Wow. Cant believe that my first review was about 3 years ago.  I still feel the same.  So I felt that should be noted that this place and Cindy are legit.  She has stood the test of time.  I love my vintage jewelry i get from here and all the people that are in this special diva club.  I will be at the holiday cocktail party for sure.  Cheers!

This place is sooo cute!  Considering I bore of everything pretty quickly, I often hesitate dropping serious dough on purses and jewelry.  This place is perfect for people like me.  You get high end products at a faction of the price, and you don't have to worry about that first scratch on an item you just spend your paycheck on.

I haven't really talked to Cindy much, but I heard she's a really interesting person.  I liked the fact she offered help, but left me to my own accord when I said I was just looking around.  I hate it when people hover.

p.s.  The expansion does look nice!

What a great find!  Everything is well organized and displayed in the store.  The owner is really sweet and knowledgeable and took the time out to chat with us.  There's so many quality vintage pieces for great prices.  They even have an online store for those of us who live far from San Jose!

I  recently discovered vintage and consignment shopping as a way of satisfying my champagne taste on a beer budget.  Cindy's shop is an excellent place to find high-end as well as designer brand handbags, fine jewelry, vintage pieces, shoes, and fur coats.

Cindy has a good eye for interesting pieces in good condition, and always stocks her store with interesting finds.  So far I have purchased a small Gucci "Jackie O" handbag in black leather, a fan-shaped gold beaded clutch, and most recently, a limited edition Marc Jacobs black leather handbag.  This last purchase was a little on the pricey side, but she let me buy this on layaway.  She was very accommodating in adjusting the payment schedule when I had to leave for 2 weeks to get married.

She carries a large selection of high-end shoes by Cole Haan, christian Louboutin, etc.  Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find any in my size (5.5), but if you have larger feet than me, you might have better luck.

One thing I like about Cindy is that she takes the time to learn about the pieces from the sellers, and passes this information on to the customer.  It's always fun to hear the history behind the merchandise.  She also is good about giving you an honest opinion about a piece you might be considering.  I have never felt pressured into buying anything from her.

There is a good selection of vintage jewelry, handmade pieces by local designers, fine jewelry, and costume jewelry.

She is currently in the process of renovating the store to expand the space and add a section featuring vintage clothing.  Can't wait!

When I'm told that a shop only carries designer brands (current and vintage) and will gladly accept gold, I have to wonder. Sure, I'll gladly accept gold too given the current price. Go there for your used Gucci bag. As for designer jewelry, stick with a jeweler you trust. Consignment shops (unless there is a gemologist present), can't verify what you are buying. Also, the settings may be loose.  Whoops! My gemstone just fell out. Fur coats? Not for me.  Cruelty in motion.

My first Yelp review and it turned to be a bummer! I was so excited to check this place out and by the time I got there...the sign said CLOSED!!! WTF...it also says Open at 11:30...hmmm...I got there 5 minutes to 12:00 and no one was there! STRAIGHT WACK...I TELL YOU!!!
Double BOO to IT'S A GIRL THING...should be called more like IT'S A WACK THING!!! Even more Wack when my boyfriend & I went across the plaza for a quick massage...yep you guessed it....still CLOSED more than an hour past the sign! Don't you know "TIME IS MONEY"!!! Step ur game up honey!!!

My sister-friend and fellow Yelper, Janice S., made a stop here after perusing through Black & Brown because it was on my list of thrift and consignment spots to hit up in SJ. And I was not disappointed one bit. And she said it best, "It's like a Sex and the City closet." And I agree - I very much imagine Carrie Bradshaw's closet to look a lot like It's A Girl Thing.

Once you walk in, you can't help but gawk and be in awe of the plethora of designer handbags and purses from the likes of Louis Vuitton and Kate Spade and designer shoes from Salvatore Ferragamo, Yves Saint Laurent, and Manolo Blahnik, just to name a few. Walking and looking around in the store is essentially haute-couture heaven.

After not finding some flats or low heels at Black & Brown, I found some gorgeous Ferragamo black low heels at $74. If you check-in here on Yelp, you get a 10% discount, so the heels came to $66.60. And she knocked off 10 cents because the triple 6's was kinda creepy to her, which we too thought was creepy but also hilarious that she'd change it. So the total with tax came to less than $73. And if you look on Neiman Marcus's website, Ferragamo shoes go for upwards of around $300-500 BEFORE TAX. Cindy was super helpful and friendly; she even gave Janice and me the best compliment you can give to women - saying you look way younger than you really are. ;)

Cindy also told us that she'll be expanded soon! The left wall (when you enter the store) will be torn down and she's even adding a guy's section (It's A Guy Thing!)

