I stayed here again this August.   This is a very friendly warm and open place where locals, tourists, day hikers and thru-hikers all get along.    There is a comfortable Irish pub with a good, but but not etensive pub menu.  Irish beer and Whiskey is a big theme and the use Guinness in a couple of their recipes as well as selling it on tap.   Weekends feature Irish music - which on the nights I've heard it was full of rowdy drinking songs performed by folks who were better entertainers than they were musicians.

The other public areas are very nice, they have a well stocked game room and a nice public area to hang out in.   The dining room and the pub are both built around large bolders and the dining room looks out and in the summer you can often see hummingbirds feeding in the morning.

Other pluses:

Fireplace suites with gas lit fireplaces and dogs allowed.
Adequate reasonably priced rooms.
Full breakfast from a menu in the morning with rooms.

The restaurant is open in the winter.   I have only been there summers, but it looks like a very cozy place to hang out after skiing or snowshoeing.

Shame on me for not trying their restaurant sooner.

They not only have a great Irish pub-they have a fantastic restaurant!

I've made numerous visits here on trips to Killington-usually just a short visit to the bar for a drink in front of the fireplace and perhaps some shephard's pie.  Occasionally to hang out and listen to live Celtic music.  It was always a cool stop to make.  You may encounter a hiker from anywhere in the world sitting on a large granite boulder which serves as casual seating (I think the lounge was built around boulders).

On my last visit here, I actually stayed in one of their rooms.  The room was NOT opulent by any stretch, but relatively comfortable and there was a cozy fireplace.  The Bed and Breakfast package included a full dinner in their main dining room-never knew they had a dining room!  I almost passed it up since we had a long list of "great" restaurants I wanted to hit.  However, the gal at the check in convinced me to give it a try.  So, on a cold snowy night, I settled into a warm, nicely decorated, practically empty dining room.

I were floored.  The food was phenomenal!  The menu in no way resembled the lounge menu.  There were some really hearty, fresh, seasonal and creative dishes.  It was a delicious, relaxing meal.  The service was great-relaxed, yet properly attentive (a few more tables did fill in through the evening) and now this is on my list of favorite Vermont restaurants!

One of my favorite places.. Ive spent New years and many nights here, very nice people, always the same bartender, a great Vermont pub. Its located right below Deer's Leap, which is a nice hike up the mountain to a great view of  Pico.  Nice fireplace and irish pub (get the potatoe skins and stick around for the great irish music with different bands weekly)  with the luxery of cheap decent rooms.  a great place stop and have a beer if you happen to be driving up the mountain to Killington. the pub area fits abround 30-45 people id say.
