We work right up the street and have tried this place 2x, both times have made us had super long lunch times. The food has always been great unfortunately the wait for the food will either have you starving or dehydrated.

Where to begin? We stopped in tonight to get some soup, or at least some comfort food with the weather. As we walked in the door, we were greeted by a live band playing at high volume. This was at about 8:00, still dinner time - music is great, but people having a meal tend to like being able to talk to their companions.
We probably should have left right then, but remembering our previous good experience here, we thought we'd give it another go.
Angela was the greeter and our server. She tried very hard to give us a good experience. She and one other server were covering the entire restaurant, so service was slow.
Most of the patrons seemed to be there in support of the band. They were in to their music. We just couldn't join their enthusiasm. Loud doesn't equate with good. The sound balance was so poor, that the lead singer was just about swallowing the mic, which made his words garbled. There was no subtlety; just noise. I appreciate music of many kinds. I'm not a music snob by any means. This just wasn't enjoyable to listen to; especially at the decibel level.
It made it painful to sit and wait for our food, which took a really long time to come out of the kitchen. I ordered their bowl of tomato soup. It was made from scratch and was an odd combo of a very hot bowl, and not very hot contents. The taste was good, but the oversized bowl made it challenging to eat. They didn't have an option for a sandwich like grilled cheese to go with the soup. That would have been welcome.
I also had a few bites of Dear Hubby's burger with avocado and havarti cheese. It was a tasty combo, but the avocado wasn't slices, it was smashed up like guacamole. Wasn't described that way on the menu. The skin-on fries that came with the burger were a complete failure. The ones that came on the tray were lukewarm and stale, not hot and crisp.
When the server stopped by to check on our food, we let her know the fries weren't up to snuff. She apologized and went back to get a fresh batch. Unfortunately, something was badly amiss in the kitchen. Then new offering was the worst fried potato I may have ever had - hot they were, but also extremely oily. They were saturated in oil, so the temperature for cooking had been off. The overpowering oil taste was made worse by an aftertaste that suggested stale oil. I had a couple and pushed them away. They were inedible.
Angela provided good service, given how busy she was during our visit. Pretty much everything else was mediocre to downright unenjoyable. Sticky floors, dirty tables, a front door that wouldn't shut on its own, so the cold night air was coming in until someone would go and manually close it. The menu has been pared down from our first visit. Very little is that interesting any longer.
I don't wish them ill at all, but the dining experience they offered up tonight was painfully sub-par.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Feb 6, 2016Previous reviewWe were headed for another place last night to meet a dear friend for dinner. As we waited at the light at Agoura Road & Lost Hills, we saw lights on over the patio at the former Wolf Creek Restaurant & Brewery. "What's this?", we wondered. After checking it out, we discovered a new dining spot had taken over one of our previous favorite haunts. Okay! We texted our friend about the change of venue so she could join us there.
Gave it a try and asked to be out on the patio, though it was getting colder. The patio area is virtually unchanged since the Wolf Creek days, which works for us! The big central fire pit was ablaze, and heat lamps completed taking the chill out of the air. Our Adored Grandson started to protest, but when the heater went on, he was happy again.
Even more so when the chicken tacos arrived. Our server advised they were spicy, offering the sauce on the side. Perfect! Ditto with fish tacos. I'd recommend asking which dishes are spicy and whether sauce on the side is an option. The grilled corn was actually a bit spicy, which was surprising.
Their happy hour menu goes from 4 to 7, with many interesting and fun choices from which to tempt those taste buds.
We sampled the fish tacos, grilled corn, chicken quesadilla, and mac & cheese balls. Among the four of us we tried two of the chocolaty desserts. Molten chocolate cake must be ordered 15 minutes ahead of serving. It was rich, but not too sweet. Was garnished with several types of berries.
I don't remember what the other dessert was called, but it was a dense frozen mousse concoction in a chocolate shell served with fresh blackberries and raspberries. Amazing! My buddy was gracious enough to share several tastes. Quite rich, but sublimely delicious.
Service was quite good, from the friendly greeting at the front entrance, to our server at the table, and the busser who got us situated with the heater.
