The website tells you all the important stuff: Tent camping sites, RV hookups, a basketball court, a disc-golf course, a volleyball net, firewood and ice for purchase, even two yurts are all available. The star feature is the park's location right on the amazing Rogue River. Also, the park's namesake was a woman named Mary Peters whose father, Umpqua Joe, had some land where he built a cabin that looked out onto the river and Hellgate Canyon. Mary, or Indian Mary, used that piece of land to set up the smallest Indian reservation in the U.S.

But the reasons why I'm a fan can be summarized in just a handful of words: Showers and toilets with plumbing. Nature and I get along best with ample breaks from each other, that's all I know. Plus, you can't really go wrong with a yurt or two, can you?
