Had a really nice meal here. We were in the mood for red sauce so I had the eggplant and my husband had a pasta dish. Both were excellent. All of the pasta dishes can be ordered full or half size. The half size was incredibly generous. If you are not in the mood for tomato sauces, there are many other options. There were two fish specials that sounded so good...only wish we could have returned. The table next to us ordered the antipasti and I overheard them tell their waiter that it was better than some they had in Italy. We ordered a Chianti and pinot gris...both were very enjoyable and well priced. We finished our meal with spumoni ice cream and a couple of incredible pecan cookies. Highly recommend.

My favorite dish here is the shrimp scampi. The shrimp are large and cooked till they are firm, yet moist. The sides of pasta and house vegetables are delicious but I usually need help finishing my plate.
My dinner companion usually orders the esoteric dishes on the menu such as wild boar ragu or buffalo steak. He never complains about the dishes and only raves about his choices.
My favorite dessert is the chocolate mousse. I highly suggest taking this home and eating it with your fingers for some fun! hahaha!! Ok, just kidding. I always order the chocolate mousse even though I am stuffed. There are bits of chocolate in the mousse that enhances the chocolate experience. Yum!
You can't beat the value for this wonderful establishment! It is the iconic restaurant in Sandpoint, Idaho. Solid food with reasonable prices. Friendly service and a warm fireplace during the winter ... What more could you want? Family friendly atmosphere is what Sandpoint is about.
**Side note: They offer a gluten-free menu for those who have allergies! How thoughtful is that?! They are an awesome family run restaurant ... -

Sandpoint, Idaho: we had an excellent dinner at Ivano's. Interesting creations, professionally prepared an infusion of many flavors ... excellent wine list .... ambiance superb!

Ivanos is one of the top 3 restaurants in town and compares well with Italian restaurants in big cities. You simply cannot go wrong eating here when visiting Sandpoint.

We love your pizza menu, especially that it's available with a glueten-free option. And of course we love the wine list and that you make our local creation a part of your menu. If Jesus Christ himself were to come back to earth in the form of an Italian Restaurant, it would be Ivanos. That is the only possible way for me to describe the religious experience you will find within the walls of this restaurant.
For those of you who love eating authentic Italian, just know that this place is owned and managed by an Italian family. This creates an atmosphere and stye one simply cannot obtain at an Olive Garden. If you want the good stuff, you gotta go straight to the source.
There are so many delicious meals at a reasonable price, you could spend a lifetime coming in and trying them all, never feeling fully content simply because you must have more. Some recommendations that I would prescribe would be the Tortellini Ivanos, the flank steak, or, on occasion, the Cioppino. If you are lucky enough to visit this restaurant while the Ciopinno is being served, try your best not to eat the plate as you greedily stuff your face with the most spectacular substance known to man.
As for those who have left poor reviews, the majority of them are from California. People from California often times spend much of their day in the sun. This is not only bad for their skin, but also apparently has horrific affects on their taste buds. Plus the Lakers suck. In conclusion, I say don't listen to pompous, know it all boobs from California. Come get some of the BEST ITALIAN FOOD ON EARTH!!! -

I was taken here by my grandparents who are residents and I am visiting from out of town. I am bummed because I live so far away and can't go back! I had there pesto pasta and it was so good! We all had wonderful meals! There prices were really reasonable, there atmosphere was really awesome (we sat outside on their patio area, and the only thing I can complain about is that it was noisy from traffic but that isn't their fault). Love this place and hopefully when I am in Sandpoint I will be able to go there again!

Was in town on business. Was looking for a great meal to splurge on. So glad I went to Ivano's. The wine was great. Anti pasta was amazing. Ravioli was generous!! I walked away completly satisfied. Such a great find in Sandpoint. The chef is doing somehting right!

I'm not gonna use the word bad, but being that I'm Italian, this place leaves a lot to be desired. For what is sold as an upscale dining experience, the flavor just isn't there. Sorry.

We made reservations and were seated almost immediately. The restaurant was pretty busy and we waited a long while for our waitperson. Before we wondered if we should flag someone down, someone from bar came over and took our drink order (which we greatly appreciated). The food was good and the portions were large. If I am back in Sanpoint, I'll probably visit this place again.

We were starving, and the food wasn't bad, so it fit the bill, but it wasn't anything special. My husband had a sub par martini, although I fault him for ordering a martini in the pac northwest--stick with what they know--coffee, beer and wine--and the bread was meh. We had a nice bottle of wine that wasn't overpriced, and the service was friendly. But Sandpoint is packed with good places to eat--I'd try Spuds or one of the other restaurants in the downtown area if you're looking.

I have been to Ivano's many times and the food is all ways good. They have a ok wine list and a full bar. The food is Italian and they have many traditional dishes to offer. I usually get some kind of cream sauce pasta dish and usually leave stuffed. Be smart and get the 1/2 portions and a salad. The reason I can not give Ivano's four stars is it seems every time I go there I stand at the hostess counter and I am ignored or told to hang on for a while and then I am ignored. The bar is right there and the bartender will chat with his friends as you stand there waiting to be noticed. Ivanos needs to kick the front of the house in the butt and make their customers feel special, for that reason you will find me at Arlo's.

We have enjoyed wonderful meals at Ivano's for many years----first as tourists, and (now) as residents. Food is consistently very good, owners are personable and eager to please, servers are well trained and the atmosphere is lovely. Try the veal picatta, chicken marsala, eggplant parmesan or your favorite pasta dish. Pasta is always cooked to perfection!

we stop here a lot on the way up to Schweitzer for the weekend- food is almost always delicious but you have to order well. Menu is fairly standard Italian with a couple interesting things thrown in there (pappardelle with sausage and rabbit? sounds delicious, but then falls short of expectations). I recommend going with one of the specials as it makes your decision easier and will likely be very tasty.
