With a city as big as Fort Lauderdale, there should definitely be a better, bigger aquatic center.  The place is well maintained, as best I can tell, but it's been under "construction" for years now.  I never see anyone working on the place, just equipment and plastic strewn all over the front.  The first time I came to the pool, I thought it was closed because of the curb appeal.  And the hours are not very welcoming to those of us who work for a living.

Ok ok, as a former H.S. and college swimmer, I am a little biased.  There is a swimming museum.  Yeah, don't know much about it.  But I've competed in this complex, and it's pretty kick ass.  There are two deep water olympic size pools, it's right on the Intracoastal, across the street from the beach, etc.  If you are in town and are a fitness swimmer, you should head over and get some laps in here.
