I joined some friends who are members on Sunday and we played the Babe course. They just finished the the over seeding of the course and it was cart path only. We teed off time at 10:30 am and the weather was perfect.

The course was in the best shape I've seen and the greens were rolling true. It was a longer round then usual bc of the cart path only rule but I played my best round here ever here! Check out the beautiful weather and shape of the course: http://www.yelp.com/bi...

We finished the round of golf out on the patio of the Red Restaurant & Bar with Mojitos, cold beers and fried calamari. A perfect way to end a great day.

Just played a tournament here and I have to say it was a real treat. The course was in decent condition despite the wind storm that just hit the course. I must say that if you're a weekend hacker like me, bring a couple dozen balls. It's too easy to lose a ball here. Other than that I had a lot of fun playing here. You can definitely tell the difference between a top notch course like industry hills and a muni.

Stay away from the pro shop cause it's over priced and expect to pay through the nose for food at the snack hut.

The golf range is excellent yet pricey.

All in all, if you're in LA, try to play here once a year to keep yourself honest. It worked for me when I shot 10 over.

Horrible customer service.  Called and left a message for Natalie regarding usage of a refrigerator and asked for a call back when she got an answer. Didn't get a call back. Then, I called the next day and spoke to Stephanie, the manager, regarding usage of a refrigerator and they said they charge a $35 fee which is 1) the most expensive fee that I ever witnessed for borrowing a refrigerator 2) we are having an event there and have had many events there and they didn't seem to care or budge. They have some of the most expensive fees for a number of things.

This upcoming event that I have tomorrow and another friend's wedding in January 2012 will be the last time I go there or hold an event due to my experience with their customer service. I am very disappointed because I actually love the venue and have stayed there numerous times and have enjoyed the renovations and the restaurant Red.

THUMBS DOWN FOR HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! It also took like 4 phone calls back to back before anyone picked up the phone there. What kind of business is that?

I've been a frequent attendee of Pacific Palms for a good 5-7 years with my father and brother whom play golf on a regular basis.

However, i've never been on the course before but the driving range is pretty nice. Two stories with a putting green on the side, the atmosphere is relaxing and peaceful. This is a great place to bring your family to just stroke around.

The pricing for a basket of golf balls exceeds the prices of other places i've been to, yet it is still decent.

I would like to give it 3 stars but 3 stars is technically "A-ok" by Yelp's definition. So let's go with 2 1/2. I'm puzzled by all the rave reviews. This is nothing but an overpriced muni. While staff and pro shop are nice (overpriced though), the course (Babe) leaves much to be desired. Tee boxes are in sort of okay condition, many not level though, fairways (many dry and bare spots throughout) and rough (combo of clumped grass, hard dirt, or mud) are no better than a bad muni, not a good muni like Alhambra or Harding. Typical let's run a golf course through these mountains layout. Ridiculous single huge pine trees in stupid spots approaching greens made even a mid fairway 120 yard approach difficult. Pin placements at times were no more than 4 feet from edge of giant greens. Cart path too far from
Greens. It goes on and on for me. Hey, you may like it as seems like many others before me don't share my opinion, but I couldnt wait to finish and get out of there.
One plus.. On what I like to call Maintenance Mondays, we rarely saw the group ahead or behind us and the guy at the pro shop let us go out early. Like I said, nice staff, just hated the course. And I'm not b$&%#*€g cuz I played bad. I actually scored well.

Played the Ike through one of the Mega Monday deals and paid $55.00 including a cart - a cart with NO GPS.  I can't figure out how a course like this can charge $100+ on the weekends, host close to 200+ tournaments a year but, can't afford to update the carts!

The course is in good to a little better than good condition.  The greens were punched a little while ago but, they haven't healed 100% IMO.  Some of the greens were a little bumpy and sandy.  I have played this course before and the greens were like glass.  The fairways were cut at a nice overall height but, there were a few brown spots and surprisingly, a lot of divots that weren't fixed about 100-yards to the pin.

