48 reviews for Infinite Body Piercing
The store is immaculate up front, not what I'd expect of a piercing place at all! It's located down a sort of sketchy looking side street off of South Street, so I was a little apprehensive the first time I went there.
I had my earlobes pierced here in May 2009, and Clay, the piercer, was really very friendly and answered all of my questions, no matter how inane they were. I left with a really good impression of the place, thinking that all the piercers there were just as professional.
Fast forward to Oct 2009, and my room mate decides to get an industrial piercing. So we head off to Infinite again. This time, though, her piercer is a woman named Hydi. Though I'm sure she was sanitary and what not, her attitude left much to be wanted. She was, to put it nicely, grumpy, terse, and altogether unpleasant.
I suppose if I ever feel the inclination to get another piercing, I'll come here again, but not if Hydi's the only piercer around.
With only a few discreetly located black ink tattoos, and no shocking body mods of which to speak, I was, needless to say, a tad intimidated to walk through these doors. My fears were immediately allayed, however, the moment I walked up to the counter and met Jen Minuti, the woman who was about to become my new best friend for the next 20 minutes.
This chick is super chill, but also makes no bones about the fact that she knows what the hell she's doing, and (other than the pain I was anticipating) I was suddenly fearless. Also, I might add that this particular piercing was in a very...ahem..."personal" location, but Jen's attitude made me feel like it was just like any other part of my body--no embarrassment on my part, and definitely no discomfort on hers.
The whole thing cost me under $80 including jewelry, plus I got to keep my marking sharpie, and the pleasure of writing with that thing knowing where it's been was worth it in itself.
So, while I'm not saying that I'll be filling up the little boxes on my "frequent piercer card" any time soon, if I ever get the urge again, this is my stop, no questions asked. Fight through the crowds of pre-pubescents trying to pretend that navel rings are sooo bad-ass, and go getcha self pierced.
Once upon a time, I needed to get my nipples pierced. Happy 18th birthday, self! While I thought I was a badass for doing it, I was scared shitless and scanning the internet every spare minute I had. I don't even know where I read the recommendation for Infinite, but the second I walked in there I felt at ease...aside from the nerves associatied with anticipating someone shoving a needle through your nips.
The store is surgically clean. Everyone is SUPER knowledgeable and friendly, and nobody gives off that "hipper than thou" vibe you can get at a lot of tattoo/piercing places when you walk in without full sleeves and 10 visible pieces of jewelry.
They also take their job very seriously and are more responsible than any piercers I've ever experienced. To test this hypothesis, a friend and I showed up stupid drunk one day in hopes of getting our faces pierced. We paid, and then the piercer asked "have you guys been drinking?" and, after a long pause, we responded with "...not for awhile." They refunded our money and sent us on our merry way, and they weren't even assholes about it!!! They should have been; we had no business being in their shop.
Anyways. A++++. If you're getting anything pierced, please do your body a favor and go here.

Every time I want a new hole in my face, or I'm even just thinking about putting a new hole in my face, I refuse to go anywhere BUT Infinite. They are *a little* pricey, but it's worth it, because these guys are pros. When punching holes in your face or body, please spare no expense.
The folks at Infinite are the first ones to tell you that they are not doctors, but they really really know their stuff, and are there to help (both the piercers and the desk people). They always check out the area you want pierced first and ask you a million questions to make sure it's do-able and safe, and if it's not, they send your ass home. I like this - it's not all about the Benjamins over at Infinite. They also will insert/change/remove stuff for you that you can't get in/out on your own for no charge, just because they're nice.
The shop is well organized, clean as a whistle, and whether you're already pumped full of metal, or you're going for your first nostril screw, you will be treated very politely and non-judgmentally.
Hooray for Infinite.

Popped into Infinite to buy a replacement ball for my belly ring (it's 15 years old, give me a break). Not only did the super cute/super helpful counter girl help me find the right one, she also didn't charge me. The piercer adjusted the sizing of the hoop thing (so it would fasten to the ball correctly), and then looped it though my belly button. Again, for free.
I left completely impressed, satisfied and with money in my pocket. Such a good deed will come back to them surely.
I'd like to point out that I don't like saying the words "belly button," but I did it for you, Yelp. I did it for you.

