We absolutely cannot say enough about Alex' talent, sense of professionalism, and easygoing manner. After viewing the sample videos on his blog, we immediately fell in love with his work and knew he was our guy. Throughout the first meeting, the wedding day, and the editing process following the wedding, he was responsive, non-intrusive (most of our guests didn't know he was there), and a pleasure to work with. He recently sent us our Highlights video and we absolutely LOVE it!!! The quality is amazing and he captured all the special moments perfectly. Although he claims we gave him a beautiful backdrop to work with (so humble he is!), it really came down to his incredible videography skills, editing, and artistic style. We have been hearing the best feedback from every single friend and family member (no exaggeration) who has viewed it, from "it is by far the most beautiful wedding video I have ever seen," to "this is amazing--I've already watched it 3 times!"
Like others, we briefly debated whether or not to have a videographer, but it is one of the best wedding investments we made. Photos are one thing, but to truly capture the moments, the words, and the scenes in action is priceless. And Alex is really the best in the business. We're seriously trying to come up with other occasions to hire him! Don't think twice--book him how. You won't regret it. -

My husband (then fiancee) found Alex on-line since we were having a destination wedding in San Fran on 10/10/10. After watching ALL of Alex's wedding highlight videos (probably multiple views) on his blog he came to the conclusion that Alex was a master of his craft and was determined to have him shoot our wedding video. My husband was absolutely correct -that is twice now ;-) Alex did an amazing job and we cry every time we watch the video (don't tell my husband I told you that). We highly recommend Alex and his brother, Joseph! Joseph does excellent photography (go to IQPhoto) and get wowed by his work. These two really know what they're doing!!! :-)

Okay, so this is the scoop... You are getting married, you want to remember it forever, right? Well, hiring a plain old photographer/videographer just won't do will it? You want the memories to be sweet, not dull, reminiscent of a good time, and one your family, kids, loved ones will look back and say, "wow"!! Because this is what you want for your wedding, you will have to... I repeat HAVE TO, hire Alex for your video.
I shit you not...
We got married December 6th 2010, we hired Alex and his brother (IQ Photography), and they are amazing!!! But lets talk about Alex since this is his review, shall we? Alex is an amazing artist, the things he does with the camera, and his ability to truly be there at that right, perfect, exact moment, is wonderfully amazing!! Alex is in the room, and you have no idea he is there!!
Seriously, if you are reading this, don't question your judgement, just hire him, the video is amazing, he gets it to you quick, and you could not have hired a nicer guy!! (Hire his brother Joseph to do your still photos as well... and Alex if you are reading this, thank you sooo much for everything!!)
So to sum it up, Hire Alex, you will not regret it, then hire his brother Joseph, also something you won't regret. Go to their websites, look at the cool videos, and be ready to have everyone you know say, "Uhhh we wish we hired them!!" (after they see the results...)

We waiting on our video still, so I'll update this when the actual product comes.
I booked Alex fairly late in the game, and I'm so glad I found him! He is very prompt, responsive, professional, nice, and fun to be around! I was pleasantly surprised by how great his packages were, and how much they cost!
Alex and his crew are a lot of fun to be around, and I enjoyed having them around during all the girly wedding prep! During the actual ceremony, they disappeared into the background and were SO ninja, I totally forgot they were there!
He was pretty quick in giving us the preview video, which was just a few minutes of video highlights from the big day, which our vows and some music as the audio. Needless to say, the little video made me (and a lot of other people) cry.
Alex is very good at what he does, and I can't wait to see our video! -

I recently was holding a series of focus groups out in San Francisco for the company I work for. Being located in Buffalo, NY I had no clue who to look for or who to hire. Thank GOD I found IQVideography!
Alex did an absolutely fantastic job for us. He must have been bored sitting there listening to these focus groups, but he acted professionally throughout the entire process. He showed up early everyday, took great video, even put a microphone in the middle of the table so the audio would be better (I didn't ask him to do that). He edited and sent the videos in a very timely matter.
Get this, he even showed up a half hour earlier than he needed to in order to save my company on parking charges. I couldn't believe it!
Alex is a class act, and because of him I can do my job and report on these focus groups to my bosses.
If I lived in San Francisco I would hire him for my wedding. Heck, I might even fly him out here to Buffalo ;-) -

