A great place to get fabrics and trim.  The selection is substantial.  They will cut any number of samples for you to take home.  Find one of the two scissor wielding employees wearing aprons. I recommend looking at fabrics under all lighting possibilities before you make a purchase.  

Prices are comparable to other fabric stores but right now, they are having a huge sale. Bolts of fabrics and trim are marked down with significant savings.

The staff is friendly and helpful although most of the time they seem a little understaffed.  As Robin C. mentioned, the owner can be a sourpuss.  Or is he simply above being courteous?  Just ignore him.

Huge selection of upholstery and home dec fabrics, all super reasonably priced.  They also have an extensive sale area where you can get even better deals.  The thing that endears me to them most is the size of their samples.  You can practically make a pillow out of them!  I'm exaggerating of course, but it is so helpful to have a sizeable piece when you're trying to coordinate with other elements.

Most of their sales staff is just great.  They're typicaly very friendly and helpful.  The guy who seems to be the mgr...not so much.  Maybe he thinks I'm some kind of freak, always in there getting samples but not a frequent actual buyer (I'm a designer and most of my clients implement my design plans themselves so they're the ones who come in and buy)...but since all of the other people in the store are still friendly to me it seems to suggest that the mgr's just a bit of a sourpuss.
