This place could have been a 5 star place. It is clean. The beds are comfortable. The bathrooms are clean and updated. Prices are reasonable. There is a complimentary breakfast (coffee, bagels, pastries, fruit). They were kind enough to put out gatorade for us marathoners at 4am. See, it sounds like it should be a 5 star place.
BUT, and a big BUT, there is clearly zero concept of service. First of all, my credit card got charged a few days before I was supposed to arrive and then was credited back to me. I called to find out why they ran the credit card and they apparently thought I was coming a week earlier. Hello, you should have called me to tell me that! Then, the front desk people are completely moronic. Check-in was a 25 min nightmare with "I could care less" attitudes. Later that day, I asked if there was shampoo, and I was told they didn't carry any, but there was a Safeway down the street. BUT, I went to my parents' room and they had some (I ended up walking into the linen closet and just taking it myself). It almost became comical to see the other guests getting equally irritated by the incompetent people who run this place.
Inn off Capitol Park: you have potential, too bad you can't step it up one small notch and hire employees who at least ACT like they care.

Fairly central location. Stayed here one night after getting plastered downtown. We paid a decent rate. Hotel is set up like a small apartment complex, around a central indoor courtyard that is also where the continental breakfast is served in the morning, should you wake up early enough. We came in drunk and loud, got no complaints from management and woke up and left. Mission accomplished. Oh, and there is a mini parking lot that is convenient if you need it.
SO-SO.
Here on a short business stay.
NEGATIVES
The room is a hybrid of a small dorm room/super fancy jail cell.
Was told by the front desk attendant that there isn't any eateries in the area within walking distance and suggested that I opt for delivery.
My feet are spilling off the bed...I'm 5ft. 4in.
POSITIVES
Room is very clean and doesn't stink.
Inn structure makes it difficult to run into fellow colleagues.
Gave it an extra star because my job is paying for it.
ADDENDUM:
Another negative...The walls are so thin, I can hear my neighbors thunderous farts.

HORRID. Horrid, horrid, horrid.
This was one of the hotels I chose for a block for my wedding. Each and every guest who stayed here had an issue. Including the bride (ME), who decided to spend the pre-wedding night here with her bridesmaids.
1. I reserved a 2-bed room for my bridesmaids and myself. They stuck us in a room with ONE bed, which forced one of my girls to sleep on an uncomfortable cot in a 1-foot wide space. Did I mention that this was after they told me they never had a room for me? I rarely get so livid that I ask to speak with managers, but I made the front desk call the night manager, who acted like it was my problem.
2. They did the same thing to a family of 5 who reserved a 2-bed room for my wedding. We had to rearrange the family into different rooms with other family members so they could all stay at the hotel. Again...manager was zero help. Front desk staffer looked to be about 12 years old, so you can imagine the great amount of aid I received there.
3. They then put my aunt and uncle, who only needed one bed, in a 2-bed room. Way to think it through, people.
My room was comp'ed, but only after spending roughly an hour on the phone with the night manager and nearly reaching a yelling point with her. This place made me want to scream.
Had a totally different experience here from Faith C., but that's probably because it was only one night and it was a work thing. We picked it since it was close to the meeting site and the government rate was way low and we didn't want anything super fancy, but we also didn't want anything gross. It was clean and low maintenance and there's HBO. Complimentary continental breakfast - again, nothing fancy - but it's close to several restaurants. So if that's what you're looking for, thumbs up.