I can't wait to come back and see what "new" stuff Cindy gets for the store and to see the new expansion! Don't bother making a trip to the mall for your designer accessories; come to It's A Girl Thing!

    Lied, discourteous.

Cindy told me to bring in my vintage clothing to discuss consignment.  I explained I had mostly basic, mens vintage clothing to consign eg. coats, shirts, bags.  Also told her I  had considered selling on Ebay but didn't have the time.  She said fine, come on in!  So I loaded my car up w/20 items.

When I got to her store she told me she doesn't sell basic vintage clothing.  She then told me I should try selling my clothes on Ebay.  Are you kidding me!!!  When I asked why she lied she said at least "you got to come see my store".  No apology, no explanation.

Cindy, if you want vintage clothing dealers to visit your shop just say so.  Don't lie, its bad for business.   And apologize when your wrong, thats good for business.

****SUPPORT THE MOM AND POP SHOPS****

You hear me scream this tried and true message from my soap box time and time again...almost like a broken record.

"It's a Girl Thing" is no exception.

Are you a husband, boyfriend, girlfriend looking for a gift to make your partner feel fuzzy?
Are you one of those gals not concerned with trends, but more with classic style?
Do you love jewelry and fabulous accessories?
Do you enjoy supporting women owned, local shops that from time to time feature local artists?

If you answered yes, quit faking the FUNK and head to shop.

The owner is a bad ass, the store is super clean, and the prices are reasonable. Vintage jewelry, shoes, belts, purses, and everything in between.  Complete with witty banter, you will probably shop for an hour with not even realize it.

I have purchased a couple of items from this shop, and even gifted items to friends.  I enjoy the "treasure hunt" adventures, complete with a musical soundtrack.

If you are looking to buy OR sell some of your high end goodies, guess what...there's a place for you!  Yeah you, the closet freak who loves to smell the inside of leather of purses with a certain pizzazz!

Viva consumerism and the recycle movement!

I am going to give you a BIG HINT...my birthday is coming up in March and I want everything in this store....no really...I do!

This is by far my favorite boutique store in the area....actually this is my favorite boutique store anywhere. I cannot believe the first time I stepped foot into this cute little shop was maybe a few weeks ago?! The instant I walked in, I fell in love with all of the items and the store owner is a doll. She is so sweet and outgoing and really knows her products.

There is everything from jewelery, to purses, shoes and hair accessories. If you are buying for a girl friend, sister, Mom, daughter, wife...basically anyone with boobs....this is the store to get a gift at. I have been here twice  now in the past week and have walked out with birthday gifts for friends and earrings for myself. In fact, I plan to take my Mom here for her birthday and tell her to pick out anything she wants. The perfect idea if you don't know what exactly to get the girl in your life.

This is a high end consignment store so you can find all kinds of really nice name brand items for a fraction of the price. Plus Cindy the owner takes great care of the items so some pieces you would never know were owned and loved by someone else.

My birthday is March 14th....just sayin'. I love It's a Girl Thing!

Dropped some major cash on a pair of Chanel earrings that will be on lay-away for a bit longer...I've never seen them before, but Cindy had them. It was like a dream come true.

This store is great for vintage jewelry, purses, and shoes!! Cindy is so personable and freaking hilarious. I'm so happy I was introduced to this great boutique--I have a feeling I'll continue to spend major cash there :)

Happy 3 year anniversary to It's A Girl Thing :)

At my bridal shower my girlfriends gifted me with a generous gift card to It's A Girl Thing. They have a great selection of current/vintage purses, earrings, rings, sunglasses- the list could literally go on and on. Its a great shop to indulge the girly girl in all of us. I picked up an authentic pair of Chanel sunglasses. Cindy the owner is personable and kind.

All the classy ladies know... There's nothing like retail therapy.  But you can take that intoxicating feeling to the next level when you visit It's a Girl Thing.

This boutique gives you that hawt-couture-hunting high that makes you fiene for more Prada or Gucci into your IV.

I've gotten the most glammed-out accessories here at the most unatrocious prices. I have a number of gorgeous vintage pins that I use to be-dazzle up my suits and dresses for work. I've collected some of the most to-die-for vintage jewelry that is is unique beyond my wildest dreams. And, *gasp* for my Cinderella feet  (4.5 - 5 shoe size - I never find cute shoes in my size), I found the dreamiest, BRAND-SPANKING-NEW/never-ever-been-worn-before, ivory CHANEL pumps with heels trimmed in gold. *Fingertips on cheeks, jawed dropped to the floor.* I know, I know!!! *Sigh,* what a find.

