Review from Casey W.
Milwaukee, WI
My family and I got together for my parents wedding anniversary and we were able to catch the boat and have a great cruise... it was a little dullsville for the kids.. but I think everyone in Milwaukee should experience it at least once. You get some beautiful views of the city!! Great picture taking! Remember to board early as you want to get a seat on the edge.... there was a bar, but I don't know what the prices were like..
We were able to walk down to the Rock Bottom for some beer and apps on the river - it was a perfect day to spend in downtown Milwaukee! -

I'm with Joe on the harbor tour thing--and the length and price assessment. The Iroquois reminded me of the standard ferry you ride anywhere in the world--from the Strait of Gibraltar to Hong Kong I've been in similar vessels--but the opportunity to see the Calatrava from the water and get a different perspective on a new city make the trip worth it. While we were out we did see the recreation of a nineteenth century sailboat that evidently also offers tours of the lakefront, and I've read about the dinner tour aboard the Edelweiss, so there is no dearth of options for waterside tours of Milwaukee, but this seems the best to "test the waters" (so to speak) about whether spending a little more for one of the more refined versions is worth your while.

I'm a sucker for any kind of harbor tour------being out on the water in a big boat while sipping a cocktail is one of the most civilized pleasures I know of. Milwaukee's harbor isn't the largest or most interesting waterfront I've seen, but it does have a decent variety of sights. The tour starts off amidst downtown high-rises, chugs south about a half-mile or so on the Milwaukee River through an old industrial/warehouse district, passes under a tall freeway bridge and circles around in the outer harbor, where the city's moribund commercial piers are located. The Iroquois is kind of a funky old tub, but that only added to its charm, for me at least. Personally, I think this is one of the most fun things to do in Milwaukee. I just wish it lasted a little longer ( or they knocked a buck or two off the price of the tour).
