So authentic that even the pricing seems to be Japanese.

Let me start with the bad:
I am not like separate two ply TP into two rolls cheap or anything - but sushi / japanese food falls into my higher end lunch budget.  So I was slightly put off to see a lunch menu that had $20+ items which were not [as far as I could tell] heaping portions of sushi or sashimi.  Seriously I like to stay in the $10 range, add a few pieces of the raw stuff and maybe split a roll, and call it a day.  Ino's menu seemed determined to prevent this.

The other strike was that when a friend and I happened in for a late lunch today we were the only patrons to be found.  I *hate* being the only patron.

Opposing this bad was:
The best piece of yellowtail I have ever eaten.
An extremely friendly staff and excellent service.
Great food.  I went with broiled salmon which was served sans sauce and held up delightfully.

I will be back but not on a regular basis.  In quality this trumps my regular dives but in terms of value its a hard sell.

This is a great authentic Japanese place--you will most definitely be dining with Japanese people (when our server wasn't helping us, she was chatting with an adorable family who ordered a bunch of items not even on the menu). The non-sushi items are indeed varied and done well; my tonkatsu was pretty much perfect. A very nice, quiet hidden-away restaurant you can go to relax and get very authentic fare.

Another nice perk is that they serve many different varieties of nabe, or Japanese hotpot stew (and may be the only place in Dallas to serve certain varieties), however the price was quoted to me as being $29 per person, which is outrageous.

One of the best Japanese places in Dallas.  This little gem is family owned by Ino.  It's small with simple decor.  Service is very friendly.  You'll almost always find Japanese eating here which you can't say about a lot of places.

The sushi here is great, but if you only eat the sushi you are really missing out on the best part of Ino.  Ino has some of the best (if not the best) non-sushi Japanese food in the city.  Ask for suggestions and if you are a little adventurous go for the Omakase (chefs choice) which literally means 'I leave it to you'.  Just mention anything you really don't like or can't eat.  This is often a good way to get some items that aren't on the menu.  Ino does have several things that aren't on the menu all the time, like curry rice.  Although simple it's one of my favorites and better then anywhere else.  Sometimes they'll even have oden, a kind of Japanese winter stew I've never seen outside of Japan.

Service is on the more leisurely side, so don't go when you are tight on time.  Expect to use your entire lunch hour.  It's well worth the time.

Excellent place that is well hidden - sucks to be you if you don't know where it is cause you are missing out :). Excellent service and delicious food - even people who think that all Japanese food is "raw sushi" are pleasantly surprised after they are done with their respective fully-cooked lunch combos. The miso soup and the green tea are excellent as well. Love it.

The last review of this place was over a year ago... I'd have say the place hasn't changed much if at all since then. The service is still friendly. The lunch menu is a bit short but the food quality makes up for it.
