POSSIBLY!  the best jerk chicken- in Boston there was another place near Geneva Ave. that may have been better, so I have to try both again to compare. The folks there are nice!  Food is tasty and addictive  and portions are decent, however I heard the oxtail is not always consistent tasting. What's up with running out of my favorite TING "TING"??
Please stock up on the ting and Irish Moss

5/24I picked up some dinner this evening! Still no irish Moss , but I was happy to get my Ting.
The Curry chicken was pretty good  and the jerk spicy and oh so smokey! The peas and rice was not quite on point . I may have to treck a little further for more consistent flavor to savor from flames??

Excellent. The food was flavorful and skillfully prepared. Though I have only had Jamaican food a handful of times, this is easily the best I remember. The shrimp curry was particularly delicious. The atmosphere was slightly intimidating at first, but soon became welcoming and relaxed. The food may not be quite as cheap as you'd expect, but it's not expensive either. Four or five stars; I'll bump it up for uncommonness. A short walk from the Fields Corner T stop. Worth the trip if you're hankering for something different.

**** Hands-Down Best Jerk Chicken in Boston *****

My former coworker came from Jamaica.  This is where she regular dine.  She introduced me to the authentic Jerk chicken and Caribbean cuisine.  I has been hooked since.  I had to beg her for almost a year to give me the name of this restaurant after I ate the take out she brought in for me. This place cook the best Jamaican jerk, lots of spice and heat but the most flavorful.  People there are always welcoming and friendly. It is one of my favorite dining out spot in Boston. There is nothing fancy about this place except reggae songs and best comfort food.  They serve you huge portion so go empty stomach.

A cheap great eat with true Caribbean fare.  I love Irie and people there.  They make me feel being a part of their family, not just a regular clientele.

If it's authentic Jamaican/Caribbean food that you crave, then there really is no other choice then to make the trip out to the Dot for the Oxtail stew at Irie Jamaican. Lucky for me I live up the street and can stop by here for a Beef/Chicken patty when I need a quick snack, but even if you must travel, it is well worth the trip.

After trying to recreate Jamaican patties from Jamaica in my own kitchen, with only moderate success, I solicited advice from Yelpers as to where I should go and Eli said I had to try Irie. Of course he was right. Walking into Irie on a dreary day was like stepping out of Boston and into Jamaica sunshine. Its bright, colorful, friendly and in addition to the patties and jerk chicken, you really should try the mango smoothie. mmmm.

Last night we took the two minute walk to Irie Jamaican Restaurant on Bowdoin Street in Dorchester. For those of you who don't live in Dot or haven't been there, you should know that not all restaurants are as inviting as the Ashmont Grill. At some of them, you might feel really out of place at first. But do not be discouraged!

We walked in at 7pm and looked around to no avail for a menu. The place is brightly lit, there were lots of people in line ordering food, and they recently expanded to include a nice space with ten or so tableclothed tables. We must have looked confused because a very nice gentleman came over to where we were and asked if we needed help. Since we still hadn't located a menu, I asked him to tell me what everything was in the counter area and everything they could possibly cook for us in the back. This guy was so helpful and in the end we basically let him put together a smorgasbord of food for take-away. We got two medium containers filled with jerk chicken, curried goat, plantains, and rice and beans; a small container with just freshly cooked plantains; and two beef patties. This cost us around $20 but we had enough food for dinner for two, lunch leftovers for two, and there's still another tupperware in the fridge at home for tomorrow. The food was delicious. The beef patty was warm and spicy. The jerk chicken was buttery goodness, the goat super tasty, and the plantains were out of this world (a woman in line behind us had come in just to get an order of plantains).

They also have cake and ice cream for dessert though we decided to save that for another day.
