Highly recommended! Steve came very highly recommended from a friend of mine who got his engagement ring at Intagems. I did quite a bit of research, both online and in stores, and originally found something I was happy with at Blue Nile. But Steve was able to find something even better. The diamond I ended up purchasing from Steve (GIA certified) had specs which exceeded the ones from Blue Nile. The result was a ring that has incredible sparkle.
Steve was also able to work with me remotely (I live in SF.). At every step of the way, he emailed me pictures of what he was doing. He sent me a hi-res image of the diamond, along with the GIA cert. For the setting, I described what I was looking for and he found a variety settings that fit my description and emailed images of the settings (along with the diamond inside) as well. Finally, when everything was finished, he sent me an image of the mounted ring, just to make sure everything was as I had expected. Needless to say, my fiance is very, very happy with the ring.
If you're looking for engagement ring, do yourself a favor and visit Steve.
My friend's fiance wanted me to go with him to pick out a ring for my friend so we headed over to Inta Gems because not only did they have free parking validation, but an outstanding 5 stars on Yelp so we decided to go here first.
When we got there, they were very attentive, polite, flexible and really take customer service seriously. I explained to them that my friend is a picky girl and her fiance who was with me really wanted to work with something within his budget. The best thing about this place was the fact that they really wanted to know about my friend and her personality so they can see what cut she might like and what might look good on her. I love it when people are interested in who you are first rather than trying to sell your products quickly and kick you out to help the next set of customers. Eventually, we found what we were looking for and my friend purchased the ring! I'm really excited and looking forward to my friend's expression once she gets engaged!
Advice: Don't be swayed by the other jewelers in the fashion district. Go to Inta Gems! They seriously know what they are doing!

Long Version: I am new to jewelry, and had been to many merchants in the area, and decided to buy here. The service here was very attentive, intelligent and very polite. They answered all my questions and were very helpful in helping me narrow down what I was looking for. The service was quick and I walked away feeling good about my purchase, which is something rare in my experience. They have certified gemologists behind the counter, which helps make you feel even more confident in what you're buying. If you're in the market, you owe it to yourself to go here and check'em out.
What's the toughest part about getting engaged and married besides making that huge commitment? Well it's finding that perfect ring and finding one that is in your budget. You want a ring that when girls see it they say, "Ahhhh that's so beautiful, you are a a lucky girl" and when guys see it they say "Damn that is some bling and she is off limits". Well when I was looking for engagement rings I had no idea where to start or what I was looking for. The only things I knew was 1) princess cut, 2) my budget, and 3) make the future fiance happy.
Well look no further people, INTA GEMS is the best place to buy an engagement ring, or any fine piece of jewelery for you or your loved one. The have the highest quality of jewelry for the best price around. A friend of mine had bought his engagement ring there and he told me I had to go there and I will definitely get the best ring for the best price. Steve helped me with all my needs. He was great, so accommodating and knowledgeable. I told him what little I knew, he asked me what my budget was, what my fiance to be was like, and how big her hand was. He then proceeded to spend the next 1 1/2 hours educating me on diamonds, settings, and suggestions. I felt like I was an expert when this was all said and done. With Steve's suggestion we picked out the perfect engagement ring.
When it was time to finally make the purchase, I contacted Steve and I couldn't believe how accommodating and helpful he was. I was living in Seattle at that time and he made arrangements for me to obtain the engagement ring, propose on my selected date, all without having to travel back to LA.
When I proposed my fiance cried, not because she was happy to be married to me but because the ring was so beautiful and it was the "perfect" ring that she wanted. I really have to thank Steve and INTA GEMS for that. As it turns out, my fiance told me the wrong ring size and we had to get it sized. No problem at all, I called Steve and again he was so accommodating and gave me several options. I doubt any other jeweler would provide these options.
To this day we receive so many compliments about the ring on it's beauty and style. I really can't take credit and I just tell him it was Steve and INTA GEMS. We even were in another jewelery store and the diamond expert looked at the ring and exclaimed what a great quality diamond we had and how stunning it was.
