I've never been to a bed and breakfast up until this week but I can honestly say that I am a fan of this one.  The rooms are clean and beautifully decorated.  Every room is done differently but they all have their own fireplace and patio or balcony with a view of the ocean.  Every room also has WiFi.

Included with your price of room are daily hor d'oeuvres and wine from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m..  From 7 p.m. till 9 p.m. is when they serve dessert.  Breakfast is a wonderful affair because they have different offerings for you to choose from.  They also give you the option of having breakfast in bed for $5 more.

Their hot tub is discreetly screened and feels like a little piece of Eden because of all the blossoming flowers.

Every staff person I had the pleasure of coming into contact with were friendly, professional and very helpful.  I told them the WiFi signal in my room was very weak so I was unable to get online.  I didn't think it was a big deal but they could tell I was a little sad.  Next thing I know, I went to the front area to get some coffee and the person at the desk informed me that the manager is going to upgrade me to a Queen balcony suite which is right above the office so for sure they know I will have a strong WiFi connection.

I asked for a slightly later check out time and again, they were more than willing to accommodate me and my inability to wake up early.

I will definitely be back to this beautiful little Inn by the sea.

I stayed here for about two weeks. So too did two of our guests.

This is one of the nicer properties in the area. it's situated about 15 minutes outside of Santa Barbara proper. Their rates for what they offer were better than those of similar properties within Santa Barbara.

They offer morning breakfast and an afternoon dessert with your room price.

Breakfasts were delicious...but more so if you're someone who considers 'butter" to be it's own food group. Very un-heart healthy fare.

We switched rooms a couple of times so we tried several during our stay. All of our rooms were worth it for the price they asked. All were kept reasonably clean and in good repair.

Now...with this much of a nice experience with this place you may wonder why I award them only 3 stars. So here's the truth...they're a nice property...but none of the members of our party were ever "wowed" in any manner by either the property or the service. And we spent a good two weeks here.

They offer a private lot for your car...but it can be a cramped pullout...so beware. I inflicted a substantial amount of body damage here to my own car. There's not too much within walking distance but Santa Barbara is a close drive up the freeway.

Like the first reviewer, I also had never stayed at a bed and breakfast until my stay at Inn on Summerhill.  Cleanliness is important to me and my room here was quite clean and tidy.  We stayed in a queen balcony room which had a great view of the ocean.  The only downer is that it's right off a main road/mini-freeway type thing.  But it wasn't loud and rather secluded/quiet.

Do not miss the breakfasts! They have more than one offering and unlike other b&bs, you do not have to arrive at a certain time to share breakfasts with the other guests so this benefits your leisure. The rooms are clean, each with their own fireplace and view of the ocean. A little too country for me but the music they have on for you when you enter your own room is a welcoming touch. My fireplace wasnt working but the staff was incredibly prompt in fixing it. Afternoon cheese/crackers w/complimentary wine. Evening dessert. Maybe 5 minutes from downtown Santa Barbara.  Short 2 minute drive from beach. Couple of cafes and saloon style restauraunts within walking distance.
