11 reviews for Infusion Tea
Infusion tea understands what it means to be a teahouse. They offer a wide selection of teas - hot or iced, The decor is rustic and the vibe is relaxing. I enjoy Infusion most on a weekday afternoon that I happen to be free. It isn't crowded during these times and it's always nice to enjoy the afternoon with friends or a book.
You will also find some of the best vegan food in town as referenced by other reviewers. I am not vegan, but I still love the food.
The main reason I am leaving one star off is because the umbrellas outside are a serious risk. If you are sitting outside, you run the risk of the wind blowing the umbrella and hitting you in the face. That's my only criticism and I hesitate to make it because I want to encourage you all to go. However, it's better for my fellow Yelpers to be informed!
For over a year I have worked near the College Park area and can not believe it took me until last week to pay a visit to this fine establishment. I have made multiple trips to the other local vegetarian/ vegan establishments, but none of them hold a candle to Tea Infusion.
Immediately upon stepping inside I was taken aback by the wonderful earthy atmosphere of the café. The cashier was great at recommending a great tea from the large selection and I was happy to hear that any tea could be served iced on the hot summer day. If you go I personally recommend the Passion Fruit Green Tea. Yum!
In May I spent some time in San Antonio and though I was craving tamales, I was unable to find any semi-healthy versions to enjoy. It took me until September to find the perfect tamales at Infusion Café. The Vegan Tamales were not greasy at all and tasted very fresh. Mine were served with a side of black beans and rice that were wonderfully infused with fresh spices, onions and peppers. They reminded me of the black beans I make from scratch at home.
My boss enjoyed lunch with me. She ordered the Raspberry Salad and made attempts to lick her bowl clean when she finished. To round the meal out the two of us split a Greek Pizza. The pizza came with lovely fresh toppings and a crust that melted in your mouth.
I honestly can not wait to visit Tea Infusion again. This may be my new home away from home. :)
This place understands the process of tea. It's not just about drinking the tea--it's about aroma, music, steeping, pouring, relaxing, and enjoying. The co-op featuring useful creations of local artists helps one remember the creative self and makes you want to go home and nourish your spirit somehow.
I enjoy tea for all the above reasons, and I'm so thrilled to have found a place locally where I can go to just chill. Another great thing about this spot is that it is a book crossing location.
You can pick up free books, read them, and leave them somewhere else "in the wild" for someone else to find. You log into a website and leave notes about where you found the book and pass it on. A great way to read, knowing that your book could potentially travel the world in the process.
I had a veggie quesadilla which was ok. I think I would have enjoyed the salad more, but that is for another trip.
I'm so inclined to take out my tea sets and steep me a cup right now! Definitely a place that should be visited often!
The other night, in typical fashion Marty and I were having trouble deciding on a place to eat. Unfortunately I suggested Infusion Tea in College Park, read him the menu and got him all psyched about trying their nut and honey wrap before I checked their hours. As it turned out they close at 8pm and when we were driving down the road that night it was already 7:45pm. Trying to redeem myself, I thought perhaps their Thornton Park location might have later hours so I called the number on the website. Bad news is that the Thornton Park location (inside Urban Think!) closed permanently a month ago - another victim of the times. The good news was that the girl on the phone said cheerfully, "We are having an art opening tonight anyway so if you show up a little after 8pm, I wouldn't turn you away!" "Seriously I said a bit incredulously, you would still serve us?" "Sure" she replied, "We're like that here."
Can I just say how incredibly refreshing and remarkable it was to come across that kind of attitude? Not only did they live up to her promise and let us in when we arrived on their doorstep at 8pm but we were greeted with smiles and made to feel welcome. No one rolled his or her eyes at us or acted put out and impatient as we decided what we wanted (which actually happed to us at an ice cream place while we were on vacation in Sanibel). No one sprayed ammonia cleaner on the tables around us and swept under our feet as we ate our meals (which we've experienced at other places near closing times). No one turned the dining room lights out while we were still finishing our meals (yet another prime example of service we've received elsewhere). The staff at Infusion Tea was helpful, accommodating, and pleasant. They made us feel comfortable - dare I say as if they actually appreciated our business.
Marty was able to have his Nut & Honey wrap after all and it was quite tasty. The generously sized whole-wheat wrap came to the table filled with cashew butter, bananas, local Winter Park honey, strawberries and granola. On the side he was served a little fruit salad which was an unexpected treat. I opted for the hummus and veggie wrap. It came brimming with fresh spinach leaves, red onion, bell pepper, cucumber, organic tomatoes and hummus. On the side, I was served a little salad that among other things included edamame, black beans and garbanzo beans. I really appreciated the fact that they had put enough care and thought into the menu to serve side salads that actually complimented the individual wraps rather than using the more typical generic, one side fits all mentality. We shared a pitcher of iced Pineapple Bliss tea. Marty liked it so much that we bought a tin of it to bring home before we left.
The food at Infusion Tea is fresh, tasty vegetarian fare. Their selection of loose teas is vast and they offer an assortment of baked desserts in addition to gelato. You can also feed your artistic side while you are there by shopping in the attached gallery, which features a variety of local artists and their wares. Most importantly they seem to understand that people have a lot of options when it comes to spending money so they genuinely seem to appreciate the fact that you have chosen to spend some with them. They are like that here.