We got married in 2009 and hired both Alex and his brother Joseph (from IQ Photography) with wonderful results.
Alex is prompt, professional, funny in a quiet sort of way (a contrast with his older brother) and a wonderful artist. While the highlight video was a bit different from what my husband and I expected, we loved it.
Only "feedback" is that we had requested that the save the date video that Alex had done for us be included in our wedding DVD but it wasn't (reason for minus 1 *). But we are still able to view it on his website :)
Also, the guests at our wedding loved Alex and his gear...it almost felt like a combination of James Bond and a Ninja at work.Listed in: Wedding

Alex's video skills are the best of the best! He will film you in various settings and will ask you to do things you might be a little nervous about (such as jumping up and down in a public place), but trust him completely. The final product is amazing! His video captured the love my wife and I share in a fun and entertaining way.
Do not consider using anyone else. Alex does an amazing job! -

It's been almost a year since our wedding and I realized I never wrote a review for our dear talented Alex Kon! We chose a package that included a "Save the Date" vid session, then a highlights and full version vid from the wedding day.
Now my husband and I aren't too much into PDA, I mean we LOVE each other truly, yes, but it's just not in our nature to "cupcake" like crazy in public. With Alex's videos, especially it being for our wedding and all, we def had to come out of our shell to show more love. It was TOTALLY awkward at times, but Alex made it look SO natural and easy in the final works. He was able to also catch our goofiness and
at the same time make it super special with the way he
put it all together. Alex is GREAT in editing the videos! He is truly talented and comes up with the coolest effects and ideas for his vids... I LOVE HIS WORK! He also tries to stay updated with equipment and whatnot. For the quality and all he has to offer, I would say the price is right! I would highly recommend IQ Videography!! -

Summary: Nice videos, but Alex cannot be trusted.
We visited Alex's home and saw his work, which we liked, so after deliberating we selected Alex and notified him via email. We then spoke on the phone, where Alex agreed to film our wedding and we agreed on a package and a price. Then the trouble began. First Alex told us that sales tax had increased to 9.5% but that if we paid him in cash upfront he could avoid the sales tax. That was a red flag! We told Alex we'd probably pay by check and mail it along with a paper copy of the agreement. Next, Alex pressured us to use his brother instead of the photographer we had already selected; we declined.
Five days after our email, Alex emailed us to say that he had accepted a commission from a different couple and would not be filming our wedding as agreed! The subsequent email exchange is attached below, in which he confirms that "a verbal agreement isn't an agreement" and that he's done this sort of thing before. In retrospect, it's fortunate that we will not be using Alex's services, as his unethical behavior has no place in such an important event.

You have to understand that verbal agreement is not an actual agreement. Not once i've met with couples that promised to book but never actually did that, for reasons i don't know... You seemed very serious to me and still i can't take the risk and hold dates before payment has been received.
As far as i remember, I didn't say that i prefer cash, i just said that if you pay cash, the sales tax will be on me.
Situations like these happened to me before and will happen many times more. To be honest with you, there is no way of dealing with them. If i would have told you that I was working with another couple and that they are serious to book, you could have felt that I'm pushing you and that it's not professional etc... and it did happen to me before.
I'm sorry that i didn't present you all the payment options, although the /book page has the information about retaining my services online.