I decided in the store, with the help of the other patrons and the lovely woman-owner, Cindy, that these will be my wedding shoes!

I called my best friend after, and she said, "Do you KNOW what you just bought?" as if I hadn't had a clue. I replied, "Of course! They're Chanel! Duh... Timeless!' I'm still in awe.

Plus, my goal is to get all my bridesmaids gifts of vintage pins with some Tiffany blue sparkling somewhere in there.

Ok, back to my favorite finds here. I've also bought a gorgeous vintage Mink stole that compliments so many outfits, some jewelry for my mom, bling for my soon-to-be-mom-in-law, treasures for my best friend, and some other goodies for me. Oooh, and the stories behind each piece! It makes your accessories extra-special when Cindy dishes out the details and history of your charmed item.

Overall, the Shopping Gods always bless me here. May they bless you too.

Gotta update my review....I am a loyal shopper and consigner.  Just LOVE this shop.  If you are an old "shoe dog" like me this is such a great place to browse.  I have to restrain myself from going overboard.  And how does Cindy remember me even if I haven't been shopping there in a few months?  Macy's doesn't remember me if I was there yesterday!

On top of the great merchandise, prices, service, and fun times, It's a Girl Thing actively supports other small local businesses and local charities.  This shop deserves your business, folks.

What on earth? After reading all the great reviews, I went to this store on my lunch hour.  I walked in and NOBODY even looked my way except other customers.  I was so taken aback that I literally just stood there for 30 seconds waiting for someone...something...anything.. to say hello.  In such a small store, it's really awkward to not be acknowledged.  After getting over my initial shock that the "friendly" owner could be soooo rude, I started to browse.  Although I found some cute items, the small store seemed cluttered and a lot of it was really overpriced.  I am all for vintage stores, but the prices also have to be reasonable! It was also hard to focus with so many items and the owner and worker loudly gossiping.

After I had been there for 15 minutes, one of the workers actually took the time to look up from her laptop and ask me how I was doing.  She seemed surprised to see me and said "Oh! You're not with them?" referring to the other customers.  I nodded no and she said "Oh!" and laughed to herself.  That was the extent of her customer service skills.

I found a watch and a purse that I liked, but I was so appalled by the store that I didn't even bother.  So not supporting a place that treated me like a second rate citizen.

Being a bargain shopper & accessory hound - this place is a great little vacation from the norms of digging around in the jewelry & purses at Macy's or Nordstrom Rack for sure!  The best part is you feel like you're going through your Best Friend's closet!  I love it!

If you've always been jealous of your friends with older sisters?  Just swing on in to It's a Girl Thing & you will be JEALOUS no MORE!

Here at this little boutique you have the best selection of treasure's from women all over the bay area.

So many unique pieces of jewelry, fun heels for parties, designer purses that are already broken in but still have the new purse look & smell.

The ladies who work here are great as well!  They will tell you some of the stories behind the things you find interesting.  That gorgeous ring that is being sold because 1 woman can't bare to look at it anymore as her bf that gave it to her cheated!  Claim it as your own, sister!  It's now YOURS! haha

    Good stuff here!

Ooohhh - I love it! I came here last night for the UYE with my best friend, Akia to check out the shop and enjoy some wine and brownies (and talk about boys with Serbelle). It is small, however, they have a ton of things to browse through and I really like their selection of jewelry and purses. I was pretty impressed with the prices - definitely affordable for everyone. I actually ended up recommending this place to a few of my GF's already when I spoke to them last night. I didn't get a chance to speak to the Owner, but she seemed semi-nice (to my friend; but I guess there was some miscommunication for that). Nice to me on Yelp, though - Haha!
This will probably be my new jewelry hunting ground from now on - Good job with everything last night!
P.S. - i have to agree with Elizabeth G. - even though it's smaller than most stores, you can spend hours looking at all of it!

So I had a really awesome, fun review written up last week which I thought I saved on my computer but it's not there. Senility...!

Attended the UYE for 1st year anniversary of It's a Girl Thing last week. The darling owner, Cindy S, invited us all into her shop...uh oh did she know what she was in for?? The store is cute, small, random location and I could see how it might be hard for a small business owner to make a store like this work in a little strip mall...but Cindy seems to have all the right moves for success.

