Review Highlights
Iphone went from smashed screen to good-as-new in 20 minutes. $80 all in. DO NOT go to Genius bar and spend $199. This is a home based business, so don't expect a strip mall store front. Joe handles everything out of a garage-office. And he is exactly the kind of guy you'd hope to find via Yelp. Independent businessman, knowledgeable, personable, fast, friendly.
Top notch experience~
Here's a tip, customer service 101... The customer is always right. I deal with it everyday, you too can deal with it. Also, it might not be the smartest thing to be blaming everything on the customer..
I'm keeping this post up and I hope you can respect that and become friendlier and more respectful to your future customers.

Called to ask about an iphone repair while at work. I accidentally asked how much it would cost to fix my ipod instead of iphone and the guy starts raising his voice, getting all frustrated and starts acting like an ass.
These reviews all must be fake, cuz the service i got in 5 minutes was probably the worst I've had all year.
I hung up on the guy... and decided to go else where. Just giving people a heads up. 5 stars?? You be the judge
In addition to Yelping restaurants, I have also written reviews for my eye doctor, dentist, and physician. Now it's time to give due credit to my iPod doctor.
About 2-3 months ago my iPod began only playing out of one side of my speakers...a quick Google search provided the diagnosis; a shot audio jack. Being a music lover, this was simply intolerable, and it basically rendered my brand new $300+ pair of Bose noise canceling headphones useless (well...not entirely...the noise canceling feature could still help to drown out my noisy officemate...which you will probably agree is still a valuable, and venerable service). I refused to purchase a new iPod knowing that I'll eventually upgrade to the new iPhone 3GS, and found myself relying on NPR and old fashioned audio CD's to help make my morning/evening commute tolerable. However, with a 13+ hour flight to Hong Kong in my immediate future, the time finally came to get the ole 'pod repaired.
Enter Joe and his iRepair Clinic. Situated in a residential neighborhood near the intersection of Cashio and Reeves, the clinic wasn't exactly easy for me to find (completely my own fault), but once located the experience was awesome. My audio jack was replaced literally within five minutes, and probably half of those minutes were filled with Joe showing off some of the neat things he can to do upgrade your standard, off-the-shelf iPod. After all was said and done, the bill came out to $50. Considering the hardware probably costs less than 25 cents, this equates to a labor rate that would make even the best neurosurgeon jealous, however, it's absolutely fair. It's not the hardware or labor you are paying for, as much as it is the professionalism, knowledge, and skill that Joe possesses. On top of that, you can easily get a sense of the pride he has in his work.
Maybe it's true that a rocket scientist ought to be able to replace an audio jack himself, but I know I'd find a way to screw something else up in the process. And yes, any one of my nerdy computer science/electrical engineering classmates from my undergraduate days could probably have helped me out in this situation, but those days and those guys are separated from my 'here and now' by thousands of miles and half a decade.
So yes, Joe and his clinic are absolutely worth the hype and the 5-stars. Should the need arrive, I will return without hesitation.
Cracked my 3gs front screen and googled around for a reputable repair place and found Joe. On top of that, Apple recommends him!
Great customer service, quick turn around, would definitely send all my iPhone owning friends to him!
I took my broken iPod video to him and after his diagnosis, he suggested I invest the money instead in a new iPod as it would be more worth my while! Seriously, a business man who's willing to part with business for the greater good? That's a superhero in my book.
I dropped my iPhone on the kitchen tile last night and literally cried. This morning I looked on CL and found Joe, the iPod Repair Clinic. I was in and out of there in 45 minutes, and it only took 45 bc I had to wait for someone who was in front of me. My phone only took about 15-20 minutes.
Joe is very nice, friendly, professional. He works out of the back of his house and knows a lot. I would recommend him to anyone and go back again. He only charged me $95 for the repair vs. the $150+ you will pay at the Genius Bar.
Yesterday my iPhone committed suicide straight from my ungraceful palm with a face-down kiss to my tiled kitchen floor. I tried to save him, but he was a shattered mess when I got him to look me in the eye again.
My cyber-worthy husband found a quick remedy and it was less than a mile from my house. I raced my stricken iPhone straight over to Joe's place and he assured me that my friend (and sick addiction) would be fixed like new within 20 minutes
Less than a half hour later, a quick scrawl of $95 upon a check and he was all mine again...clear, clean and ready for use, except for the clear "bandage" Joe told me he must wear for 24 hours while the apoxy set. The glass looks as new as the day I got it.