Of course my review is a little late, but I wanted to say that Alex is by far the best in the business!
A true artist and professional who goes over and beyond to make sure the night is captured just perfectly!
Having 400 people at our wedding I thought some moments would be missed, but he even captured moments that I did not know came about the night of.
Would highly, highly recommend! -

Alex is wonderful!
My now husband and I had Alex and Joseph at our city hall wedding and Alex did our video. It was shot in 8MM which was really awesome. Alex does a really great job pairing the video to music and he worked with us to find the perfect song. It was a bit rushed to get our video done for a reception with our family in Seattle, but sure enough he delivered! He was able to get us the evening before and we were able to share it with our family who absolutelly loved it!
Alex also went above and beyond and got us all the raw footage he had shot- it great to have these memories of our special day and Alex captured it so perfectly! -

He is so artistic and every video was uniquely designed and produced in their own special way. His work varies from love stories to engagement to wedding day videos and more...
I am happy to confirm that we recently got our wedding video and he did an amazing job of capturing all the special moments of our wedding day! Our video was so touching and there were scenes in the movie that we don't remember posing for, but they came out so natural! In addition to his creativity of special effects and capturing special scenes, he does an amazing job of keeping the pace of the move flowing. Most importantly, Alex is very easy to work with and he made us feel comfortable the entire time.
One word of recommendation; don't try to cut corners on your wedding day and hire him for just the ceremony. We loved how he incorporated our preparation time in the beginning of the movie and the reception party, so at a minimum, I suggest you hire him from the wedding prep through the end of the reception. And if budget allows, throw in the love story and the wedding highlight! We are super excited to have this amazing movie to share with family and friends! We got married at the City Hall last month and now all we have left are the beautiful photos and video by the brothers Alex and Joseph (IQ Videography and IQ Photo). We had a great time with them. They were very easy to work with. My husband and I were comfortable posing with them. Our families have nothing but praises for them too. They directed us well. Friends and family continue to rave about our photos and videos because they truly captured the wedding beautifully. We had an intimate ceremony of 20 ppl, immediate family only and yet by showing our photos and videos to our friends back in the Philippines, it was like they were able to experience the moment with us too! A lot of friends have told me that they cried while watching the videos. Oh, and we are from Ohio so we only communicated with them thru email and we had NO issues whatsoever. We planned to meet at a certain time and there they were! :) They listened to all our requests and I just can't imagine anyone else capturing our wedding day that way.

We just received our wedding video and if you're looking for a videographer it would be worth your time to check out IQ Videography. Just like our photographer, Alex Kon came highly recommended so we decided to set up an appointment to check out his work and his work spoke for itself so we booked him immediately!
What is so amazing about Alex is that on the day of our wedding he was completely unobtrusive. I've been to many weddings where all you see is the photographer and videographer everywhere. But with Alex you hardly knew he was there yet looking at our video each and every magical moment was captured!! I know using the word "magical" makes it a bit "fairytale-ish" but when you see his work you'll know exactly what we mean!
Alex is extremely professional and very responsive which is important when you are planning such a significant milestone in your life. We were so excited after we received our DVD!!! We could hardly wait to sit down and relive our wedding day again! Now my husband and I can't stop watching it!! Without a doubt Alex captured those moments that allow you to relive your event! His work is QUALITY!
Another thing to consider; we booked both IQ Photo & IQ Videography so no need to worry about the photographer and videographer battling for those special moments! Alex and Joseph are brothers so they worked harmoniously together!! Just something to ponder in case you're looking for both your photographer and videographer!!
Alex- we'll let you know when we are ready to renew our vows :) Hope you'll be available! Or maybe we'll book you just because...

Alex and IQ Videography is great! We had Alex film our wedding in Napa and recently he sent us his completed project - our Wedding DVD. The DVD came in a really nice jewel case that had a really nice cover. Watching the DVD really made all the memories come flooding back. Alex was easy to work with and he and his equipment just blended into the background - he was out of the way as much as possible. The DVD montage really captures all the best parts of the whole day and we'll have this to keep forever. Alex is quick to respond and a very reasonable person to work with.