I highly recommend everyone to go to INTA GEMS, you will get 1) the highest quality, 2) professional, friendly, and accommodating service, 3) guarantee on merchandise, and 4) the best price. Without the risk of sounding cheezy, they really work with you, your budget, and want to make you happy. For all my future jewelery needs I will only go to INTA GEMS and Steve.

I am sure he can also design fabulous tiaras for any divas out there!
There was a beautiful big square cut emerald in a gold setting that just made me drool. The stone had depth and fire and the delicious heaviness to it so you can feel the stone nestled on your finger with every gesture.
The deep blue sapphire and the star sapphire were amazing. The bright star on the cabochon like sapphire was mesmerizing as it moved with the light.
The multi-faceted yellow diamond was hypnotizing with delicate shimmery light in its depth and fit in perfectly with its diamond encircled setting and band.
The drop sapphire necklace with diamonds was gorgeous and would make any girl feel like a million dollars! You just need a wonderful dress, even with a long train to match!
There were so many hot drop and chandelier like earrings with all types of gems. You could wear these on an award show or with jeans.
I could see all these jewelry on movie stars like Kate Winslet, Angelina Jolie, Kirsten Steward (Twilight), or Scarlett Johansson. Wearing them makes me feel a bit more glamorous.
This is a hidden 'jewel' of a find and a wonderful place for all types of jewelry, from red carpet, parties, and ambassadorial balls to small mementos. I am so glad I know where to go for fine jewelry. I wish I could buy anything I want from there. Ah well, some day.......
I first came here a few months back on the recommendation of a couple of friends who recently got married. They told me, "go talk to Peter, he'll take great care of you." The whole time I had a pretty specific idea of what kind of engagement ring I was looking for, and knew exactly how much I wanted to spend. After visiting a few other spots down in the jewelry district and getting the same "well, you really need to up your cost about $1000 to get what you really want" from everybody, I headed over to inta gems with my spirits on the verge of being crushed...I gotta say, I was so happy with how well they took care of me. The customer service there is the best I've seen almost anywhere and Peter got me exactly what I wanted for the price I was looking for....plus, I got free lychee candies out of the deal. we'll call that "added value".
Long story short, she said yes and we've been back to get our wedding bands, which they bent over backwards to make fit within our budget again. I can't say enough good things about this place. Great quality work, totally reasonable prices and excellent customer service. If you're in the market for jewelry for someone special, do yourself a favor and go visit them. You won't be disappointed.
My sister and her fiance had gone to downtown to purchase an engagement ring and ended up at one of the small venders in the jewelry district. Unfortunately, the place they purchased the ring was not a professional, reliable, or honest dealer. They actually sold my sister's fiance a diamond claiming it was H color and SI2 clarity. Even worse was that they purchased a stone that was uncertified. They were unaware of diamond certification. They ended up taking it to EGL laboratories only to discover that the stone was not what the man claimed.
In the end, they ended up looking around Downtown LA for other dealers that were honest and professional. We ended up getting her ring at INTA Gems & Diamond. The service was great and the ring had superb craftsmanship. My sister's fiance paid the same price for her old ring, but ended up leaving with a 1.25 carat, D color, and SI clarity diamond that has GIA certification. What was even better, was they told us the stone had top of the line cut, polish and symmetry grades, making it an ideal cut diamond. INTA Gems really provides more bang for your buck. In fact, looking at other stores at the mall, we can definitely see the difference in terms of quality. Diamonds at INTA have more brilliant sparkle than diamonds at stores like Robbins Brothers.
And my sister loved her new ring so much, she ended up coming back to the store to get her band. She was able to have a high quality custom-design band made to hug her engagement ring. They also chose a platinum men's band there. Anyway, I highly recommend going to INTA Gems for all your jewelry needs. Even going down there to just browse is a great experience. Each friendly staff member really educates you on diamonds and colored stones without being pushy.
