Dr. Brian Irvine came highly recommended by a friend of mine and he was definitely right on the money!
The chiropractor I saw every once in a while stopped taking insurance, so I was paying a lot out of pocket when I went to see him, which got to be really expensive, so I stopped going... bad idea!
One morning I threw my back out after turning away from the bathroom sink while sneezing... ouch! I couldn't stand up and had to walk slower than a turtle. I managed to make it to work, but it was challenging getting to my desk. A friend of mine saw the pained look on my face and asked what happened. A bit embarrassed, I told him I sneezed and threw out my back. After we had a quick chuckle over that, he referred me to Dr. Irvine and I'm so glad he did!
I called their office and said I was referred to them. They knew my friend well and managed to squeeze me in that afternoon. When I arrived, the receptionist greeted me and got me set for my appt (and they do take insurance - yay!).
The office staff is stellar! They put some hot packs on me and did some electro therapy which was a new procedure and it felt great. I can't remember if I got a massage that day, but when I went back for follow-up treatments, I did take advantage of the massage therapy. My massage therapist, Rebecca, has the most awesome touch. She's gently but at the same time able to find all the knots and work them out.
Dr. Irvine is wonderful! He is so friendly... he put me right at ease. He focuses and sets out to resolve the immediate issue, then when you're ready, gives you exercises and tips to improve your overall health. He's genuinely interested in you and your life and loves to talk about his family as well.
I went to see him at his medical office in Redondo Beach, which is a great facility (much nicer and more parking than the Pier). I highly recommend Dr. Irvine and would still be going to him if he were closer in proximity.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Me ..South Bay112146129Jul 9, 2007First to Review
Anyone looking for a good chiropractor? this is the place to go. I love Dr. Brian Irvine. I was originally scared to go to a chiropractor, thinking and hearing that it's an "addicting" thing and that once you go.. you feel better but you have to keep on going back. i was also scared to have all my bones cracked, especially my neck.
Dr. Irvine was referred to me by a couple very reliable sources whom i trust. I am so thankful i decided to give it a try. His philosophy is great. He's out to try to find out what your problem is.. help yo uto resolve it and tha'ts it.. if after exhausting all possible options, and he feels that any more further therapy would not help improve the condition, he will tell you and advise you to stop treatment and refer you elsewhere. He also will not crack any bones you don't feel comfortable cracking. I allow him to adjust me b/c i trust he knows what he's doing and it also feels good! :)
I had severe neck problems that was causing a lot of anxiety and pain. I went to see him and after about 6 treatments of deep tissue (NMR)--not the usual relaxing deep tissue massage--this one hurts and lasts only about 15 minutes. my pain subsided significantly. the range of motion improved more than 50%.
i finally was in a state that i was comfortable being in and one that didn't bother me.
after my neck was healed, i pretty much didn't go back for a good 2 years until my neck problem came back (neck problem is work induced).
did the same routine and was good as new again.
This time my lower back was really bothering me for almost 2 months. i tried shiatsu massages, deep tissue massages elsewhere.. the relief was good..but shortlived.
i finally decided i'd go see dr. irvine again and he recommended that i do the NMR treatments again. i just went for my first today. a few more and he believes i should be ok again.
He's wonderful. The sweetest guy, and he'll spend as much time w/ you as you need if you want further explanations behind treatments.. the staff there is very sweet as well. Everytime i go there, i spend about 1 hour there, but it's so relaxing and i always end up taking a nice nap there (b/c while i'm waiting for dr. irvine, i have a heat pack on and electrostimulation to help relax the muscles).
If anyone is having problems with muscle aches and soreness that doesn't seem to go away, i highly recommend this chiropractor. He's wonderful and really cares about you. He's definitely not about "making the money".Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