IMHO, The only PLACE to go for piercings.
Period.
Professional, knowledgeable.
If they don't recommend or turn you away DON'T get the piercing.
Since it's been six months since I got my nostril pierced, I've been wanting to buy a new nose screw. Since I was on South Street anyway, I decided to drop by Infinite to see what they have, though I knew it would probably be on the pricey side. However I also knew that they are dependable.
Although I was slightly hesitant about spending the 20 bucks or so for a screw, I was assured by the woman there that although you can get jewelry elsewhere for, like, six bucks, it's better and safer to know that you're putting quality materials in your body.
Additionally, they offered to switch my nose screws for me, which I gladly accepted, since I've never switched mine before. They offer this for free and it was super quick. The woman brought me to the back room, where they do the piercings, disinfected my nose, yanked the screw out, and poked the new one in with ease. Though I could have gone home and done this myself, it did save me some time and effort, since I probably would have spent a good many minutes trying to gently jiggle it out.
I continue to be impressed by this store.

Every Philadelphian and their mother apparently ranks Infinite as the hands down best piercing place… Read more »
Infinite is, as everyone says, the only place in Philly to go for a super clean, non-sketchy piercing. The only problem, of course, is then that everyone and their mom is packed into that shop and the staff is completely overwhelmed.
That said, some of my best piercing experiences have been at Infinite. The counter staff can be a little confused or flaky, but the actual piercers are very friendly and talented. I got my very first facial piercing here years ago and still go back whenever I get the hankering for a new one. Sometimes the jewelry will be ridiculously priced ($22 for one little bead with a stone), but I figure at least I'm not getting hepatitis or a staph infection.

I gave up on piercings years ago and then I got the bug for a tiny nose jewel. Infinite was not only very affordable, but had a great selection of jewelry and was extremely clean. My piercer was super sweet, professional, and so quick I never saw it coming.
After a long Memorial Day weekend, I had lost the ring and the piercing was just about closed. I ran in to infinite in a panic and some very adorable piercer stretched and replaced. Get this: he didn't charge me and I never mentioned that the original piercing was done there. I was so impressed and really appreciated the genuine concern for my piercing. Love them!

Great place awesome workings, price is FINE you are paying for professional and extremely clean work and atmosphere only thing I had a problem with is I waited a while but whatever, it was worth it. GO
This is the most professional piercer on south street. They gave me the sharpie they used on my nipples before they pierced them, showed me the jewelry in sterile packaging before piercing. Clay (I believe) pierced both of mine and one of my friends. He was friendly, and helped us feel relaxed but didn't make any pretenses towards the level of pain it would cause. He also offered that I could have mine done in tandem, which I didn't choose in the end, but was happy to have the option. I have had them for almost a year now and have had no issues of rejection. I plan to go back there for new jewelry within the month. Prices are a little high, but you are paying for the best service around.

Great staff, one of the cleanest shops I've ever seen. Their tools are sterile, my piercer (Hydi) even gave me the sharpie they used to mark up my docs! Everything felt right. I didn't spend too much time in there, but they seemed to have a pretty great selection of jewelry, too.

Got my both of my nipple piercings here (first last year, second last month) and I have to admit that the piercers at Infinite are probably some of the best around.
Clay took my piercing virginity, and he was great- very funny and informative. Surprisingly the actual piercing didn't hurt at all, if anything the clamps were probably the worst part.
The second time around Kellan pierced my other nipple, very professional and used a different method (without clamps) so that was interesting.
There is a giant selection of jewelry, and you'll definitely find something that suits your needs.
Some nights there will be a bit of a wait, but hey- that's what happens when you find a place where people know what they are doing.

I've had an on-again / off-again relationships with nose piercings since I was a senior in high school. The first time I got it done, I was 17, so we'll blame it on being young and silly. I actually had the piercing performed in the parking lot of a Grateful Dead show in Charlotte, NC. That sounds like a smart idea, right? Now I understand why my father got so mad at me that he didn't speak to me for about 3 weeks. Shudder...
The second time I got my nose pierced I was a freshman in college and some girl in my dorm did it for me. Again, not the smartest decision I've ever made. The third time was in a little hole in the wall on St. Mark's Place in NYC (I was livin' the punk rock dream, ha ha) and the fourth was at an actual piercing shop in the East Village, not far from the first apartment I lived in in the big city.
But the fifth time was a charm. I went to Infinite, where I was treated to a lovely experience that literally brought tears to my eyes (trust me - it hurts). The staff was incredibly professional and pleasant, the shop was clean and tidy and the jewelry selection was impressive.
It should come as no surprise that I took that one out, too. I think my love affair with piercing has come to an end, but just in case the idea burrows into my head like some sort of shiny parasite, I'll go back to Infinite for sure.