The rough was nice but, you can easily lose your ball on the fairway because the undulation on some holes and the slopes on the side of the fairways can take your ball and hide it pretty well - even if you think you hit it straight!  The bunkers had sand that was a little too soft - if that's possible.

The old adage, "you get what you pay for ..." applied to this Mega Monday deal on the Ike.  I have played this same track in just under 3-1/2 hours and this time, it took a hair over 5-hours.  WTH?  We only saw the beverage cart person 1X the entire round.  Customer service was good as usual.

Overall experience?  Good.  I like this course.  It is definitely challenging with plenty of distance and risk-reward type shots.

The only complaint is the pace of play by other foursomes that think they own the course.  It shouldn't take a person 10-minutes to look for a ball before deciding to take a drop.  Even more so if you lose a second of third ball on the same hole!  Some people can make it easier on other groups if they would just offer to wave a group ahead of them.

One of my favorite driving ranges in the area.  Use to be only 3 dollars for a bucket of balls.  Then it jumped to 5, then 7.  Haven't gotten the chance to go back, but this is always a nice night lite range.  2nd floor with a little fountain in the middle.  The lights keep this place lit up really well and easy to track the distance of your ball.

I have yet to play at this course been wanting to but haven't gotten the chance to.

Same deal with my friend's uncle....only $10 more to play the Ike.  It's a beautiful course with great scenery.  Super tough layout from the blues and I was humbled after I tried to give my buddy lessons on the 6th hole when I was 3 over after 5 (pretty good for me at a course with that slope rating) cause as everyone knows, you definitely have the course figured out after 5 holes!!  Yes, I'm an idiot.

Even though I've played some of my worst rounds at this place, I think I might be a glutton for punishment cause I can't wait to go back.  It'll probably be a couple weeks before I try again 'cause the discounted rate is still pretty steep.  Next time, I hope to get my money's worth by having one of the best rounds of my life.  Then again, I said that about this past round.  Either way, I'm in.

First off, I feel a little guilty reviewing this as a member, but on the other hand I don't.  I wouldn't have joined if I didn't love it and maybe I can tell you some things that other reviews don't.

The two golf courses are both spectacular.  The Babe is about average distance, but has tight fairways in some places and for me, the water and ravines are more dangerous.  The Ike is more forgiving, but longer.  I would say that the Babe is more like a resort course, with more water and natural scenic beauty, and the Ike is more of a players course.  You come to the Ike to score decently, or to take some big risks and have a great round (You will have a decision to make on the 2nd tee box if you are a driving machine).

The practice facilities are also nice.  I prefer hitting off grass, which they do not have, but they do have 2 decks, nice mats and you usually have no problems finding the little rubber tees.  There are many targets.  Pay attention to where your ball lands, since underneath the fake grass there must be concrete that gives the balls a terrific bounce.

If you want to chip or putt, the recent renovations have put the good areas for this up by St. Andrews Cafe.  You have to walk up past the tees of Ike and Babe, and past the pool.  There you will find a nice putting green next to the old Funicular (or whatever they call those trolleys that carry golf carts up hills).  Walk further up past St. Andrews and just past the wedding pavillion area and you will find two greens that are perfect for chipping.  They are undulating greens with plenty of ups and downs surrounding them too, so I can practice here for hours.

Speaking of the wedding area, this hotel is really nice for weddings.  My buddy got married here on that outdoor area that looks through the trees at the mountains, and the reception inside one of the ballrooms was first class.  This was a few years back, but with the remodel recently, everything just got better.

If you are a higher handicapper, suck it up and play the white tees.  You will have more fun if you have a chance at bogey, and you won't from the blues.  For fun though, if it isn't busy try and check out where the black tees are.  Some are in amazing locations.  You know they used to have a PGA event here, but the players didn't think it was fair.  The remodel that finished in 2007 did make this course more player-friendly though, as they cut some of the shrubbery back to allow errant tee shots to be found, and some trees were cut back or removed.

You still need to be ready for a tough round.  Trust me.

If it weren't so far from me, I'd be working on my awkward form and embarassing swing all the time here. Then maybe I could be the next Se Ri Pak. Haha, okay not really.

