From the beautiful location next to Notre Dame's campus and even closer to the soon to be great school St. Marys this hotel has everything necessary to accommodate a great stay. My wife and I stayed in the suite which was as roomy as it was nice. A full living room plus mini kitchen and even a Jacuzzi in the king size bedroom.
Something that must be noted is one of my favorite features of the hotel. We were able to order REAL Chicago deep dish pizza from Gino's East and have it delivered right to our room. The best part about this is that it is not absurdly expensive like most room service food is.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Inn at St. Marys! -

This is our FAVORITE place to stay when we are visiting the University of Notre Dame. Our daughter was a student at ND for 4 years, so we know the area well.
The Inn at St. Mary's is a very classy and convenient place to stay. The Inn has always been very clean, with comfortable beds and nice rooms.
They also serve a super great breakfast, complimentary breakfast---from scrambled eggs, bacon, Belgium waffles, to biscuits and gravy! They actually use real serving ware plates and flatware--so, no paper plates and plastic forks here---yay!!!
We were lucky enough to be able to reserve JPW (Junior Parents Weekend) and ND Graduation, here, too!! Football weekends are a little more difficult to find accommodations here, since those weekends are booked a year in advance, but you might just be able to find a last minute cancellation here!!
I recommended the Inn at St. Mary's for anyone traveling to ND!! -

I've stayed at the Inn at Saint Mary's twice since it opened in the early 90s, once for the ND-Free Shoes U game in '93 and the other time for a family reunion in the late 90s.
So it's been a while since I've taken in the comforts here, but the memories are all positive. Do any stand out? Yes, one in particular. For some reason they've seen fit to place a mirror on the bathroom door. No, not above the sink, above the door. You can actually watch yourself take care of your nasty business. Not even the Ritz can make such a claim. -

The ideal place to stay if you want to stay super close to campus and the toll road. With pretty nice facilities for this area. Rates I remember started at 125.00+ I don't know about football season though.. rates might be more expensive at that time. It is a very short driving distance from St. Mary's and Notre dame. Actually you can probably just walk to St. Mary's. There are no sidewalks within this area of town... only in random spots, so it's kinda unsafe yet I've seen it done on game day. Didn't you know? Townies are too good to walk the streets here, that's why there's a lack of sidewalks, there's no need. Only in random stretches to F with tourists, out of state students and business travelers. So watch out for the cars cuz the drivers in south bend are borderline retarded.

Lovely place to stay. Very helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms. I really like the atmosphere here. There are usually people from all over the U.S. staying here because of Notre Dame. Who wants to walk right next to the tollway? Which is where this is located. The use of the word retarded? You must be like what, 14?