Now, I suppose I should buy one of the clunky covers since I'm a butter-fingered broad.
Yeah. What they said.
Why are dudes like this so few and far between?
Joe is extremely friendly and knows his stuff. he's got a great business going for him. I am so jealous that I don't have the skills to fix an iphone in 15 minutes. Don't be scared by the fact that it is done out of the home office, he is legit & professional. Don't live with a cracked screen, just go to Joe.
To this day I do not know how my iPod's screen broke, but nontheless I needed to get it fixed quick because I am leaving the country next week. So, I go to the Apple store, they say it's not under warranty, and even if it was, the broken screen was not covered and that I would have to buy a new refurbished one for $200 or for an extra $50, I would get a new one. So, after thanking them for being useless, they gave me Joe's card.
I emailed him telling him of my dilemma, he said come on over, it would be $60 and only take 10 minutes. I went a few days later. Joe is so personable and very easy to get along with. He fixed the screen, had me test it by turning it on and off a few times to make sure everything worked properly.
Not only was my iPod fixed, but I will take it down there again if my hard drive takes a dive or my battery runs out as well.
So all, I hope you take heed to this review, Joe's work is definitely worth it. He's made a customer out of me, and I hope it will do the same for you too.
My 4th gen 20g ipod wouldn't hold a charge - I got the battery/exclaimation point symbol after charging the thing for 12 hrs. We go way back, my 4th gen ipod and I, through good times and bad. I had to save it's life.
I found Joe on craigslist, dropped by, and was in and out of his backyard office in 10 minutes flat. Replaced the battery, fixed the audio jack, and gave it a thorough check up, for $40. Nice guy too! Couldn't be happier. Takes credit cards.
So glad I read reviews before getting my bf's ipod fixed - otherwise I would've been apprehensive entering someone's backyard hehe.
Joe is a super nice guy who gets the job done quickly and at a great deal! No appointment was necessary and I got to sit down right next to him while he tinkered w/the little thing. After replacing the screen w/a new one, he made sure that the ipod worked in all aspects.
Highly recommended!
Like a fool I dropped my ipod on the floor and cracked the screen badly.
We called and walked into Joe's office 45 minutes later.
Joe swapped out the broken screen while talking to us; took about 10 minutes and the ipod is better than it was when it was new. (better screen.)
Wish all services in my life could be as wonderful as this one is . I may break my ipod again just to get service this great!
So, break your ipod today, go see Joe tomorrow!
For 3 months I was using my iPod with a cracked screen. I'm just a busy girl who can't seem to make time to carefully package up my iPod, go to the post office to mail it, then wait a couple of days to maybe get my iPod in the mail. Can I part with my tunes for that long? Well, maybe there's a place in LA where I can go drop off my iPod and then get it the same day. Wow, that's an idea, right? I happen to Google a search for "iPod Repair in Los Angeles" and iPodRepairClinic was the first on the search results. I called. Joe worked with my schedule. I said I would get there first thing at 8AM. Then I was thinking.... hm, he works at the back of his house and I have to meet him there? I'm just a girl, after all, who can kick semi-butt, but do I want to put myself in a potential dangerous situation? Call me extra-cautious, but that's how my parents raised me. :-)
I went with my gut instincts and met up with Joe. Yes, it was an office in his backyard, but this guy is legit. This may be his "side" job, but he's a hard working and trustworthy guy. I was out of there in 10 minutes after I watched him skillfully replace my broken screen. All this for only $70!!!
Joe also takes mailed-in orders from around the world. He's damn good at fixing most generation iPods (and I heard maybe some other gadgets?) and would not be surprised to hear him be an Apple Authorized Repair Clinic in the near future.
I found Joe on google actually. I typed iPod fix Los Angelese. His service was the first one on the list. This was a year ago. My 80gig was dead.
It was the hard drive apparently.
It took 15 minutes to fix. $20 for the service and whatever the cost for the hard drive was. I keep thinking to go back and fix my 20 gig 4th gen iPod, but I don't have time.
Screw Genius Bar. I went to Genius Bar, they said I had to pay. I said fine. It would take them at least 2 weeks and around $150 just for the service. The worst part was, Genius bar didn't really wanna send it out. I decided to look elsewhere. And I found iPod Repair Clinic.
quick and reliable ipod repair. sent it in on monday, joe called on wed to double check what needed to be repaired. replaced the logic board my screen (no extra charge) with one that had less scratches. $150 overall and had it back on my doorstep by sat morning.