The $5 buckets are a steal (even though they used to be $3), and the double deck is key. My balls seem to go out further when I'm on the higher level so I get a nice little confidence boost. The view is  pretty and relaxing, with a faux lake, palm trees, and artificial turf. The best view though, are the hot boys who really know how to use their stick...errrr I mean clubs.

Played this the Ike with my father and brother a few weeks back. The course conditions were only ok and some of the fairway was in repair. We were stuck behind 2 golfers who were unable to hit and kept teeing it up again even though there were 2 groups waiting behind them. We called the marshal three times and nothing was done. Same response "we will send someone down..." It ended up being a 5+ hour round.
I have always loved this course because of its challenging layout and greens. My father came for vacation here and he was not impressed and I was disappointed at the service that was given. Needless to say that my father does not want to come back.

    Cool FYI for all you Entourage Fans;

if you're watching Entourage Season six right now, you'll notice that on episode four or five (forgot), Sloan is hosting a charity golf drive which attracts a lot of celebrities and producers.

I'm watching and go "hey, this place looks familiar" as I look at the driving range where Vince, Turtle, E, and Drama are practicing before the big game.....and up rolls, of course, Mark Wahlberg along with his friend Tom Brady...shaking hands and talking on the middle section of the Pacific Palms driving range!! That's my preferred spot when I'm there.

Anyways, I thought it was really cool to see Entourage film a complete episode over there. Check out that episode, if you live around here. You'll be wowed. The affirmation comes along when E goes up to Sloan in a golf cart with the reversing P logo in the front.

I played the Babe course and can honestly say it was one of the best courses I've ever played.  I loved the layout, the landscaping, and the views of this course.  Some folks don't like Industry Hills for whatever reason, but I was frequently finding myself in amazement of the beauty of this course.  Impressive course for the 909.

The views of Mt. Baldy are awesome from many holes on the course.  I would love to play this place in the winter on a clear day after a storm has dumped fresh snow on the mountains (as you can see in some of the photos online).

The hotel/pro shop/lounge etc did not look like something out of the 909, but rather something out of Newport Beach.  Very swank, clean lines makes this place a very cool place to go and just hang out and get a drink.

Definitely recommended for a high end golfing outing in the 909.

This semi-private course is located on the Eastside of Los Angeles off the 10 and the 605.  There are two full 18 courses, the Babe and the Ike.  Both are challenging, and are rated among the best courses in all of California.  Because it's built into the hills of Industry Hills, there are nice elevation changes on both courses.  This makes for scenic views and more interesting golf.
The golf resort is part of Pacific Palms Resort, so it's a nice setting for charities and fundraisers to hold their golf tournaments here.  Huge banquet rooms, great staff, and ample grounds make this a great venue.  I'm not crazy about the location, being from the Valley and the Westside.  It's quite a haul to get here.

Greens - undulating and challenging - great shape
Fairways - great shape - errant drives will result in lost balls
Driving Range - fair - nothing to write home about
Hotel - 4 star service and food

In my opinion one of the best driving ranges around.  It's well maintained with nice scenery and nice targets to aim at with simulated greens at difference distances.

At $5 a bucket, it's hard to beat but at that price it can also get very crowded at peak times like after 7pm.

I find that one of the best stress relievers around is to just hit some balls for fun....golf balls that is. I still remember when my dad first let me use his driver as a kid and taught me how to hit these suckers...of course, back then I missed more than swings and when I did hit the ball, it would go a good 5 yards from me...but the feeling of it was just as exciting now as it was back then...

I would watch my dad take his swings and study his form, but I would always do it my way or as he calls it my "baseball swing".. but whatever works right? Now I can drive that ball a good 200 to 250 yards with no sweat. Accuracy? Now that's something I'm still working on...but I love using the ball collecting carts as targets as they drove around the range collecting balls. Or for more accuracy, I would try to land my shots close to the flags that are set up a few yards away..and try to avoid landing my shots in the small man made lake next to the green..