I have gotten two piercings from here (nose and lip), and this is the most professional yet welcoming establishment I have been to. These folks don't mess around- the place is extremely sanitary and the staff definitely knows their stuff. They will find you the product you are looking for. What will keep me going back is the pride they take in their work. After you are done "being pierced" your piercer will provide you with their card and assure you that if anything goes wrong or if you need a jewelry change or need help getting something removed- that they will do it free of charge.
The prices are little bit stiff compared to what I am used to- but you can't beat the customer service and quality.

Kind of strange that I came here at all, as I was a big advocate for DIY piercing until a few years ago. I got my septum pierced here and was extremely happy with the service.
Sometimes you can tell a lot about someone by a small detail - maybe the shoes they wear, or the keys on their keyring. For Infinite, that detail is their sign. It's the clean design and well chosen font of their branding, I know it's kind of a silly thing to mention - but it's what I first noticed, and it conveys professionalism, quality, and cleanliness..... just compare their sign to the piercing place a few blocks away next to the chop shop, and you'll get a sense of what I'm talking about.
Thankfully, this was not a case of false advertising - Professionalism, quality, cleanliness - Infinite is all of those things (which, of course, come with a hefty price tag.)

I am going to add to yelping love for this place because they were so nice to me, and also, because the counter help was not snotty! Maybe people are really sensitive, or they hired a new girl, but I got no attitude.
The piercer combines the right amount of pretense, idle chat and joking with instruction and knowledge to make you feel perfectly at ease in the face of having your nose skewered with a large needle. In my opinion, you want a little bit of pretension from a piercer. They should be taking themselves seriously; they are altering your face! That being said, this place did not overdo it, which is why they get 5 stars.
The only bummer was that there was a little bit of a wait, but that's not their fault, and it gave me plenty of time to look at all of the unique and beautiful jewelry they have displayed.
I hadn't had a piercing in 10 years and they were so welcoming, I think I will go back soon and get more.

Love this place. Went here to get my tongue pierced oh-so-many moons ago, and when ANYONE asks for a good piercing place, this is where I send them. They're clean, they're friendly, they ask for ID. Gotta love someone who follows the rules. The information booklet they gave me afterwards answered all of my questions for piercing care, and in no time, I was back to my usual self!
Kudos to Infinite, for your cleanliness, your upbeat, friendly personality and all the metal you could possibly want to pierce your body with!

I love Infinite. I have lived around different places, and by far they are the best and most professional I've come across. Infinite did my first piercing (rook) ten years ago and my last piercing (re-pierced nipple) 10 months ago and I lament that I did not go to them for the rest. All the staff there are cool, laid-back and very knowledgeable. If you have questions they take the time to answer them fully and not make you feel like an idiot. I've read some reviews that the prices are too high, but that's what you get when you pay for quality; quality products and quality service. The ONLY reason I don't give them 5 stars is because the wait can be crazy-long, especially on a weekend.
Just agreeing with all the other Yelpers -- this is by far the cleanest, zero sketch factor piercing studio I've ever stepped foot in. Each piercer gets their own room and it's like *medically* clean, almost like walking into a dentist's office (but more fun??)
I've had 2 different piercers here and both took their time, acted professionally, answered all my questions and then some and overall created a nice experience. All the staff I've seen are 'down to earth' like someone else stated.
It gets really busy on weekends with all the walk-ins, but that's another reason this place is so great. If you don't mind a little wait you will still get a professional, clean job done without anyone rushing you.
I live in DC and I would come to Philly (again) to get pierced here. I recommend this place to folks I know. Very glad a piercing studio like Infinite exists.

The people who work here are very nice, funny, and helpful. I was really nervous to get my labret and nose pierced (I'm more of a tattoo kinda gal). But my piercer helped me through it with a smile. The "get 1 piercing done and your 2nd is 1/2 price" is pretty sweet. Especially when the quality of the piercing is very, very good.

I've been to this place a few times over the years, and gotten five piercings from them - really great, really clean, really nice. Went in to get a consultation on a piercing for the back of my neck fairly recently. Waited patiently for the other customers to have a turn, then spoke to a girl behind the counter and told her I had some questions. She was so rude and dismissive to us that the friend I was with told me we should leave. We walked out, and haven't been back.
Very professional, very clean. If you plan on getting something pierced, come here and all those worries you stayed up the night before over (like hepatitis) will go out the window when you walk through the door.
The lack of the final star is due to the incredibly long wait on any given night. It is pricey, but you're paying for safety and professionalism! worth it.