Unlike Wolf Creek, they don't offer yummy bread with olive tapenade. No bread at all. - Jun 8, 2016
Great, great, great service. Came here on a Sunday afternoon it was pretty mellow. The guys working here were friendly and provided great service. We ordered a lot of their happy hour items. The food was good but wasn't the greatest it is happy hour food so don't expect it to be over the top. We had the nachos, the spinach artichoke toast, guacamole, corn, sliders, etc. They got tvs and an outdoor area with a big old fire pit. The restrooms were clean and the bar area is pretty cool.
All in all a good sports bar to come and chill out and have a brewsky or two.
Food was average but service bumps them up to a 4.Helpful 56Thanks 0Love this 56Oh no 0 - Dec 31, 2015
My SIL had a Groupon to this place and we decided to try it for dinner! It looks relatively new, and I heard the word 'gastropub' describing it, it was nothing like what I expected! Industry Bar is located in a small plaza that's not really well-lit. However, the interior of the restaurant was well-designed and had a very trendy feel to it. Happy hour was from 5-7 (I think?). Unlike most Groupon dinners I've had, they were happy to apply the Happy Hour prices for the appetizers we got off the menu! They also let us use the free Yelp checkin for a free order of BBQ wings with a purchase of a beer.
We ended up ordering:
-Short-rib poutine: meh, was underwhelming but not bad
-Fried bacon mac n cheese balls: bomb, and I don't even like bacon (I know, I'm not human)
-Grilled corn: pretty good, well-seasoned
-Spicy BBQ wings: yummy, not very spicy
-Jalapeno burger: beef well-cooked to a medium, jalapenos had heat, but not amazing
-Surf n Turf burger: beautiful presentation and favorite dish of the night, and probably the BEST burger I've ever had, had huge chunks of dressed lobster on top of a perfectly-cooked medium beef patty with all the fixings
Phenomenal service, everyone was so nice! I'm guessing it's new, and everyone was willing to help out. They forgot to take our wings off the bill, but it didn't really matter considering we were around the value of the Groupon. Really impressed with this place!Helpful 12Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0 - Apr 4, 2017
For a quick second this was a good lunch spot since it's close to the office...but then hey stopped serving lunch. I suppose it's still ok for a drink or 2 after work, but it's nothing special so I'd rather stop on my way home at a place that's a little more happening.
Bring back lunch, Industry!!!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - 98355216Jan 3, 2017
I really want this place to be really good. We went a few times when they opened and were really underwhelmed and disappointed with the food, service and prices. We tried it again recently, and it seems like they've made some improvements, so they've ticked up a star from my initial thoughts...
They're very inconsistent with their hours - often closing early, not being open for lunch, etc. Once, my husband called them to confirm if they were open before walking (20 minutes) over, and by the time he got there at around 8pm, they'd closed, though their hours said they were open till 9pm. Very strange. Though it was a weekday when we recently went in, they were dead - only 3 other patrons at the bar with us and an otherwise empty restaurant...
Their beer selection is pretty good, and it seems like they have a new(-ish) bartender who is very dedicated and good at his job. They also have some good whiskeys and wines that we'll go back and check out.
Their menu seems to change every so often, but still doesn't quite hit the mark... But I recently had some tomato soup and my husband had a couple beers and some mac n cheese balls that were very good. We were at the tail end of happy hour but they honored it anyway, which was really nice. The thing is, they're kind of inconsistent there, too - when my husband finished his mac n cheese, the bartender said the chef asked how he liked them, because he'd tried beer batter with them this time. They were great - but if that's not how we're going to get them the next time we order them, that's not amazing!
I also wish they had some more easily shared/snacky things (I really miss Wolf Creek's grilled artichoke), I wish they did some sort of brunch on the weekends (the area severely lacks in breakfast options), and I wish they were more consistent. But given the improvement we saw on our last visit, we'll go by again.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 30, 2016
What a disappointing experience. The Good Nite Hotel where we are staying gave us a coupon the 29th of December at 7PM for 40% off of all beer and burgers at this place. The coupon says "Counter Service Only" which might lead one to believe they want you to sit at the counter for some reason. Maybe to save on wait staff labor?
