Great service, no hassle, good prices. They took our 5 year old mac, which was dead-in-the-water and gave it new life, new upgraded/expanded memory. Now it's humming. Easy to deal with, super flexible.
This was the 4th time we've used in-Home-Mac and we're always happy. I don't even worry about the Apple stuff any more, I just call this crew and let them deal with it. Definitely will use them again. -

I got my iPhone repaired here after I shattered the front screen. It took about a week for the glass to arrive, but I was willing to wait for the price. Here's the breakdown in price for fixing an iPhone 4 screen in Berkeley/East Bay:
Mac store: $200
inHome Mac: $70 + a Yelp discount
Joe iPhone: $100 (for the iphone 4)
iSpecialize: $100
Fix that Mac: $120
So, it was a really good deal by comparison. The screen looks great and there weren't any issues with dust getting under there as some reviewers have noted for iPhone repairs at other places.
They're currently between shops, so I did have to take it to one of the owner's (Matt's) home for repair. He was flexible on timing of the repair and let me wait while he fixed it. -

I used inHomeMac to repair the cracked screen on my older MacBook, after I upgraded to a MacBook Pro. I had planned to give it to my girlfriend.
I took advantage of their yelp special making them the cheapest I found. However, it took about a week and a half to complete the job. It wasn't a biggie since I already had a new laptop and didn't need that one. But, they didn't call me to let me know it would take longer than they estimated. I called to inquire, when I hadn't heard from them. They told me that the job would take longer because it was more complicated than they initially thought. When I did get the laptop back, the screen looked great! However, a couple days later, I couldn't get the laptop to come on at all. I don't know if it was due to their repair, or whatever is wrong with it happened to coincide with the screen job. In either case, that laptop with new screen is just sitting on my desk now. Guess I'll have to research somebody to diagnose it. Meh. -

We got the hand-me-down old iMac G5 from hubby's office and it had Tiger on it. Can you imagine? Tiger? And it's PowerPC. Okay...that's the extent of my knowledge gleened from the internet.
Called in the morning, took it down to the Alameda location around 1:30, and by 5:00 I had Leopard (as far as the PowerPC will allow us to go) AND Word, Excel and Powerpoint.....all very basic, yes, but I would have had to run around looking for the right options had they not had it all right there. Plus they installed the appropriate print driver for my printer so that when I got home it would actually print. Again...sounds basic....but for those of us who have very fundamental knowledge (and patience) with installing everything correctly, it was a lifesaver. So mad props....and I'll 100% use them again. -

I love Matthew and how he's extended the life of, and expanded the capacity of my computer.
He came to the house and optimized my wi-fi, hid my ugly modem and made it work more efficiently and make my own "network" so we have more privacy.
He works quick and I love that he explains stuff well.
Thanks Matthew. -

Great experience.
Brought in my Mac laptop and Matthew diagnosed and replaced my hard drive quickly and friendly. He was knowledgable and answered my questions. Also, the price was reasonable. I would absolutely refer them to others and come back again. -

Matt and his team are the best. I have had SO many problems with my Macbook, and then I found Matt. He is always willing to help me quickly even though he is so busy. They are now in Alameda which is much more convenient for me. Very friendly, understanding, and priced right.

My MacBook Pro started not opening programs then would simply not boot. I took it to Matt at InHomeMAC and within 2 hrs. he had it diagnosed and repaired. Matt really knows his stuff! It now runs better, and faster, than it has in 2 years. If I could give InHomeMAC more than 5 stars I would! Matt and InHomeMAC will have my business forever!! Don't even think about using someone else for repairs! Thanks!!!!

I was calling around to get repair estimates for my MacBook. I live about 1/2 a mile from inHomeMAC and thought it convenient. I called and left a message for a return call. They stated they had a turn around time of 24-hours for messages. It has now been 4 days and still no telephone call. I know they are by appointment only and they could be busy but a 5 minute telephone conversation does wonders for customer service. Makes me wonder if they want or need any more business.
A few days ago I received an email from Matt at inHomeMAC stating they had just moved into their new location and had some technical difficulties which contributed to not getting back to me. He asked if I would bring in my Mac and they would take a look at it. Everywhere else advised me to just purchase a new Mac which I didn't want to do right now. Matt gave me a few solutions to my problem and was able to fix my Mac cheaper and quicker than I could find. The Mac was ready the next day. He was leaving the office and offered to bring my Mac to me and I paid for it when he arrived.
Matt indeed does a wonderful job and prides himself on his repair and customer service. I now see why so many give him 5 stars and realized my experience was an anomaly. I would take my computer needs to him any time. Thank you Matt for doing such a great job (sorry about the initial review)!Comment from Matthew M. of inHomeMAC 3/26/2011

Matt is awesome, plain and simple. Very smart guy, whiz with MACs, and friendly to work with.
I was in a bind and needed to replace my HD and transfer my files over. While most places were charging astronomical fee's for what seemed to be a simple task, InHomeMAC quoted me a reasonable price w/ pick-up and drop-off. You really can't beat it.
What started off as a business transaction turned into a good friendship. I would wholeheartedly recommend InHomeMAC to anyone needing solid and reasonably priced MAC support. -

Matt is fantastic!!!! I have been through a string of seriously psycho computer-fixers and he is not only sane (a big plus) but efficient and great at what he does. He does all of our home computer fixing as well as those at the nonprofit organization where I work.
He just did this amazing thing to my 2 yr old MacBook (archive and..something? rebuild?) and it is lightning fast now, better than new. I am sooooo so relieved and pleased we finally found InHomeMAC! -

iHomeMac has become my only computer servicer. Even better, with the addition of Kyle Hansen as the PC guy, my dual platform MacBookPro is running fabulously. I love that they recommend things that aren't necessarily involved with making huge additional purchases. I completely trust Matt and his team with my machine.

