Awesome shave ice. This is a place to stop on your way back from Kailua Beach Park or Lanikai. Nice and refreshing.
They sell everything a surf shop sells so do some shopping while you grinding your ice. Remember, buy local.
Super friendly staff.
Try the exotic flavors.

We always stop here after going to the Kailua beach, which means we stop in about once a week.

They don't have mochi (waah!) but I do like the snowcap or the ice cream (or both, why not?).

Pay extra for the cup instead of the paper cone if you have little kids and you're traveling in the car.  A 3 year old with a flimsy cone and the mountain they put on there equals a very very sticky car afterward.

I think that I spoiled myself by going to Matsumoto shave ice because nothing beats it, but if you don't compare these two then you'll really like Island Snow Hawaii. $2.75 for a cup of shave ice coated with three flavors (out of about 20) of your choosing and a scoop of vanilla ice cream at the bottom of the cup. The lilikoi (passion fruit) is delicious and I recommend it.

They also have clothes, sunglasses and accessories for sale there. They're the typical expensive beach brands (Roxy, Billabong, etc). By the way, all of the employees (both men and women) are GORGEOUS and friendly.

I think this place is better than Matsumotos on North Shore. This place is way less crowded, gives you more options w/ icecream at the bottom of the cup, & it just plain taste better.

I remember seeing a decal for Island Snow in Hawaii and I did not know what it meant. I finally found out today. Located by Kailua beach this shaved ice shop is in a class of it own.

I ordered the large cup of shaved ice which featured the three out  of approx. twenty flavors that you can order but here is the kicker. They add vanilla ice cream to the bottom. Yummy!  The price was $2.75. Definelty worth checking out, President Obama already did. They have family pictures posted in the store.

Very good service but this place can get crowded.

I work in IT and my business "friends" recommended this place to me. At first, I thought it was some sick joke that the business plays on IT to get me to drive to the other side of the island and possibly get beat up, but it turned out to be the best shave ice I have ever had.  I don't know how these guys do it but they sell apparel and shave ice in the same place.

Really gratifying after a day of kayaking.  Our guide told us President Obama got some shave ice for kids here.  Snow cap is a must.  Li Hing Mui, Lilikoi, and Guava...mmm....delish!  There wasn't a line when we first got there, but after 10 minutes a line had formed out the door.

At first I thought it was just shave ice. Now I find out it's got gear too? WTF! I'm in love. Rookies order in the cones, pros get the cup and never have to worry about the melt going down your elbow.

Me? A mango, ono orange and pineapple. Yep. That sounds SO good right now. Nice clothes , esp. if you're looking for local Kailua fits!

A short walk from Kailua beach park, Island Snow Hawaii is a refreshing treat. They have tons of flavors and you get three, so go crazy! Be sure to get the "to go" size; it's easier to eat and won't drip through the bottom.

after a hard day of kayaking, good to get a shave ice here for 2 bucks.  really good stuff, better than some of the more "famous" joints I was checking out around town...but perhaps that was due to me be scorched for a few while kayaking.

My first shave ice experience did not disappoint! This place has fast, friendly service with cheap prices ($2-$4) and large portions. I can't compare it to any other Hawaiian shave ice place since this was my first, but it sure was delicious! Plus there was a line before and after we got there--a sure sign that this place is popular among the locals. Oh, and make sure you get the "snow cap" with your order, it's an extra $0.50 and sooo well worth it.
