We stayed here for the weekend while attended a wedding in the area.  Overall, a decent stay for not a lot of money.

This is a no frills motel just off the freeway.  It is easy to get to and provides the basics of what you will need for a weekend getaway.  The beds and pillows are not that comfortable but the sheets are soft.  They don't have hair dryers in the rooms but they do have an iron, ironing board and ski racks.   Free wifi is available in their lobby.

We had dinner in downtown Truckee on Friday night since this motel is only a couple miles away.  There are hotels in the downtown area but they are more expensive.

We might try and find a cabin the next time we are in the area but this is a good back up place to stay.

Decent lodging at reasonable prices.  Depending on when you go there you maybe able to get a 'stair climber's' special with a coupon from their website.  I think it was under $100 for a two bed room on the weekend (for the trouble of going up two floors worth of stairs).

They have a hot tub which I didn't try.  It's close to Squaw, Northstar and kind of close to Sugarbowl.

Nothing spectauler but the price and location are right.

I nice little hidden place to stay right off of the 80.  The rooms seem a little spartan, but when I go to Tahoe I don't really go there for luxurious lodgings, all I want is a private shower to get cleaned up and a bed to lay my battered and bruised body on.  I think it is pretty hard to beat for the price and beats many of the local resorts that don't even offer a private bathroom...  Shoot I went to college I don't need to relive the communal dorm style bathroom that everyone on a floor uses....  The hot tub is pretty nice to warm up, nothing better then chilling in a hot tub surrounded by snow, drinking a beer and reflecting on the runs and spills you had that day with some friends!  The staff here is pretty friendly and even gave me advice on where the locals go for food and drink.

Not as noticeable as the ones right off of 80 and not as charming as the ones in the historic downtown. If 80 gets closed down by a storm this is one of the better bets that you'll get a room, although quite basic, as everyone's fighting for lodging.