It was showing code (panic kerning...or something like that) that I couldn't understand. I called inHomeMAC based on a referral from my friend. He had me up and running in one day. THANKS!!!

I give this place their 16th consecutive 5-star review. They upgraded my old macbook with a fat new hard drive. It came back in no time with the same data as before. Parts/labor cost was very satisfactory. The best part was the email back & forth we did lining up needs and wants with possibilities & prices. Matt handled that like a total pro and got me to make a trip across the bay (through awful holiday traffic), because it made me confident about getting a job done right, instead of risking doing a bad job on my own with things I had no experience doing. Best of all, a simple drop-off and pick-up turned into an engrossing 45 minutes of shop talk. You don't get that from most places. Couldn't be more happy.

There is a reason so many people have given Matt 5 stars-- he is a rock star, possessing massive technical skills and quite simply the best customer service I have experienced...ever.
I'm a software developer so I can't afford to be without my Macbook Pro 15 very long and last year, I started having display problems, although luckily I could connect it to an external monitor. Matt very quickly diagnosed my problem, ordered the part and gave my laptop back. I forgot my power adapter and Matt, on his way to a home repair, met me closer to my house to hand it off! Now that's service!
More recently my touchpad started to flake out and it was just becoming too annoying to deal with. I dropped my laptop off on a Saturday and came by a few hours later and he replaced the Top Case and it was fine again. Thanks Matt! -

I am not a regular Mac user (I have a few Windows skills) and this could explain how I lost my entire calendar for 2011 and forever... After a few tender blunders on my own I was referred to inHomeMAC's Matthew Moglia who swooped in, restored my life as I knew it and kept me from screaming and setting my hair on fire---and at a most reasonable and affordable price. It is a delight to watch someone who knows what he is doing do what he does. When I screw up the next time I shall endure much less panic knowing help is a few miles away and mobile.

Matt saved an eight-year-old Powerbook that no other Mac service wanted to even look at. I asked him if I needed to add RAM to it and he said it was just fine. I know most others would have said yes, just to sell me up. After I give this PB to my aunt, I'm going to buy another used Mac for myself with complete faith that if anything goes wrong, I can turn to him for fair, honest, and fast service.
Here's how much faith I have in him. I'd recommend him to a friend who knew nothing about a Mac except how to turn it on, because I have 100% confidence Matt would not rip him off. -

Matt and Chad were awesome. Diagnosed my problem instantly, ordered the parts, and got my macbook pro running like new. I'm am certain that my mac would have melted-down had I not gotten it to these guys.
By the way, I had taken my computer to the Apple Store "genius" bar twice for the same problem which they didn't resolve. Since my positive dealings with Matt and Chad, I'm not worried that my Apple Care has expired. -

Matt was able to solve a problem that I had been dealing with for an entire year-
My ASUS monitor didn't work when I started my bootcamp partition on my Mac. I went to Apple, ASUS, and Macintosh, only to find that each would point the finger at the other for the problem.
I finally decided to find outside help. In less than a 1/2 hour, Matt got Windows to run on the monitor. The whole process couldn't have been more pain-less. Thank you inHomeMAC! -

They stayed open past their business hours. they were extremely friendly and made me really feel comfortable. Their business was very clean and appeared very well maintained. I had brought in my iphone in pieces because i tried to replace the screen my self, so almost every piece was in a little snack bag and he took the bags and got to work without even so much as giving me a weird look. they do the repair Very Quickly, and in the front, so you can see how they do it. very well run and they are So Local to people living in alameda. They are like a second away from park st., on the same street that the bike shop is. Planning on bringing my other mac products in soon.

I have used a couple other guys in the past with our mac issues. I came across Matt on craigslist when I bought a used iMac. He set it up right and in future visits found photos I thought were gone forever and saved my entire erased iPod. I love mac's but the truth is I don't know much about computers and matt is a personable guy I felt comfortable leaving in my home with out needing to br there. I have turned a few other clients of mine onto him. I like that it is only one guy you deal with who remembers you and past issues rather than starting from scratch each visit.

I cannot say enough good things about this company. I am sooooooo pleased. I have wanted to get my computer fixed for over a year now and I really didn't know where to go since I am new to Easy Bay. I first googled MacMedics and called them and they were not very friendly and quoted me $125.00 an hour for tutorial - they didn't seem that interested in helping me. Since I was not impressed, I researched some more online and found InHomeMAC. I was so impressed with the level of service and professionalism that I received during the initial telephone call that I did not hesitate to schedule an appointment with them! I am very happy with the end results. They went above and beyond my expectations and this is an exceptional company. Thank you InHomeMAC - you guys are awesome!!!

My Powerbook crapped out late on a Friday night in the middle of an important project. I was desperate to get back up and running and turned to Yelp for recommendations. I was excited to find a highly-rated Mac repair guy in my neighborhood and made the call early Saturday morning. He returned my call promptly and got right on the job. Long story short, Matt is now my Mac guy-for-life. He knows his stuff, goes above and beyond--and his prices beat the competition. 'Nuff said...