I had no plans at all to hire a videographer for my city hall wedding because i thought it was useless and a waste of my money but good thing I stumbled upon IQ videography. Alex changed my whole perception of city hall weddings. I instantly fell in love with his videos. I had asked him to do a super 8 mm film for my video and he did an amazing job you would never think that is was only one person filming the video.Now because of the beautiful video he did for me and my husband all of my friends want to get married in s.f city hall...... So if you think it's useless to hire a videographer for your city hall wedding because you think its a waste of your money and because you think the ceremony is only 10 mins i would reconsider and hire the IQ team it's a decision your going to be very happy about. Now I can't wait for my church wedding so I have an excuse to hire alex again =)

After a long search, we have selected Alex to do our Love Story. We would have chosen him for our wedding, but he was, unfortunately, unavailable.
One word about his work - WOW! Both my wife (now) and I, along with ALL the guests were impressed by the video. It took us 1.5 days, but it was all worth it.
People still call us and tell us that our Love Story video is one of the highlights of our wedding. It is unbelievably amazing! Some other comments from our guests were "the best love story I've ever seen", "I could not stop watching it", "it was super". Even our wedding photographer said that at times it was difficult for her to take pictures of the guests watching the video, because she wanted to watch it.
In summary, Alex is a very dedicated and talented videographer. I would definitely recommend him! -

WOW.WOW.WOW. We were blown away by the love story video and can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve for our wedding highlights and full length videos. I'm so glad that I happened to stumble across your name on one of the many wedding blogs. You have a talent that no words can describe and Nick and I think you should just move to Hollywood already. The lighting, the sound, the editing were perfect and we love that it was all in HD! The fact that you were able to capture our true personalities on film was remarkable. There were some guests that had not met me or Nick until that day and that video, we were told, made them see how Nick and I were perfect for each other.
Alex has such a soft and caring nature and I am glad for this. When we were selecting vendors for our wedding, our first goal was to select people based on our chemistry with them. Obviously in this economy price was a big factor also, but I was so happy that Alex was able work with us on that as well. Alex is truly delightful to work with and a master at what he does. We are so pleased by the work he has done for us so far, we can't wait to have another big event to hire him for. However, I don't think he'll be comfortable filming in a delivery room :)
You can be sure I will definitely give Alex another 5 star review once I get our actual full length video. I can't wait! -

I found Alex Kon of IQ Videography through his brother's IQ Photography, which we had booked first. Alex's films are amazing - everyone who sees them says they're like a MOVIE. He makes you the star of your own film which captures an extremely poignant moment in your life. I wish that we had the time to do 8mm because I love the old school feel, but we'd wanted our ceremony film edited in time to play at our reception the next day and couldn't wait for film processing time. It was no great loss at all to commit to HD, as Alex's HD work is so polished that it really represents the true gleam of your sparkling day. Maybe someday your kids won't be able to imagine your youth without a vintage haze (if they can even imagine what THAT looks like), but when you show the film to them, they'll realize that you were just as real as they are today. Someday you'll be 70, 80, (140??), old and crinkly, and you'll boot up your film and be brought right back to that day, the way you felt squeezing your beloved's hands, each kiss and hug, run and jump, the tears and the funny oddball moments. The way the sky looked that day, the way people you love supported you and laughed with you, the way the crisp San Francisco air bit at you but it didn't matter because you just got married and you were just so overwhelmed with joy. Alex will encapsulate that for you, so that you can find it again when you need to.

I hired IQ Videography to film our wedding. Alex did a fantastic job of personalizing the video to our personalities and balancing out the shots so it wasn't entirely too long (which nobody, not even the bride would sit through) but still captured the moments we wanted to remember. We were able to select the music for the background which made it even more personal.
Professional and obviously a master at the art of videography, I would recommend IQ to any bride or anybody who wanted to capture a special occasion on film. -

We've hired Alex to do our videos, and let me tell you guys that he is excellent! I didn't know how much I loved my wife until Alex took a shot of me gazing longingly at my wife, wondering when the party was going to end so I could take her home and tell her that her beautiful, expensive wedding dress looks better on my bedroom floor. I know this is not supposed to be a review of other reviews on this page, but I couldn't help but notice "Benjamin T's" so-called review of IQ Videography. I love how he says: "Nice videos, but Alex cannot be trusted." Hey Ben, how do you know he can't be trusted when you haven't actually hired him to do your videos? Your review is not even a review, it's just a boring story about the sequence of events leading up to you not deciding to hire Alex. Do me a favor, why don't you leave the review page to people who have actually "paid" for the services being reviewed? And what in the world makes you think that not putting down at least a down payment for something guarantees you service? It's called running a business, think about it........