I still come here from time to time with my dad, or my brothers and hit a couple of buckets full ($5 a bucket of about 80 or so range balls...not too bad). They have a lower level and an upper level section. I prefer the lower level since it's more accurate to actual play, but the upper level is cool if I just wanna launch my shots since I can easily spot how far it goes from up there. The range is well maintained, as well as the putting green. The place is usually full in the early evenings with both pros and wannabe Tiger Woods...

Hmmm which reminds me, the weather is getting warmer...I think it's time to dust off the golf clubs once again.

    For the 'Babe' Course:

What a beautiful course and in excellent shape. Great layout and very very green. Very minor flaws, but these appear to be caused by players, such as ball marks on the greens and divots at the tee boxes. Played at 12:50 pm with an online discount and finished at 4:50 pm, still enough light to hit 2 more holes close by. Each cart comes with 2 water bottles in mini coolers. Golf pencils have erasers, cart girl waves, etc. They have all the little details that make this place amazing. This course is in great condition, definately a place to go play, just remember to hit straight, some fairways are narrow with tall trees.

    For the 'Ike'

Played 12/19 at 12:50. Some damp areas still here and there from the rain, but this course is in amazing shape. Greens were fast and picture perfect. Sand is nice and full. A few big divots here and there on tee boxes and fairways, but fairways were beautiful Good challenging course, of where I posted one of my highest scores. A few holes with some good character. Customer service was great, with the complimentary water bottle. Cute cart girl visited a few times, nice to see the flirtatiousness. Pace was decent. Took the cheap route, with the 12:50 http://click4teetimes.com approach for under 40 bucks with a cart, finished the last hole in the dark, but finished. Had a great and challenging time. These courses are in great great condition, if you are on the fence, just go for it and enjoy.

This review is for the driving range only. I've never had the honor of playing on this course. It's been a looong week! Full of nothing but idiots! After work, I like coming here to "enjoy the silence". Haha. Laaame. The driving range is located right in front of the hotel. There's plenty of parking. I usually toke it up in the parking lot before I begin. Niiiice. A large bucket with 100 balls is $7. Don't use the Coke machines here! Unless you wanna get ripped off! Not much I can say about the range itself. It's clean and quiet...most of the time. They've drained the pond though. WTF? If you're looking for a cheap way to blow off some steam after work, this is it. Keep it quiet though! Or else I'm gonna have to smash your head in with a golf club! Yeah so that's it. Kind of a lame review but whatcha gonna do about it huh!?! Haha!

I shot about 10 strokes above my average and I'm still giving this place four stars. Went out with some coworkers at 11:30 on a Tuesday afternoon about 3 weeks ago. What an amazing experience. Nobody behind or in front of us. Felt like we were in a virtual golf world. Almost the perfect round.

The Babe course was it's usual tough self, but the conditions were amazing. The grooming was top notch and everything else from pace to pin placement was perfect. I stopped several times to just take in the scenery and peacefulness. It's just amazing that this hidden gem is in the middle of the ghetto (sorry to all that live nearby), and strip joint row.

I would've given it five stars had it not been for those soap sud looking things they were putting on the fairway of several holes. No idea what that stuff is, and I'm sure it helps the grass, but come-on..., dye that stuff pink or something so it doesn't get confused for a ball.

This tomato can course is beautiful but will knock you out. If you're a 14+ play the white tees and bring balls.

The bad: The price $135 (Ike) and $120 (Babe) for weekends.

The good: Majestic views of the snow capped San Gabriel Mountain range and a great 19th hole.

This is a review of the Ike Course.  Brutally long and tough, it plays fair.  The greens are fast and true and the bunkers are in great shape.  The fairways and tees could use some refurbishing, which is a bummer for a course that was recently overhauled.  If they conditions were better this would easily be the best course in LA.

The overall experience that I received at the hotel is okay.  Although, the prices are really high due to the Ladies Professional Golf Association, I believe that it is not worth it and the Hotel is not all that great for the prices they are putting up.  Also we were looking to have our wedding at this location and it was way to expensive.  The surrounding area is also very ugly and not very appealing to the eye.

