This is my go-to Indian restaurant. The bf and I are fairly new to Somerville and like to see what's out there, so we don't usually order from the same place more than once, but we order from here pretty often.

We only order the vegetarian entrees, and they're always pretty good. I'm super sensitive to spicy food (and am definitely not a fan of hot food), and this is always perfectly mild for me. I can see how this would be a turn off for other people, but it's a plus for me. The naan isn't as good as I've had other places (usually pretty burnt), but it's still good enough that we order it every time. Delivery has always been super fast - tonight we got it in under 20 minutes, but I don't think we've ever waited longer than 45.

We have eaten in the restaurant once and I was pleased with the experience. We ate pretty early for dinner so it was pretty empty, but I thought the service was good and I liked the decor.

Delivery through foodler. Chicken tikka masala and garlic naan.  Everything arrived hot and it was good.  I liked that it comes with rice (and clearly states that on foodler).  The chicken chunks were large and clearly marinated.  The sauce had a good balance of cream to tomato and spice.  I ordered spicy on foodler (also nice feature) and they delivered. lol

I would order from here again.

My friend and I went here last night with a http://Restaurant.com coupon. She wanted to rate it a 4, I wanted a 3, and since I'm the one with the Yelp account, it gets a 3.

I don't know if the http://R.com certificate lead to our minimized service and portions but it rather felt that way. Our waitress was perky and pleasant as could be before we mentioned the certificate; the perk went right out of her sails at that point.

We received our food in some semblance of timely manner.

My friend ordered the salty lassi, and according to her, it was like drinking brine. Luckily she drinks pickle brine sometimes ... wait, why is that lucky? Well, I had a sip, and though she warned me as I took the straw towards my lips, she was right to warn me. I shouldn'ta done it.

I had the lamb tikka masala which had an unmistakable taste of sun dried tomato (tasty in its own right!) but when I bit into a lamb chunk it tasted foul and unpleasant. I may just be a novice at the meat, but my friend was happy to take my lamb off me.

Her chicken korma was deliciously fruit and nutty, and was my very favorite of the many things we ate. Chicken was delicious and tasty. Great meat selection there.

The decor was nice enough, Indian-stylized prints, with the shiny gold plates that I sort of associate with the traditional. There were water marks on the ceiling, which was decidedly not sexy, but since they were by the front door, and not the kitchen it was nice enough to ignore.

Something I didn't care for was the manager of the restaurant asked if we wanted desert. We really didn't - we were stuffed pretty well full of generally tasty food, when the manager say "You have the coupon yes? You need $50, yes?" When we got the bill, we were more than
$20 over the required amount. I really thought that was shady. I might go back eventually, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

This is the only Indian place in Boston that always pulls through!

It is the best Indian food I have ever had (next to the stuff I had in Dubai) I have had Indian all over the Boston area and this place is where you should be eating your Korma and tikka masala!

Their korma dishes are my favorite! So savory and delicious. Their meat samosas are out of this world too!

I only eat take out here but I have been inside before and it has a nice vibe. The staff is super friendly too!

    Eat here!  Do it!

I suspect that this place has a better lunch buffet than dinner.  First off, it's really hot right now in Boston.  This place.. although I expected it to be ice cold when I walked in.. it was still hot.  They didn't have too many customers so I suspect they were saving money by turning the a/c on very low.  We were sweating throughout the meal.  Perhaps you want to consider takeout on these sweltering days.

Liked the dishes that we ordered.. big on portion... we both ordered lamb.  Not so much lamb in the dish.. but lots of sauce.  Rice is free.. that's a plus.  Portions are big enough that I only ate half.

They don't have the regular cilantro chutney which I thought was weird... only the sweet dark red and the spicy tomato one.

Typical dinner prices.. $12-14 before you add on naan.  Garlic naan wasn't so delicious.. not too strong of a garlic flavor.

It's so hard to find places that have NO delivery fees these days. And on top of that, it's hard to find places that offer so many unconditional discounts. And on top of THAT, to find such places that are actually GOOD. India Palace is one of those few gems left in a sea of money-hoarding online ordering sites...

I was extremely happy with the dishes I tried -- Malai Kofta and Shahi Paneer Korma. They were sweet and creamy, and oh-so-pleasing to my American palette! Rarely do I find a place in the Boston area that does it so perfectly (although whether it's authentic or not... who knows.) They also gave us an absurd amount of buttery basmati rice -- win!

The dishes are typically priced for the Cambridge area, between $11-15. They have an extensive menu and a reasonable delivery time (about 45 minutes during the lunch hour). For 4 starving and hungry graduate students, we paid $55 (tax included) and have copious leftovers.

The only thing is they don't give you plates or forks unless you ask.

This will definitely be my new delivery joint for Indian. I really wouldn't see the point in ordering anywhere else!