I just had dinner here last week for the first time... IT WAS AMAZING!
The vegetarian chili and mushroom bisque were delicious. The Black bean with lime rice was fantastic. It was nice and warm, pressed just long enough. The pesto panini was also good, a nice variety of grilled veggies served perfectly. Also, try one of teas here. They have LOTS of teas in different varieties. I didn't even know they had white tea. I even commented on saying, "Do they have teas for every color of the rainbow?"... :)
I'll definitely be back again soon!
I have been to the Thornton Park location and now believe that this one is my favorite. It feels more like a café and has a much better atmosphere. No disrespect to the Thornton Park people though.
The green chairs and yellow tables match the feel that this tea shop inspires perfectly, or to a "tee."
I am not an avid tea drinker so when I walked in hoping to order a coffee of some sort, I was overcome with the amount of tea choices there were. Labeled glass canisters line shelves behind the counter so customers can see exactly what they want. When I did ask about their coffee the friendly server told me she could make me French press coffee, cappuccinos, lattes and espresso. I ended ordering a chai tea latte which was by far the best I've ever had. It was full of flavor and definitely left me slurping the last drops through my straw. For a small it was $3.73 which isn't cheap but isn't above what competitors charge either.
It was post-lunchtime so I wasn't hungry but if I had been there around breakfast time I would have paired my latte with one of their whole grain blueberry muffins or a slice of their organic banana bread. They even sell the mix for the banana bread so you can make some on your own. If you are in the mood for real food they have a considerable menu that changes seasonally. Wraps, salads, paninis top my list. I can't wait to try their Pesto Panini ($8) which consists of roasted red peppers, artichoke hearts, organic eggplant, spinach, tomato, and fresh basil pesto pressed on thick-cut ciabatta bread. They also feature platters for sharing, pizzas and options for kids. Most items on the menu are vegan friendly as well as organic.
To sum up my thoughts on why this place is so fabulous, I'll include a quote that they have on the back wall, "Slow down. Sip. This is true life." If only we could adhere to that simple mantra on a daily basis.
A really cool tea shop in college park. The tea selection is awesome, the descriptions are accurate and very helpful. They have a great selection of organic teas too. My favorites are Blackberry Sage and Wintermint Rooibus.
The cafe delivers fresh, delicious and reasonably priced food, very vegetarian friendly. Taking them down a star from 5 because the tempeh chili isn't as good as it was a year ago.
The shop attached features products from local artisans, and while that usually means a hefty price tag, I find the prices are fair for some really unique gifts.
It's nice to see a cafe in Orlando that offers vegetarian and vegan options, alongside with great wifi. The tea selection is extensive, covering a broad range of types (white, black, red, green & herbal). They do also have coffee.
I had a great hummus and avocado wrap, super fresh. They also have seasonal offerings (the day I was there it was pumpkin hummus). Staff were helpful when I went to buy some tea as well.
There's indoor and outdoor seating. Place seems clean.
The only drawback is that this place can be a bit confusing the first time. Infusion follows the order-at-the-counter-we'll-give-you-a-number-and-b ring-you-your-food approach, which I'm well accustomed to, but I find the fact that the menus are hidden up by the cash register makes the cash register logjam. The menu boards are so full of tea descriptions, there's no space left for food, which means that everyone gets to the counter and has to figure out what they want.
Infusion is a great place to go for all sorts of teas - high tea, iced tea or just a cup of hot tea served with fresh seasonal vegetarian food. They have a great selection of black, green or herbal loose leaf teas and tea accessories and great healthy food in an airy light atmosphere. Their building is shared with "cottage industry" which sells a variety of local... stuffs like jewelry and shirts and art and such.
I have to concur with the other reviews of Infusion Tea. I enjoy going to Infusion Tea and just relaxing! With their extensive list of teas, I get to try a new flavor whenever I come in. The folks who work there are very knowledgeable and will offer suggestions for the tea that fits how I am feeling.
When ordering food, I usually stick with one of their salads because they are so tasty. Their raspberry salad (organic field greens topped with toasted walnuts, crumbled bleu cheese, dried cranberries, and raspberry vinaigrette) is simply delicious. The greens are always fresh and never limp and they put in the right amount of nuts, cheese and dried fruit. My daughter and I treated ourselves one day to their "Light Tea" which included organic banana bread, 2 fresh-baked scones with Devon creme and strawberry jam, and a 2-cup pot of tea. There was so much food, that we ended up taking some of it home. The creme and jam on the scones was delightful and the banana bread was so fresh! Now, every time we go in to eat, she immediately asks if we can get the Light Tea again! All food is vegetarian, so you don't have to ask if there is meat or meat products in their entrees.
I am happy that Infusion Tea has moved into a much larger space and has more seating available. They have also opened a second location at Urban Think Bookstore in Thorton Park.
Beyond the food and teas, Infusion also offers live music, live poetry, film nights, and often display art from local artists. They truly try to support the community and I really appreciate that! I feel good when I go in there knowing that I am supporting a business that shares my values!
This is one of my favorite places to grab a bite in Orlando. The food is fresh and delicious, the atmosphere is casual and the tea is amazing. This is place is vegetarian, but even non-vegetarians will love it.
