It kind of sucks being a poor college kid.
Anyway I guess I kind of rambled there, lol, but anyway. w.r.t. customer service, I've always been greeted by a very friendly lady (or two) behind the counter and they always seem like they're in a good mood and willing to help you find something--even when I roll in with 3-4 noisy girlfriends in tow. ;)
BTW if you are a fashionista/brand-lover, you'd probably like this place. If you are a poor college kid, you might still like this place, just not able to afford much of the designer brands. If that's the case, college kids, I'd recommend you check out the boutique on Boyle because the most I've ever paid for clothing there was $45something for a dress. But that being said, I like the accessories at Ivy Hill a lot better than other nearby places.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Marjie T.St Louis, MO43339188Jan 7, 2011Updated review
Ok, I promise this is my last Ivy Hill update as I'm sure everyone is getting sick of hearing about my saga. BUT, I have to upgrade them after getting a charming email from Ivy Hill owner, Hillary. I really blasted them in my previous two reviews because of the lack of verbal acknowledgement about their store credit only returns and all sale items are final sales policies.
Hillary apologized for all the confusion and explained their policies in detail. She also let me return the top I bought on sale for store credit. So my very bitter feelings have turned into warm and fuzzies thanks to one simple email. If only all small business owners were so involved...Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

As she mentioned, I did speak with Marjie and we were able to come to a solution and resolve the issue. I also addressed some of the questions she had about our return policy that I'd like to share here:
"Unlike larger chain stores who can financially handle the return of clothing for cash back, as a small business this is not an option for us. When we implemented our return policy we checked with other boutiques in the area such as Blush, Valerie Mills, and Susan Lynns, who all have similar policies as Ivy Hill : SALE items are final, and exchange for store credit only. We are of course more than happy to be reasonably flexible on the number of days for exchange for non-sale items within our policy. We make it a common practice to tell all customers who purchase a sale item, that it is final sale and not exchangeable. Clearly, we missed informing you of this policy and for that I apologize. We do have our return policy posted at the check-out counter, on our website online, and on the actual sales receipt."
As always, we strive to have exceptional customer service and offer a warm and welcoming environment for all of our customers. If you have any questions or issues please feel free to call us. We believe that our store policies are in line with most of the other small boutiques in the St. Louis area and continue to thrive on our loyal customers and people who love to make "shopping locally" a practice. Thank you - we look forward to seeing you in the store!Dec 23, 2010Previous reviewOk, I've HAD IT with this place. First, I show up at 10:30 Saturday morning (the Saturday before Christmas, mind you) and it's closed. Ok, I figured they were just running a little late. So I stand outside in the freezing cold for 10 minutes waiting for them to open and they still aren't there. I call to see if someone is just slow getting the door unlocked, but no one is inside. If you can't open on time on the Saturday before Christmas, then something is wrong with you. I don't know what time they finally opened because I got frustrated and left since it was the Saturday before Christmas and I had a ton of places to go.
Ok, next. I've already ranted about their return policy and how I've gotten burned on it, but it just happened again. I bought a Free People top for $75, originally $100, changed my mind and wanted to return it. But oh no, all sale items are final sale. Again, that would have been helpful to know before I made the purchase!
Also, maybe it's time they upgraded to an actual computer register instead of the manual thing they got going on. It's reliant on the cashier being smart enough to manually enter in the sales. I used a 15% email discount and the girl rung it up and told me my 15% savings on a $100 total was $4. Um, no.
Please, please Ivy Hill if you're going to have really strict policies, be very upfront with your customers. Don't expect every customer to read the tiny sign on the back wall or automatically know that there are no returns, you only have 10 days to exchange something, or a top you get for 25% off is final sale. Or, here's a thought, loosen up your policies!Oct 25, 2010Previous reviewSorry, Ivy Hill, but I have to seriously drop your rating after my last experience. I went in last week for the 30% off anniversary sale and bought two cute tops. Even with the 30% off it still cost me over $200. I get home and the tops that were so adorable in the dressing room are not so great at home. No biggie, I thought, I'll just return them. WRONG. They don't do refunds, only store credit. That would be fine if I was informed of that before my purchase. And I've shopped here multiple times before and never knew about this. The sales lady points to a tiny sign on the wall behind the register that explains their policy. Again, not helpful. So now I'm stuck with a store credit that I may or may not get around to using. I'm so irritated because if you have a policy like that, you should inform EVERY customer.
Dec 22, 2009Previous reviewIvy Hill is a cute little boutique with a pretty good selection of clothing, bags, jewelry, and accessories. As is to be expected, the "charming" atmosphere comes with high price tags. They do have a nice sale corner, which I prefer to frequent. They do get extra points for the friendly sales staff; very helpful and nice. I was a little disappointed after I bought a really cute dress that I thought would be somewhat original, and then found the exact same dress in Macy's...for cheaper. Overall though, a nice addition to the CWE.

The woman at the counter was really nice. There are tons of cute little finds in this shop! Loved the variety. Something felt a little off though. Not sure what.
I love that they showcase local designers here!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Raya K.San Francisco, CA19322079Apr 25, 2011
This place is my #1 splurge spot in Saint Louis. Anytime this poor grad student lands on some extra cash, I make an Ivy Hill run. I recently took my two best friends here while they were visiting and we ravaged through all the accessories. I left with a necklace with a gold fleur de lys charm and my birthstone . My friends snagged Big Buddha bags on sale that I had bought full price at Nordstrom a few months back. They also got their friends and sisters necklaces and earrings as Saint Louis souvenirs. Beats a shot glass!
Besides having awesome accessories, this place has no shortage of gorgeous clothing. You can tell that each piece was chosen with careful thought. No rummaging through racks here, you just pick up and love! Sure, most of it is super expensive but this isn't H&M quality clothing.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jezebelly S.St. Louis, MO13977Aug 24, 2011
Okay, I'm NOT traditional trendy boutique shopper (comfort style, jeans, great shoes, vintage, etc)....however, when I'm in the area, I like to stop here to look at accessories.
Their jewelry is FAB. I am in love with Nicole Richie's line of jewelry, House of Harlow, which they carry here at prices that are reflective of internet store. If you like mid-century, modern, retro pieces, stop in here to check out this line. It's not cheap for what it is (base metals, costume), but its very cool.
This shop has other fun jewelry at all price points.....some of them rather cheap.
If you dig the clothing, they always have a rack that is deeply discounted.
The location is sandwiched in between Culpepper's & SubZero on Euclid. Check it out.....you won't leave empty handed.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Giana C.San Francisco, CA134411Jul 16, 2013
Ivy Hill is my go to in the CWE for a date night outfit, a birthday gift for a girlfriend, some funky accessories and just about everything in between. Ivy Hill carries some unique brands that cross all price points and they truly have great options for all occasions. I also love that they carry some local STL designers...how awesome! Icy Hill also has some great seasonal sales, I always walk out with more than I planned during their sales! Their staff is just the best, they are so helpful and offer honest opinions on how somethings looks when I can't decide. Plus the store is absolutely adorable, I love the set up and it's organized very well.

Ivy Hill is an upscale clothing boutique with an adorable and unique selection of clothing and items in a small, friendly, and accessible setting. They make upscale shopping accessible for the average person. Although I don't earn enough money to shop there regularly, I like to stop in for gifts and to see what unique items they have to offer. The staff is classy yet down-to-earth...everything the average shopper wants in a boutique that offers quality items and extra-special pieces to aspire to!
