Went here for lunch as I was dealing with a client within walking distance.  Very friendly staff, and my waiter was a nice guy.  Kudos to him too for being able to write his name upside-down (he did so on the paper table-covering with a crayon).

Even though it was prime time for lunch, the food arrived quickly and none of it disappointed.  I ordered the stromboli, which was a little bit different to others I'd had elsewhere.  Good on the cooks for not making it the usual odd shape of pizza crust dough with stuff inside.  They actually made it look like something that required effort.  As another review said, good bread too, and the house salad was nice and refreshing.  Everything was tasty, and after bread, salad, and main course, it really was a pretty good value.  I've had meals from Arby's for comparable money, but they didn't come with waiters who could write their names upside-down.  :)
And of course this food was WAY above Arby's.

I know that a real live Eye-Talian would vehemently deny that this is Italian food...but for a casual take on what we Yanks think of as Italian, it'll work and it's tasty.

I expect to be working for clients in the area again soon, so I'll probably be back to the Italian Oven when I do.

I was really torn between 3 or 4 stars. I settled on three because Ive given better places four. I need to say that the food I order here is usually four star worthy. Today, I ordered the crab ravioli. It was really good. The sauce was a bit on the thick side, but thats the only thing I've found wrong with the meal. The bread was divine and probably worth the price of admission on its own but there are flaws.

First of all, they seem to like their marinara a bit too much. I really like the stuff too but it seems like they said we have good marinara so lets put it on everything! The mussels for our appetizer were covered in it, and while I didn't do a count it seemed like half the dishes on the menu had it on there somewhere. They have a huge menu but it seems a bit misleading when you really delve in.

While I had a good meal on this visit there are times that I've had a bad meal. The pizza is good, the pasta is good, but avoid some of the lesser italian dishes. The mashed potatoes are almost always a bit too dry and the meats a little inconsistent. Those meals are hit or miss at best.

While cozy, the place does feel like a chain because it is one. The dishes, like at most chains, fall short of special and all too often rely on the sauces instead of the freshness of the ingredients themselves. The food is good not special. Give it a shot.

My boyfriend and I went last night and had a great experience. Our server was excellent. I had never had wine before and I wanted to try one, so I asked our server for suggestions. He suggested his favorite so I said I'd go with it. A minute later he came back with two small glasses and said he'd let me try two to compare and make sure I wanted his suggestion. I appreciated his thoughfulness and went with the one he originally suggested. Also, my boyfriend wanted to order a salad after mine came out, and he came back with one and said it was on him. (I'm sure salads don't cost anything but it was a nice gesture :) Anyway, I usually just go for chicken alfredo or something (which is so good, by the way) but I went with the Tuscan Chicken. I can't get over the portions at this place! I took home half. This place is cozy to me, the food is yummy, the service is good--although I haven't been enough to compare our server with previous ones. Couldn't have asked for a better time.

In my opinion, this place is way better than Olive Garden.

Also, if a place has a delicious (free) food at the beginning, I'm usually game, and their bread is SO good. :)

My girlfriend noticed an interstate sign for this restaurant and we decided to exit and give it a try.

Atmosphere was good and the staff were friendly.

The food...Awesome!  We both started with the House Salad and Bread.  If you want something on the bread I recommend using it to mop up the Italian Dressing on the salad over the oil.   I had the Stromboli Deluxe and my girlfriend had the Eggplant Parmesan.  She said that hers was good and I know my was great!.

Definitely will visit this location again and I am looking forward to having my leftovers today.

If you go here looking for good pasta forget it. I ordered the lasagna with meat sauce and the pasta was almost indelible. Same with my wife's cannelloni. Even the greens in the salad were tough. No return visit for me if pasta is on my mind.

Here is my update to Italian Oven.

Overall, there is still much room for improvement.

I ordered the Chicken Marsala this time, and wonders of wonders, there was some flavor.  I was very surprised considering my last foray into this establishment.  The vegetables they served with the dish were hot, but not memorable.  In fact, I would recommend not putting them on the plate.  They did nothing to enhance the dish.  It was almost like they felt obligated.  I wish they felt obligated not to make the mashed potatoes that were served with it so dry.  They are not bad if you use the Marsala sauce to moisten them, but by themselves, have your water glass ready.  I have to say I did enjoy the dish though.

My wife and son ordered the spinach and chicken pizza.  They raved about it.  It is the only thing my wife will order, and the bite I wrestled from her tasted nice.  If my stomach didn't have an issue with onions, this is what I would order.

Take it from me, if you go to Italian Oven, order the pizza.

I-75 travelers will be glad to find this softly-lit gem just a mile east of exit 224.  The Italian Oven used to have locations as far away as Tampa (I remember going there with my parents in the late 1990s), but now serves three communities near Atlanta.

If you've eaten at its competitor, the Olive Garden, you'll be familiar with the sort of food you can get here.  The prices are roughly the same, but the quality is way better.  Instead of iceberg salads, the Italian Oven serves unlimited refills of salad made with baby greens so fresh that they might not ever have been stored in a bag.

Although the pizza fritta is usually made only as a birthday gift, you can order it for about $3.  It's a plate full of fried dough, like a funnel cake but thicker, dusted with powdered sugar and drizzled with chocolate sauce.  A good choice for an occasional indulgence, but eat it quickly.  It's best when it's hot, and your dinner companions will leave you staring in bewilderment at an empty plate.

I eat here a fair amount when I'm visiting family in Henry county.

The food is always really fresh and there is a great selection between traditional pasta dishes, calzones, pizzas etc.

Service is really great and the staff is really attentive.

I've never had a bad experience there.

I frequently go here for lunch. Calzone and salads are good. I find the oil seaso ings for the bread to be a little substandard. Give it a try!

    Food:
    Good selection.  Tasty.

    Prices:
Fair for some items; others reveal their sales depend on the Oven's name to sell.

    Vibes:
2 star.  The vibes are a bit rigid, uptight , uncomfy and uneasy -- maybe it's the location: Eagles Landing area.  I say that mostly with the customers particularly in mind.
