How many places do you work at that you would truly give the thumbs up? Well I worked here for almost a year and just left in June and I'm going to show some love.
If you're a baseball fan you'll love this place, it's across the street from Minute Maid and baseballed out. What's better then getting a couple drinks in the lobby, getting a couple drinks at the game, and then getting a couple more in the lobby, forget driving you barely have to walk.
The lobby can get a little crowded if there is a home game and I have to admit I can't stand baseball, and there were more than a few home game nights where I asked myself Why The Hell do I Work Here (but that's more of a personal matter)
But honestly if you don't like baseball stay on a night without a home game and it's a completely different experience. Everyone who works there are good people and actually care about doing a decent job so be good to them and they will take care of you.

I stayed here during Valentines, and was thoroughly impressed. The main lobby is wonderful, and very inviting. Next to the lobby is a elegant restaurant. The food is very tasty, and filling. The lights are dimmed for a romantic setting. Wait there is more. Located right slab in the middle of the lobby is a bar. The drinks are pricey, but the you can tell bartenders really knew their stuff. Two stiff "long islands" hits the spot every time.
Oh yea did I mention that this place is a Inn. The rooms are very spacious with warm feel. Hardwood floors are though out the room. This place has a lot of character.
Oh if you are into resturants/piano bars. Vic and Anthony's is located next door to the Inn. If you are visiting Houston downtown area, stay here this is must see.

The hotel policies are too rigid. Checkout is 11:00, I asked if I could check out at noon because I was taking a CEU class that gets out at 11:30 at the GRB Convention Center 6 blocks away. No Bueno, 10 minutes grace period, that's it. Its late October, no baseball, no basketball games, we're at the convention center for three days spending money, what gives? It is valet parking only. I like to travel with a small Igloo cooler with water and fruit; no bueno. If you're diabetic, esta bien. The rooms are nicely furnished, very small view of the atrium, no outside view. I would not stay here again.

Effective theme, comfortable rooms - $100/night when the Hilton wanted $250. Great location, excellent staff. A+
my room was very spacious, clean and cozy...the hotel has a cool western / baseball theme.. my only complaints is the wireless internet never work, wasn't any water bottles provided in the room like all the other 4 star hotels i been to, overnight parking for each day is almost $25 .. and the location is only great if your a baseball fan or steak lover (vic & anthony steakhouse)
Currently staying here on a business trip for the week -- so far so good! Beds are cozy, bathrooms are nice, and there's free internet. I really liked the lobby, felt like i was sitting in the middle of a park, except with leather couches all over the place!! What else -- ate at the cafe which was decent and I loved the view of the ballpark!
Nice place to stay if you're trying to catch an Astros game, since Minute Maid Park is right across the street. It's also very close to the convention center as well.
Staff was very friendly -- always greeting me when i walk by :) I'd definitely stay here again if I were to ever land back in Houston!

Stayed here while at a convention in Houston last week. It's decorated (definitely like a den) but a guy's idea of the perfect hotel - big plasma screen tv's, about 15 sports channels offered, wood floors and walls. Bed was cozy, staff overall was very nice and accomodating - although there was never enough staff at the front desk, you always had to wait.
My room was on the 3rd floor and interior of the building, and my windows overlooked the lobby and bar. I had to keep my shades down the whole week... and the party animals at the lobby bar kept me up (yes, yes, I am getting OLD) with yelling at each other and the tv. Ask them to stay above the 6th floor where you won't be overlooking the lobby.
Otherwise, I'd stay here again - the restaurant next door Vic & Anthony's - is excellent.

If you love baseball you're in for a treat! This boutique hotel revolves around everything pertaining to baseball AND it's conveniently located across the street from Minute Maid Park. I can't think of a better hotel for a family trip or a weekend get-away for the baseball lover in your life.
The best part is that while the baseball theme is not subtle it's also not kitchy and overwrought. The rooms remind me of my friends' parent's den. Besides being nice, clean, and orderly, they're also a little dark and a little plaid. With hardwood floors, Aveda products, and oversized bath towels even the non-baseball lover will enjoy their stay.
The Inn has a decent bar and atrium for relaxing after a long game (though what's up with all the fake plants) and a cafe. Or, if you want something a bit fancier Vic and Anthony's Steakhouse is a few steps away. I wouldn't recommend this for a romantic trip to Houston (unless you BOTH appreciate baseball) but for kids, parents and out-of-town guests just itching to root, root, root for the home-team...I can think of no better place to stay!

We stayed at this hotel with another couple and really enjoyed it. The room was spacious, nicely appointed and met all our needs. Only one problem, the wireless internet barely worked at all. Unfortunately, the other couple had a much smaller room, even though it was at the same rate as ours.
The cafe is good, but small and they don't have enough staff. The staff they have are running like crazy to keep up with the diners and bus tables and seat people. This is definitely a management failure.

I would not stay here again.
We came for the Astros/Cubs game, and at the price, exptected to be pampered. Upon initially entering the hotel, we were pleased. The lobby is wonderful--lots of leather couches and a club feel. The rooms are okay, but nothing notable here. After paying $500 for two nights stay, I was shocked to learn the TVs were old-style washed out televisions from the 90's.
There are no mechanisms to keep the doors from slamming as hotel guests arrive and leave from their rooms. The doors woke me at all hours and grated on me every time the sound reverberated through my room.
Next time, I'll stay at the Alden, Hyatt, or another place in walking distance to the game.