This place is packed to the gills with GIRLIE STUFF. No boys allowed...well unless they are buying goodies for their girlies. This is the kind of place that gives me insant ADD. I can't even focus on one thing...Oh, is that a purse? Oh, I like that bracelet. Oh, did someone bring fried chicken? (Disclaimer...that's not typically there, it was for the UYE though..ha!).

It was so fun to see so many fab gal Yelpers that I see at lots of events, but never got enough time previously to chat with...and meet a few new Yelp gals. It was 2 hours of jam-packed girl time...the estrogen in the store was crazy. Came home with a sweet little clutch for a wedding I'm attending in August and some fake bling for travel. Fun times.

Kudos Cindy on 1 happy year and wishing you many more successful years !!!

Wow..Cindy really knows her stuff, not just the merchandise, but also background history, including where the item came from.

There's always new goodies that get brought in the store, and I can't even tell how to tell a real from a fake, but that Serbelle does.

Serbelle and Cindy helped me pick out a pretty bag and I had to pay for the item in installments.

ZOMG, what has Serbelle taught me?!

when you walk into the store, you will be shocked at all the displays in the store! There is just so much stuff everywhere, you don't even know how to contain yourself! I find it easiest to sweep in a counterclockwise manner, so by the time i'm almost finished, i will be at the register =)

Cindy carries: shoes, purses, earring, brooches, necklace, rings, bracelets, hats, and much more! There are all types of prices you can find, like a chanel purse for $1,000+ to tiny little accessories that cost less than $10.  She even has some Tiffany & Co jewelry which was really nice! Juicy couture purses [i would definitely want to come back for this ... *cross fingers: it will still be there*. There are some "knock" off but its not to mislead you, because the price is definitely priced very accordingly to the product. She will tell you whats real and whats not.

I found these very cute pink pearl earrings, and i was very hesitant with buying them because they are so affordable and not to mention she said it was 14k gold! i am severely allergic to fake jewelry that contains a lot of nickel, so was i was really worried. But Cindy assured me it was real gold, and 2 days with the earrings on, not a worry! I am so relieved, no need for more medicine and doctor visits (hooray!)

I will definitely come back when I'm in the area! thank you cindy and congratulations on your 1year anniversary with the store! =)

I love this store, it's filled with everything you don't really need but absolutely have to have.  I have gotten some amazing "finds" at It's a Girl Thing, a Gucci purse, Chanel sunglasses, the list goes on.  The owner Cindy is awesome, she's always happy to show you items that have just made their way into her store, or things that she thinks fit your style.  Cindy will even email you pics of new stock if you let her know what designers are on your wish list.

For those of you who aren't label conscious you should still check this store out because it's filled with something for everyone and there are items sold here for every budget.  Ironically enough a purse I bought here for $15 wins more raves from my friends than many of it's designer cousins.  When friends ask me where I got it I just smile (I'll never tell)..."wait, what do you mean everybody is going to know once they read my review?  Awww crap, Cindy hide the good stuff and don't let anyone buy it 'til I get there!

This store is so cute...and so dangerous at the same time.  HA HA  There is a large variety of accessories.  Of course, I'm all about the jewelry...and there is enough in there to take an hour or more to go through.  I have to make several rounds to see if there is something I missed.  :)  I bought several earrings and a cute leather clutch I'm going to take to Vegas this summer when I was in there last.  Plus, Cindy is a blast!  I'm tempted to go there just to hang out with her because she is so much fun!

I also had a massage from Joanne there.  Yes...there is a place inside to get a massage and she has magical hands...plus she is also tons o'fun to be around!

These ladies, the atmosphere and the hidden treasures are worth stopping in for!!!  Happy shopping!

As a fan of trying to be myself and not to follow the latest trends, I love spending hours browsing through consignment stores and thrift shops.  Not only can you usually find unique and interesting items, if not the occasional hidden gem, you can get your finds at a fraction of the cost of what you'd pay for them new.

So the other day, while I was up in Willow Glen and had a little bit of time between appointments, I sought out Cindy S.'s shop.  It's a little difficult to find at first, but was totally worth the effort I put in looking for it!

As has been mentioned before, Cindy is extremely friendly and knows her merchandise.  She regaled me with stories about some of the jewelry in the case, and knew exactly how many of my favorite brand of leather goods she had in stock.  But not only is she friendly and ever-so-helpful, she has some REALLY cute stuff in her store!  I was charmed by her selection of vintage jewelry, and even found the perfect necklace to accessorize the basic black I wear when I have events at work.

And now my frugal self can say that I inspected a real LV and tried on Tiffany jewelry--all without having to deal with snooty salespeople. Vicarious logo-lusting with none of the guilt!  Thanks, Cindy!