I used to work at infinite and I can tell you that the employees pride themselves as much on education as giving you a great piercing. My first 2 weeks were spent studying aftercare guides and doing research. After two years of working the counter there, I knew about woods, stones, metals, infections, autoclaves and sterility, blood born pathogens, body reactions, healing times, what to do and what not to do.
I think it is important for the people who read the reviews about Infinite to bear in mind that this shop IS the busiest shop in the city. While the counter-people may sometimes come off as standoffish, or cocky, it is never their intention to make people feel uncomfortable. It is easy to get overwhelmed juggling customer service and making sure someone gets the proper jewelry for their body. Infinite is one of the shops that takes pride in saying, "No." to the client if they fell that 1) it is a very impractical healing phase (if they ever heal) and 2) if a person's body is just not suited to accommodate a particular piercing. navels are the most frequently turned away.
Basically the sum of these parts is that Infinite is the most respectable and clean piercing shop in the city. all their piercers are APP certified and their owner is currently a member of the APP board. They have probably the largest jewelry selection in the tri-state area. You get what you pay for with piercings and that explains why Infinite may have slightly higher prices, because you know you will leave with a great piercing.

Like any body modification shop, the people that work there are hit or miss. For better or for worse, Infinite has both of those worlds. Don't get me wrong, I think it really is the best place to get pierced in Philly but some of the staff can be a bit abrasive.
For instance, a few months ago my friend and I went to get pierced; she wanted a lower lip piercing, me a septum piercing. Our piercer's name was Jen, I believe, and she was slightly rude to my friend. Whenever she would ask a question, Jen would answer in way that made it seem like EVERYONE should know the answer and you're dumb for not. Conversely, she was nice to me and I ended up with a great septum piercing.
They are very helpful in terms of changing jewelry and re-piercing if something falls out. My septum piercing fell out during a drunken vacation moment and I was told that if it didn't have to be re-pierced then I would only have to pay for the jewelry, which is nice.
It's extremely clean there and they sterilize everything/open all the needle packages in front of you. I recommend it highly, just be wary that sometimes you may get stuck with someone who has a holier-than-thou attitude

The best place to get pierced in Philly by my book. all the piercers are friendly and very informative. they really know how to make you feel comfortable, and are quick to recognize you when you come back in. it also has some guest piercers every once in awhile.
It generally doesn't take very long to wait, even on the weekends. but they have an old school arcade game set up in case it does take awhile or you go in with friends. Infinite also has the best selection of jewelry to choose from.
If you plan on getting a few piercings in the next few months, then I recommend seeing if they still offer frequent piercings cards.

Seriously, there is no reason to get pierced anywhere else in all of Philadelphia. This place is VERY clean (so much so that they let you keep the Sharpie that they use to mark the area they're going to pierce). The piercers are VERY professional and well trained, not to mention incredibly nice. They always ask all about you, show real interest in who you are, and so on. The selection of jewelry is GREAT. Their prices are average for a piercing shop. Well, expensive if you get pierced by a gun in a mall... but you REALLY shouldn't do that for many reasons.
Seriously, I've been pierced in a few different places (both geocraphically and on my body), and I no longer see any reason to go anywhere other than here. I would intentionally wait to get a piercing in order to go here instead of anywhere else. it's just the best!

Superior quality products! When I first visited Philadelphia 10 years ago, I got my ears stretched here to an 8gauge and purchased teak ear plugs. I have worn those wooden plugs for a long time, and on Friday night I broke down and purchased a pair of rosewood plugs! The woman who waited on me was great! We talked about bone, jade, and bamboo plugs. She even tried to convince me to go up a gauge... Which it been 8 years ago, I totally would have done it! But I'm content with my gauge, and also very happy with the quality and professionalism of this store! If you're in need of new piercings, replacement jewelry, or very unique plugs... Totally check them out! They rock!!

My friend & I went to get our nostrils pierced about a month ago. Clay was our piercer. He explained everything about the piercing & healing process while making sure we were both comfortable. The piercing was quick and relatively painless. I bought the recommended cleaning product, took Clay's advice to heart & am very happy with my piercing.
I recommend Infinite very highly.

Hey, seriously. I won't go anywhere else. (Ok, except No Ka Oi a few years ago when I got my septum pierced and they were nice too). But I went to Kevin @ Infinite to get it pushed through again when it "closed up."
Kevin's done all my other piercings and I think he is just fantastic. Everyone there is really laidback, knows what they're talking about, and having fun with what they do. They're all also very informative about the piercings- what to expect, how things can differ in each individual's body, etc. They're sweet about changing jewelry for you if you're going up a size, or just not sure how to maneuver it. A+++
It is the place I would recommend anyone to go to.

