I just got certified in BLS for Healthcare Providers (American Heart Association) tonight through the Alexia Group.  I highly recommend this class.  The class itself is $65, and if you need to purchase a book/manual then it's an extra $15, for a total of $80.  There were 7 students in the class and 2 instructors (Zac and Justin).

Both instructors were very open to questions and very knowledgeable.  They gave us good feedback during the practice portion so that we knew what we had to do for the skills testing.  The instructors are very efficient -- the class was scheduled for 6pm-9:30pm, but we got out by 9:15ish.

I thought there was a little bit of useful information that was missing, but that's not really the instructors' fault -- more of an omission from the AHA course training DVD, which is what the class was based off of.  Things such as (1) what to do if you can't find a mouth barrier anywhere & need to perform CPR, (2) if a woman needs CPR, you need to remove her bra for the AED to work & preferably for the CPR portion as well.

I just got my CPR certification this morning through the BLS for Health Providers class.  It was definitely the most fun and effective CPR class I have taken.  Zac Weiner was a great instructor who made sure that we really solidified the skills in an efficient manner so that we got out in only 3 hours!  The class size was very small and intimate with four students, which ensured that we each got the personal attention we needed to make sure we mastered the skills.  Great facility, great instructor, and great experience!

you sit in a room and watch a video.  bls class was $70 though i got $6 off from yelp promo code. The promo code wasn't working when i input it on site. I made a note of it in the comment section of the checkout page. I received a prompt email informing me that they'd credit my account the difference. Very cool. That and that alone earned them the second star.   They didn't have a child size dummy.  That seems to me completely unacceptable. If the entire mission of your business is to teach cpr HOW do you NOT have a child size dummy? Tha'ts like running a barber shop but not having any shears. what the heck?!  Instructor (mark b.) was very young and very sweet, and informative for the bits he interjected. Id recommend Fast Response....I took their class two years ago and it was entertaining and informative, almost fun...not sure why I went with Alexia this time...I'll be renewing with Fast Response in two years...oh yes and there class is $10 less

just got my CPR certification here today. great facility, short bike ride from BART. the instructors even entertained my strange questions, and gave me logical, intelligent answers. hooray for that! any group of teachers that can make a made-for-the-masses CPR class into an interesting, engaging course has got my 5-star vote.