I heart Cindy (the owner) and I heart It's a Girl Thing!

I brought some of my gently used (some never used) accessories to this store today to consign them and was so impressed with the layout of the the store, the quality of items, and the owner's professionalism.

The store has a wide array of styles, prices, and brands - there truly is something for everyone here.

Who doesn't love cute and affordable accessories - they always fit.

Such a cute place and awesome purses, jewelery, shoes and more.

Cindy put together a great fundraiser 'It's a Charity Thing" last night which supported the Human Soceity.  Cindy, you rock!  Love your store, you and the the great local deeds you do!

I just stopped by to pick up a donation that the owner, Cindy was giving us for our Breast Cancer Auction and an hour later...

I mean, what girl would not stay? There are purses and shoes GALORE at a fraction of the price! A lot of the stuff looks pretty new, or just barely used. Her jewelry collection is also phenomenal.

The place is clean, well laid out, and very inviting. Cindy is also very sweet and really takes her time in assisting you to find just what you are looking for.

This is truly a hidden gem in Willow Glen. Come often as her selection changes daily as things get sold. I will definitely be back!

Are you into fashion? Do you love gorgeous jewelry? Do you have a need to accessorize your outfits to your purses? Do you have to find the perfect pair of sunglasses or shoes or even earrings to go along with your outfit?

If you answered YES to any of the above questions, then you have GOT to hurry over to It's a Girl Thing to shop for the perfect accessory!

I came wandering in after seeing all the reviews on Yelp on a rainy Sunday afternoon and the shop totally delivered. I wandered, gazed, touched, muddled through, and daydreamed about the outfits/parties/events with the accessories. I also was convinced that this gorgeous light blue Furla purse had to be mine. But we don't need to talk about that.

Cindy is amazing. She's welcoming. She's girly. She's got a big heart. And she's got all this amazing tempting stuff to entice you into pulling out your wallet and make your bank account cry. But we all know that it won't cry as much if you bought it at fancy schmancy store with snooty people judging your comfy-but-not-in-style-this-season outfit.

The store is wonderful but it's really Cindy and her warmth that keeps me coming back to gawk at her stuff.

A year and a half after its grand opening, It's a Girl Thing has grown up - thanks largely to Yelp reviews.

I went back to Cindy's shop again yesterday, one of my quarterly trips to South Bay from San Francisco.  Jewelry!  Purses!  Shoes!  Did I say jewelry?  I caved in to my cravings and bought a rudy diamond ring.

A word about Cindy: she has a sales background and has really put it to good use.  She's warm and friendly to everyone that walks in, has obviously managed to get the word out, via Yelp and otherwise, and the amount of merchandise at her shop has probably tripled since its opening.  So much to choose from!  Not to mention how great it is to have a place other than eBay where you can sell things you've fallen out of love with.

I love the store, the whole concept behind it, and most of all.... my newly acquired ruby diamond ring.  Bling bling!  :P

    I LOVE THIS PLACE

Cindy is the best!  She wasn't pushy, and let me have all the time in the world browsing.  I never felt rushed or intimidated, and she even kept my bf company!  I will definately be back soon, especially since I found out that my shibas would be welcome in the store ^_^

It's a Girl thing is such a CUTE LIL SHOP!  The selection is amazing! You can be in there forever and then come back and still find more interesting things.

I can't rave enough about the owner (Cindy) either!  She is a SWEET HEART!  VERY helpful and super nice and not that fake nice that you get in a lot of stores, she is genuinely sweet and cares about helping you and giving you a great service/ experience at her boutique!

Definitely worth the trip no matter where you're from!

What a find this place is! A few friends told me about this place but once I saw my girlfriend in a gorgeous pair of Jimmy Choo's she got here I finally made a point to go in.  It is unlike any other consignment store I have been to, it is all high end designer and vintage accessories - all in very near mint condition (some are brand new).  Everything from Gucci bags and sunglasses, Christian Louboutin shoes and vintage pearls.  I found a brand new LV wallet and near new Tory Burch ballerina flats.  The owner Cindy is a sweetheart and very knowledgeable of designer brands and their current collections.  Last time I was in she had a client who brought in a bunch of new or near new shoes - Chanel, Manolos, Louboutin, etc.

One tip, the place is not visible when you drive into the parking lot of the strip mall it is located in.  You need to drive around the corner from the pizza place, it is nestled in the corner.  The first time I looked for the shop I missed it and thought I had the wrong address.

Oh and if you become a fan of the shop on Facebook Cindy posts new hot inventory items.