Granted, I don't know much about jewels or jewelry. I did some online research on gems and metals, but really, you trust the experts or you don't.
I am, however, very picky, and based on those character qualifications can say that Inta was very responsive, flexible, and takes customer satisfaction very seriously. My fiance worked with them to design a custom ring, and I love the results. We came back to get his wedding band there, and the price we were given was comparable with that of online retailers -- but of course with the much greater security of dealing with an established and reputable brick-and-mortar shop. In fact, the proprietor had encouraged us to go with the white gold version of the ring we eventually got in platinum; white gold costs much less, so it was the opposite of being upsold! Impressive. Worth going, and worth going back.
So I've actually been wanting to go back to INTA Gems for awhile now, but since I live in San Diego, I can never find the time! I finally got the chance to go yesterday and once again, PERFECT customer service!
I actually had to have them polish one of the prongs because it was getting hooked on my clothes a lot. I brought it in and it was done in 20 min! AND they also gave me free cleaning solution for my ring. AND they validated my parking! lots of free things = happy reggi!

I was in the market for a purple sapphire and Peter was a great help and found the perfect stone for my needs. I looked around at many different places but couldn't find what I needed. With Peter I picked out a beautiful sapphire and a lovely setting and was extremely happy with the engagement ring. They made me a great deal!! My fiancee loved her ring and all her friends are envious of the pretty purple rock. Thanks a million Peter!!! I went to INTA Gems last weekend with my girlfriend and some friends to do some browsing. Peter helped us. We all had a great time. My girlfriend had so much fun. Even I had fun, which I was not expecting. Super nice people, no pressure to purchase. Outstanding customer service. Very nice selection. I look forward to visiting them again.
I didn't buy anything from them, but I did have a good experience with them. This place is family owned and Peter (I think he is one of the sons) is very knowledgeable about diamonds, whereas some of the other sales staff aren't as so.
In general this place and most places in the LA Jewelry district are going to be in the same ballpark in terms of price... very competitive but still slightly higher than internet vendors such as Bluenile, Whiteflash, James Allen, etc... So I think if you are shopping in the LA Jewelry district, the key factor is going to be more about trust and how well the vendor works with you to pick out the diamond you want rather than the diamond they want to sell you.
Had a great experience at this shop in downtown la. The reviews helped as once you goto the diamond district you are faced with a ton of shops. Bought a loose diamond and a diamond necklace on 2 separate visits.. Friendly service and fair prices. They speak english and chinese and is a family owned business. Thanks to all the reviews here. My fiance wanted to make sure that he bought me a ring that I would love and that he would be proud that I was wearing, so after shopping on line for a few months we picked out the cut and quality we wanted to get. We went to Inta Gems after reading some very good reviews online and we knew we had found the right place on our first visit...Everyone at Inta Gems was helpful in the whole process, (and not at all pushy)...picking out the diamond, finding the right band, helping us find a good insurance company for it...etc. My ring is beautiful, and unique. He also had them replace a rhinestone in his college ring with a real diamond and they did an excellent job...I would highly recommend this place!
Looking for an engagement ring is stress enough if you're looking for something specific. After visiting every jewelry store in South Coast Plaza (to get an idea of what I wanted), I ventured out to the jewelry district in downtown LA. We met many a merchant eager to sell us something we didn't actually want, were escorted up to private offices and shown stones that in our opinion were quite inferior in quality than we (my fiance and I) were looking for. Steve at INTA Gems was just amazing, no joke. There's no pressure in the sale, the family owned business is all about helping you find what YOU want. Steve was patient and helpful and found us to perfect stone we were endlessly searching for. We got a great deal and 1 yr later I am still happy as ever about it. My husband also bought me a beautiful diamond pendant from Steve that outshines the rest. If you're looking for gemstones of any kind or a great diamond, you have to check out INTA Gems.
