Isle of Capri
2 reviews for Isle of Capri
The food isn't that great, but then again, I am picky!
Gambling...I didn't win anything, but I never do.
Customer Service was outstanding! I love the South! I look forward to visiting at least once a year....
Overall I would give this establishment a 3 because it was just nice to see such upbeat and positive attitudes given the circumstances.
The Isle of Capri is just plain horrible. One year ago, today, I went to Biloxi, Mississippi to visit my fiancee at Keesler Air Force Base. The area was just recovering from Katrina, so the environment was depressing and sad. I could have stayed at the dormitories for free, but thought it would be a nice gesture to provide some revenue for the recovering town.
Before I checked in, the whole negative experience of my trip started. I pulled up to valet and asked them to valet my car. They responded that I should self park my vehicle, but I insisted that I wanted valet parking. The attendant reluctantly took my information and I had to unload my own bags. The front desk was even worse. I seriously was in line for about 10 minutes waiting for the front desk to acknowledge me. They just looked down the whole time before another guest behind me said something. People say that Southern Hospitality is found here....what Southern Hospitality? Even Pee Wee Herman is more hospitable to his buddies at his Playhouse.
However, the room was the best part of my stay. It resembled a tropical theme with wooden fixtures and jungle-like linens. Very interesting and appropriate. The view was phenomenal as it overlooked the Gulf. The other positive experience is their buffet. The dinner buffet costs $20 and they served everything from roast beef to crab legs. The food was delicious and the line to get into the buffet was not long.
Despite these two positive experiences, the overall service completely altered my rating. The overall staff was rude, whether it was in person or on the phone. Biloxi urged tourists everywhere to visit and help them financially. There is no problem with that...just don't go to the Isle of Capri. Instead, visit Beau Rivage or Imperial Palace. Besides, the most exciting part of my stay at the Isle of Capri was checking out....