Sounds too good to be true but I am getting happy. On Line the prices look a bit high with $7 pints of beer but with this coupon I am excited to go there. It was hard to find this tucked away place but we were persistent and excitedly entered.
There was a single customer nursing a beer when we walked in. The place looked like it could use a visit from a broom.
Anyway when you get in the door they tell you counter service means you order at the cash register and then sit at the bar to eat. When you get your order you can dine in or take out.
The printed menu is dingy and the lighting is dim and we are supposed to stand there at the cash register and figure out what three first time customers want to order?
I ask that since the establishment is empty would it be ok if we sit at a table. We are told we can sit at a table and receive full wait service but only receive a 15% discount.
Now my wife begins getting anxious. We just drove 7 hours from SF and we are hungry. I am wanting to down a few pints as well. My wife says she feels as if we are begging for the establishment to honor the coupon. They are trying to renegotiate a coupons promise that we just drove a long way through traffic to have honored.
We leave and eat at the Chipotle next door. Good food and great service there.
Industry was not too good to be true. It was good at being untrue. Don't go for the bait.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - J F.Camarillo, CA2912Dec 30, 2016
They recently stopped opening for lunch. When they were open for lunch, the menu was very, very limited, and service was very slow. Unfortunate since there are not too many people there, you would think the arrival of a customer would wake the place up.
I have been there for lunch and dinner. The food is always ok, and some of the appetizers are quite good.
I uploaded a couple of pics as well. On the glass door, they have a sign stating they are no longer open for lunch. Right in front of that is a big sign that says "Now Open for Lunch..." Wonder why this place is struggling?Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - David G.Los Angeles, CA0201Aug 7, 2016Updated review
Came back to checkout the new menu after the chef they had left, and let me tell you... what a disappointment. Had a the bbq meat platter. It had dry inedible ribs, short rib, and some other meat which I completely left untouched after the first bite. The only good thing was the corn bread and the Kentucky bourbon ale (which they don't have anymore).
Try the countless spots on Westlake or along the 101 just a couple exits further down. BETTER FOOD BETTER SERVICE BETTER LOCATION
Thanks, but no thanks.
2 stars for the beer ONLYHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Nov 24, 2015Previous reviewThe place is great, it's exactly what this city has been needing. It is easy to miss off the free way, but easy to get there.
They greeted me right away with a smile and sat us in a huge booth. The beer selection is extensive and amazing. I ordered a stout that the waiter remomended. Great decision, as I dont know too much about be and he seemed very knowledgable, so I trusted him.
I started with a small app that he recommended, the mac and cheese balls. They were great! Stuffed with BACON!
For my main I ordered the salmon since i felt that would be a healthy choice following the mac n cheese balls. The salmon was flavorful and cooked to perfection. Not too fishy and not too slimey.
Overall, I had a great experience and that is the reason why I will continue to come back and tell my friends at Pepperdine.
Great job guys! - Wency B.Los Angeles, CA2401960Apr 16, 2016
The evening started off quite nicely as parking was not an issue when we arrived for dinner. My wife & I were greeted humbly immediately upon entrance of the warm, rustic-industrial barn atmosphere surrounding the open layout. Almost makes you feel at home.
The experience continues as we are seated and introduced to our server who was incredibly attentive. Giving her a 5 star service review would be an understatement.
Now let's get to the important points of this review. The FOOD! First, the menu isn't overwhelming with information & is clear & concise. It simply describes exactly what you'll be getting. However, the dishes are far from simple. The journey began with the Spinach Artichoke Toast & the House Bacon. The Spinach Artichoke just works beautifully with the toast which adds a nice texture to the already flavorful staple. Now, the House Bacon is a thick slab of Pork Belly, tender & juicy on the inside, crispy on the outside. Flavors were reminiscent to an Asian touch which partnered with the pickled veggies. Just amazing & is by far my favorite. The main course was the New York steak which didn't disappoint. Every bite was full of flavor and cooked perfectly with juices just flowing out. Kudos to the Chef for a fantastic menu.
We look forward to coming back and trying the rest of the menu. It's hard not to give this Gastro Pub 5 stars. Thanks for the experience.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