To be quite honest, I almost opted not to hire a videographer since I had always thought wedding videos were boring, unimpressive and something you just tucked away in storage after your wedding day. This all changed when I came across IQ Videography. I was blown away after seeing samples of Alex's work and shared them with my fiance who was just was impressed. We were thrilled when we learned was available and haven't been disappointed since.
The following sums up why I highly recommend IQ Videography:
- Very Responsive and Good Customer Service. Anytime I contacted Alex, he always responded within a 24hrs or less (most often within a few hours). He listens and makes a genuine effort to accommodate what's important to you and how you want to capture on your wedding day.
- Creative Talent. I did my due diligence in researching for videographers and he's one of the best in the Bay Area. His cinematic style, creative vision, video effects, transitions, timing, editing and overall talent are qualities I absolutely appreciate.
- Professional. Alex arrived early, was prepared, transitioned from one destination to another without any interruption in the schedule (we had multiple destinations throughout the day), and was entirely focused on shooting footage that captured the essence of our day.
- Pricing. Considering we had two videographers covering an exceptionally long day, level of professionalism and customer service, and the stunning, cinematic wedding movie we received, I felt we got a great deal. There are various packages to choose from (depends on length of coverage, number of videographers, content included etc.) which can work with most budgets.
I am so glad I hired IQ Videography to capture my wedding day. My husband and I are so happy with our wedding movie and it's definitely something we'll enjoy watching over and over again with our friends and family for years to come. -

Just a few weeks before our wedding reception, we decided to "tell" the story of how met to all of our guests. We found Alex after a quick Google Search, so we really didn't know what to expect. I sent him an email, and he responded immediately. To give us an idea of his work, he sent us real videos of his past customers. We immediately fell in love with his work. We wanted the video to be a reflection of our own story, but we really didn't know where to begin. Alex did a great job of not only filming us, but also directing us and asking us the right questions. The video flowed naturally. We filmed outdoors, so he also made an effort to pause when there was disruptive background noise and re-film, and even let me know when my hair was being blown out of place :) Besides the love story, we also incorporated our civil ceremony -- which Alex did seamlessly. Even the background music he added is perfectly blended into the video. You'll be very happy with the final, edited version. He miraculously worked within our very short time window and had the finished video (in three different formats!) for us in time for the wedding reception. We received so many compliments, and also have a special keepsake that we will watch over and over, and hopefully share with our children one day. Thank you, Alex!

We were married in September, and Alex blew us away with his "highlights video" he sent to us. We have received numerous compliments from our friends. The one word they all say is WOW! The color, the editing, the cinema quality, the background music - we felt as though we were stars in a movie. That's essentially how talented Alex is with his fine editing. We never realized how beautiful videography can be. Alex is exceptionally professional and captured so many beautiful moments. He and his assistant were unobtrusive, and most of the time we didn't even know they were there. Alex delivered superb quality of service. We were so excited to receive our amazing highlights video. If we could give 10 stars, we would in a heartbeat. My husband and I just got married on Saturday and Alex and Alex were our videographers. We don't know what more we could ask for from such an important vendor. Videography was super important to us, and Alex delivered, above and beyond our expectations. Not only did he call the day of and ask if he could come earlier, I think he stayed a little after our time with him was up! Him and his team are unobtrusive, professional, fun, and comfortable to work with. His experience shooting weddings ensured that we would get all our shots and memories of our special day. Don't hesitate to book Alex and his team... you will have absolutely no regrets. Oh, and to combat the wedding withdrawal you're sure to experience following the wedding, Alex's turnaround is FAST! We got our highlights video within one week!