I am into my 7th year with my TONGUE piercing. Sorry, I can't give you recommendations on my piercer, as it was oh-so-long-ago, and I know they are all GREAT.
This was my first piercing - outside of the traditional earring piercings - so I was super nervous. My friend, who had his tongue done here years before, brought me to the place on a quiet Monday.
The process of the actual piercing was explained, as well as a comprehensive examination of my tongue (YES, they will turn you down if it's too dangerous - and will advise you if your body will REJECT the piercing), prior to picking out jewelry. They were great with helping me determine the best size (I went BIG - 10) and type. I then signed consent/waiver forms and then proceeded to revel in the last thorough tongue brushing and mouthwash rinse I know I'd have in many days.
I was ushered into a private piercing room, that was beyond STERILE, which had an antiquated barber shop or dentist chair in the middle. My piercer explained the process and my active participation again. I sat forward and ...
Long story short, my friend said it SOUNDED like a NAIL GOING THROUGH A RICE CRISPY TREAT. In case you were ever curious.
After care instructions were explained and provided in a neat tri-fold pamphlet and I was on my way. The requisite tongue swelling and lispy speech followed. The even more requisite ice chips and Ibuprofen helped, and allowed me to eat pizza that evening, and Chinese food (including those little granules of rice) the following night.

I got my septum pierced here about a year and a half ago and I couldn't be more pleased. I came in without an appointment on a Friday night right after work and they took me right away.
My piercer was this guy named Kevin Jump and he took his time explaining the process and making sure I was comfortable. He told me that my eyes might start welling when the puncture is made and sure enough, old lefty started to trickle. He wiped the tear away and we bullshitted for a bit. He was patient while he helped me flip up and flip down the retainer. Then I went out to pay and started talking smack with the guy behind the register.
I came back a few months later to get a curved barbell and old Kevbo was there again. He offered to put the jewelry in and I obliged and tossed him a few bucks. He then asked me if he could take a picture of my face for his portfolio and it was a nice day, so we went out the front door. This drunk old man came wobbling down the street and he said "Take a picture of me before she breaks your lens!" And I thought I looked good that day :(
I recommend this place for your first or any piercing. However, I don't recommend taking a swig out of any bums hooch. That shit's nasty!

I am so surprised to hear that everyone loves this place. I come here for my jewelry, because well, let's be real, they have the best selection around, especially for plugs. But other then that, I have always found the people working to be pretentious, abrasive, shit bags. Almost as though they look down on me for not having 30 different holes in my body, the majority clustered upon my head. Is 14 not enough?
I don't intimidate easily, but I find my ventures in here to always end in that feeling. With that said, I find comfort in piercing my body at Warrior which is just up the street and far cheaper. The people in Warrior are just as clean, just as explanatory, and so much kinder to the out of city traveler looking for some city edge.

Obviously the place is clean. I think that should be assumed. The best part about Infinity is not its cleanliness but its friendliness. I've been here several times, once for a piercing, once for a friend's piercing, and just to shop for some new jewelry.
Each time, the piercers were super friendly and super knowledgeable. Regardless of whether you're a seasoned pincushion, or just trying something new, the entire staff makes you feel comfortable with your decision.
The prices of the actual piercings are average (but worth it), but you can find cheaper jewelry other places. Personally, I'll never go anywhere else for a piercing, and I'd recommend it to everyone, except my worse enemy (because i'm mean, like that).
EDIT- I went back for new jewelry, the other day. I would like to say that the piercers are all fantastic but going back reminded me that the people behind the counter are a little snotty. Shame.

Infinite is the best place for piercings, period. The only issues I've ever had with Infinite are, of course, the counter people. The first time I went there to change my septum jewelry, they were very rude. I waited for quite some time just trying to get assistance, but they were too busy conversing to listen to me. After that, I stuck to ordering jewelry from Tribalectic and BodyArtforms online.
But! They must be getting better. I went in for a less dangly piece of jewelry for my newly stretched lobes because I exercise fairly regularly and couldn't wait the week out for delivery from my usual places. I was well prepared and loathing having to put up with rudeness and holier than thou attitude to find something that is only 14 gauge for my ears. But the counter person explained my options, promptly assisted me, and didn't get tied up in conversation with his friends this time. Maybe they're learning!

I have no holes in my body that the good lord didn't bless me with originally. However, I've been "that dude" on numerous occassions, who waits, crosses the street to go look at records, comes back, waits some more.
Infinite is always the place. After numerous "associates" going there, I've never once seen any of those Stephanie Tanner piercings gone wrong. This place knows what they're doing.