I got to play on the Babe course, and I must say it is a very nice course.  It is well maintained, lush fairways and greens.  This course has several holes that are narrow and tight, so you have to make sure you keep the ball on the fairway or else you are going to be OB.  They have some nice amenities like water coolers attached to the cart with some bottles of water in it.  I would give this place 5 stars but it just costs way too much for me to be able to play here consistently.  75+ dollars for a round of golf on the weekday is a tad steep for me, and it isn't a premier golf course.  But that is probably how they are able to keep it in great condition.

I forgot how much fun it is to go the driving range.  Release stress!  Hitting the ball to the fence is very gratifying.  Must go again today.Only $5 a bucket.

    Ike:

I played this course first, like other reviews, its a players course.  Its more flat and wider in spots, which helps me cause i'm still hitting the occasional slice.   My favorite parts of this course are several tee boxes have some real nifty elevations.  Its quite fun ripping a drive and seeing it fly out into the sky a couple hundred of feet above the fairway.   I did lose several balls as sometimes its hard to see where it lands.  But that's all on me, if I hit the drive straight, sure you can't see it land, but its an enjoyable present to drive the cart down and see it sitting nicely in the middle of the fairway, maybe even further then you'd expect it!

    Babe:
I played this last Saturday, and have to say its one of the top course I've ever played.   its a links course, which i really enjoy, with a few water hazards and lots of bunkers.  the surrounding trees and landscaping makes this feel like you're at a resort and not in the middle of the city of industry.   you can even see mt. baldy out here.   i had one of my better rounds yet - only lost 6 balls (a record!), and had a legitimate par on the first tee (meaning i didn't mulligan, didn't call a gimmie, and didn't cheat).

The rest of the hotel is as others describe it.   Both restaurants are very fancy, with outside seating for Red (and some great sweet potato fries), and a very large sunday buffet.   I've stayed at the hotel several times, and their pool is one of my favorite spots, as it has a great view to the north, and the pool itself is deep! (i'm tired of pools that are only 4 feet deep, this pool you can dive to the bottom off!).

and finally the other amenities are the great service from the valets to the starter to the cart girl to the managing staff that always seem to be around the course or the pro shop giving advice and just being fun.

while some people may balk at the tee rates, consider that you still pay about half this rate at a public course, yet are stuck in a 5-some, taking nearly 7 hours to finish a round, and have junky carts, inattentive (or rude) staff, and muddy fairways.   these courses are worth it!!

At $3 a bucket its the best deal around.  The place is pretty nice and well kept.  Its a double decker and can get crowded.  The range is all turf with no real grass, but at least it looks better than dead grass.

Simply awesome! Very nice course. I played 18 on the "Ike" course. Well maintained and generous but challenging. I really enjoyed the round and will def go back. Maybe try the "Babe" next time. There are two 18 hole courses there.

This review is only for the driving range... all I gotta say is $3.00 bucks for 85 balls... no bucket sizes, one size fits all! The balls are pretty beat up but what do you expect for 3 bucks? The only draw back that its a short range, only goes up to 235 yards... but then again unless you're tiger woods that should be plenty of room to practice.

These courses have moved to the top of the rotation. Excellent condition, friendly service, GREAT layout. Prefer these two to any course in the OC. Worth the drive.

I came here every single day for 2 weeks for golf and this place is awesome.  Nice golf course and the driving range was recently renovated.  Spent quite a bit of money here, however it was the most relaxing two weeks i had in a while.

i've only been to two or three driving ranges, but i think this was the best one i've been to. i love how there's two levels (i always enjoy the upper level) and the balls are a pretty good price. as jonji mentioned, it does get pretty crowded in the evening. i always went with a few people and we shared little hitting the area thing (idk what it's called :P) i think i also recall a sitting area for those who are just chillin.

I shot a 125 here.  This isn't even including the number of extra strokes it would have taken if I didn't pick up my ball, 5 feet from the hole, in frustration.  I vow to one day conquer this course.  Double digit scorecard are bust!
