Went today and it's now close for good
I have been coming for years and am really sadden to see the note on the door. The note addressed customers and employees about their closureHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 11, 2018
By far the worst experience I have ever had at any ihop. The host didn't bother greeting us and grabbed some menu and kept speaking in Spanish rather than English to another staff. The person who was seating us was going to seat us at a different table but the other waitress told him in Spanish to seat us at table 1. Everything was wrong with this table. It was sticky, hot in this area and on top of that, the booth table behind us we're super rowdy. They were constantly banging on the chairs(they're practically connected) and just constantly standing up and leaning on our chairs to their table. It was so disrespectful! The staff saw how uncomfortable we were but didn't bother to say anything.
It took over 15 minutes before we got a hold of a waiter to order. Took a while long after that for the water to come and how disgusted I was with the water! At least have it filtered rather than hand us a glass of water that taste straight from the sink. It had a terrible taste!
Food has yet to come. I've been waiting for at least 20 minutes now and honestly, what we ordered is super easy to make.... Very disappointed in IHOP overall...Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jan 18, 2017
First off, there is a huge demand for this place. Boy was it busy when I walked in. Of course...we decided to go to IHOP on a Saturday morning of a 3 day weekend meant about fifteen customers packed in the alcove waiting to get in.
This is great for business, and I'm glad the establishment is doing well. Just remember to tell the lady your name so you are on the list, and the frontline will call you and walk you to your table. Luckily, if you decide to brave it and wait in the bristling cold, there is an announcement speaker outside so you won't missed being called. It just also means that if you arrive between 9 am and 11 am, then expect a wait. I waited about half an hour, which meant my stomach was dreaming of another stomach to eat the stomach that I already had.
Now that I started off with the downside...let's go to the upside. I was able to get a booth for my family, and our waitress was really nice and friendly. I loved the belgian waffle since it was so sugary good. If you need comfort food, then here's the place. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. I didn't feel rushed or found the food that subpar. It's probably not the place to go if you want diet or organic food or if you want quiet reading and/or work on the laptop with wifi...but it has a great brunch feel.
It's more of the family feel of denny's + applebee's (minus the evening meals), so it doesn't have any hipstery cocktails like a diner might serve. I could tell that most people around us got pancakes and other breakfast dishes. My favorite however was my son's smiley face kid meal which was super adorable. Will I go back? Probably, but not if I'm super hungry...but if I have a bunch of friends are craving pancakes...why not?Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 28, 2017
Dont ever go on a weekend because this place is always packed. I really wish they would extend the place.
The t-bone steak ($18ish) is juicy, tender, & the portion is generous although my brother claims it used to be bigger. It comes with 3 pancakes which would've been perfect if they weren't so salty. It also comes with eggs.
The New York Cheesecake Pancake is really good (but too sweet)! The crepes are really good too (but too sweet).
The French Vanilla Hot Chocolate was good but it was too sweet. The serving is so huge though & it's cheaper than Denny's too.
The peachy pancakes were good but also a bit too sweet.
The Stuffed French Toast was good but too sweet.
The omelet was good.
The hash brown was ok.
The turkey bacon was way too salty.
The service is usually great although the last time we went, the server took awhile to take our order cuz they're always so busy.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jimmy B.Brooklyn, NY1341911758Oct 9, 2017
I been coming to this I HOP for years never seems to amaze me, still has its issues, our waitress look grouchy, The special Gingerbread Hot Choclate, I order was watery,But at least the seating time was less then 5 minutes, Hostess was very nice and courteous.
I order the Steak Omellete, nothing special..very dried like a October Leaf,.the steak little pieces it looks like it was left all night, but it stll looks like a Omellete.
My friend order the Basic Breakfast Sampler the bacon strips tasted very old with a side order of pancakes, again nothing much other that we where hungry.
Nothing that I expected from an I HOP, no matter how busy they are, the food has to be up to par.
This place looks more About making a profit then serving quality food.
Im very disappointed!!
This place its different from other I HOPS that I been to, still has its issues long lines and sub standard service they can do way better.
If you oder, stick to the pancakes.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Benito M.Sunset Park, Brooklyn, NY12089345Apr 28, 2018
Love this IHOP then the ones in Brooklyn. The two I've been to in Brooklyn is on Broadway which was dirty and have small critters and downtown Brooklyn which was about the same. Hospitality sucks. No one checks on you. And in both places food was less than average.
I'm happy to say this particular IHOP is by the best one I've been to. Food is good. Clean surroundings and someone always checking on you.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - David E.London, United Kingdom215891652Mar 26, 2017
I was keen to test a IHOP in Queens having recently started investing in the parent company (#DIN).
Based on the Yelp reviews I did not have high hopes. It was not as bad as I was reading, but not as good as I hoped.
The service I experienced (Jorge was the waiter) was very good. Overall the food was average: good pancakes and weak on everything else. The coffee was nothing to get excited about, but it does the job.
Whatever your experience at this location, the customers keep coming here for breakfast and it was packed. They were turning over tables in 2 minutes for new customers!
It's not cheap, it's not exciting, but it is efficient, convenient and pancakes are good. I don't know if I would invest further in their parent company, but I do know I need to go to the gym now...Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Stephen D.New York, NY808732036Jul 21, 2017
Love me some "split decision" at I Hop. Can never go wrong with it. Waitress provided good service and there were no issues with wait time. We were seated immediately and the food came within 15 minutes.
Not bad for a place that's always packed!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 3, 2012
I have been here many times on the weekend and holidays with my kids.
The wait time is LONG and the service is unpleasant!
By the time we get seated and served I'm usually not hungry anymore but the kids love coming here.
The last visit was on a weekday and I actually enjoyed the food.
Go on the weekdays!
This location has a very large parking lot.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
