"IMBA creates, enhances, and preserves riding opportunities worldwide."
IMBA lobbies for fair access to public space in Washington and at state levels. They assist over 500 local clubs with organization. They coordinate trail work seminars and volunteers year around.
I would have given IMBA my five star rubber stamp, but I'm for wilderness over access. IMBA opposes wilderness designation for any bike able public lands in the US. Under the current interpretation of the wilderness act, bicycles are prohibited. Like on the trails in Marin(not wilderness, but prohibited)- you know, nobody rides on Tam because it is illegal.
I joined IMBA because I'm even more of a rabid MTB dog than I am a zealot for wilderness.
