I'm not a big fan of cupcakes, but one has to appreciate the creative flavors that this joint comes up with. Yet they're not overly sugary or artificial tasting. They are a bit pricey, but it's a treat, right?
If I had my cupcake druthers, I'd choose Cakes Plus. But this is certainly worth a go, particulary if you are, in fact, a cupcake fan.
*2.5
I was excited to try this place once I heard about it. I went to the website first and was particularly excited about the choices they had. So when the BF and I finally went, we ended up getting a half-dozen to share (and it was PRICEY!) So first bite, something chocolate-y. Ok not horrible, not great. Second bite oh god it's so sugary, I'm starting to get a migraine. And the icing is horribly crystallized. By the third, I couldn't handle it anymore and I put away my half-eaten cupcake a little sad.
For me, the point of doing an upscale cupcake is to rectify the things wrong with store-bought ones. It seems those things are just magnified here. They're overly sweet, the icing crystallized and the cake base so-so (though in their case it was the best part). The flavors are better, yes, but it was still all too much! I know some of you may say "That's the fucking point!" but no--I think we all deserve better than just sugar overkill!
All in all, a big meh for me. Not going back since Charm City Cupcakes does a much better job for cheaper.

Since moving to Baltimore and being an avid baker myself, I have heard a lot about this place. I finally made it there and was a bit disappointed. The shop itself is very cute and I will give them credit for having a lot of cupcake flavors to choose from. The cookies and cream cupcake was by far my favorite and the strawberry one seemed a bit 'wet' to me. I haven't been back and I didn't find that there was anything special about this place for the price that you are going to pay per cupcake.
This is cupcake shangri-la! The store is as sweet and yummy as thier cupcakes. My favorite is the vanilla vanilla but I have had the key lime and have been more than satisfied. This place is a special treat, kinda like the "Geno's" of cupcakes!

Delicious! I was afraid the frosting was going to be that horrible crisco-flavored autrocity some bakeries attempt to pass off as frosting, but theirs is fluffy, soft, and sweet--everything frosting should be. The cake was moist and flavorful. I highly recommend this place. They have a cupcake menu that changes each day and have a "happy hour" special (all cupcakes $1) from 5-6:30 Mon-Fri.

One three letter word describes it all: Yum.
These cupcakes will remind you what a cupcake should be - soft, flavorful, rich and creamy. Not the boring stuff you find at the shelves of most bakerys.
Their primary business appears to be catering (need a wedding cake? or a cupcake tree?), but that does not stop them from pouring much love into each and every cupcake they sell out the front door.
amazing cupcakes with a creative cupcake menu! each is beautifully put together. the cake is moist and full of flavor, its icing the perfect combination of sweet and creamy! I've tried the key lime, cookies and cream, and coconut ones in addition to the usual vanilla and chocolate and i can't pick a favorite! be forewarned that they're incredibly filling because you will want to bring home one of each.