    Very impressed!
I don't go to Somerville very often but visited a friend there last night who lives in Union Square.  She loves this place.
We were greeted immediately when we walked in on a busy Friday night and were seated.  Our waiter quickly took our order and brought us our drinks.  The vegetable samosas were some of the best I have ever had with the perfect balance of spice and taste (and without the greasy feeling)
My chicken tikka masala was fantastic and the saag paneer was delicious.
My one and only complaint was that my naan was a little overcooked and had a burn spot so I couldn't give them a perfect score.
If there was a 4 1/2 I would give it to them but thought in the interest of yelping I would round down.

The food is great but the service has gone downhill over the years.  Delivery used to take 30 minutes, at most, and with the last three orders I've waited close to ninety minutes.  Cold soggy naan just isn't exciting to me and nor is reheating the food when I receive it.

Man, I'm surprised that India Palace has below 4-stars overall! I've been putting off reviewing IP for some reason despite eating there on almost a weekly basis.

I'd like to say that I've had Indian food all over town (well towns, let's say Greater Boston) and in other parts of the country as well, and there's just something about India Palace that I always seem to prefer over others.

It's not cheap, but then again my g/f and I are ordering enough food to feed all 1 billion+ in Indian so I guess I should expect it to be a little high for takeout. We tend to get the 2 app sampler platters, an entree, and a naan to share and sometimes (okay rarely, it's my fault) have leftovers for lunch the next day. As I write this I actually wonder if the samplers are actually the way to go in terms of value....hmmm probably not but there's not a thing in either that I don't crave every 8 days or so. The pakoras are crisp little fritters (usually, if we get there late or do delivery the can get a little soft), both the veg and meat samosas are like little Christmas presents with food inside- but the best part is even the wrapping paper is edible, the various tandoori meats and kebabs that come in the meat platter are all yummy and (again, usually- see pakoras for more info) very moist.

For entrees I go with either the chicken tika masala, the chicken makhni, or the malai kofte. All three are just the right mix of sweet, creamy, and spicy. In reality the only entree I've ever really disliked at IP was a vindaloo that tasted as though they threw way too much anise in- it was so bitter and licorice-y I couldn't take it.

For naan we usually go with either onion or garlic because we don't care about offensive breath if it means tasty tasty flat bread. The aloo naan is also up there for us, but for me I've yet to have a naan/paratha/pori I didn't like there.

If you're eating in I'd also suggest ordering a sweet lasi- it's not a really friendly and brave collie it's a yogurt based drink that's sort of like an Indian milkshake and they are goooooooooood.

Pro tip #1: If you're getting take out or delivery tell them on the phone "I have a coupon" (not I, Paul M., you- but you say I...get it? Good) and they'll take $3.00+ off your bill depending on the total price (it scales up w/ cost i.e. $30+  is like $4 off etc.)

Pro tip #2: Ask for the mint/green chutney. They tend not to include it unless you specifically ask, but I try to use this stuff on everything and then lick the container when it's done. Okay at home, creepy at the restaurant.

Pro tip #3: If you want one kickass lunch special, go here. It's like $7 all you can eat with a nice assortment of apps, entrees, and sides. Their buffet isn't the biggest I've seen, but they hit all the staples and the food is still better than most restaurants ordered dishes (i.e. not sitting in a hot line for hours).

The staff are super friendly, though that may just because I'm basically on a first name basis with them. I need help.

For being my fave Indian restaurant- 5-stars!

Inconsistent/meh. Twice I've eaten here with pretty good results. Today I got delivery (which was late coming), and the naan was gross and seemed to have been out of the oven for ages, and the paneer tikka masala hardly had any paneer and was basically just a container of sickly-sweet disgusting sauce. Maybe it was just an off night, but I don't think I'd eat here again.

I had a staple in my food. Yes that's right, a staple. With my first bite I gnawed down on office supplies hiding inside a chic pea. Luckily it didn't give me a puncture wound but if I wanted a lip piercing I would have gone to the mall not #$%&ing India Palace.

Also, I explicitly asked them over the phone in my most articulate and enunciated voice, "Is your vegetable Korma spicy?" The nice man on the other end said, "No, it is very mild." Just to be sure I kindly requested for them not to make it spicy at all. Now I know spiciness is in the tongue of the beholder, but for the purposes of running a restaurant you should have some objective notion of what is and what isn't spicy, even if you were born suckling on a chili pepper dipped in garam masala. Perhaps I'm too white and too American with a pallet muddled by  Doritos and Chef Boyardee that the Indian version of "Mild" is "Tongue-Smoldering Lava Sauce" to my unrefined taste buds.

Anyway, as I'm recovering from almost swallowing a small piece of metal that would have no doubt tore apart my insides, I begin to experience that oh so wonderful burning sensation overcome the pleasant taste in my mouth. There is no doubt the food here is good, but for someone with a sensitive stomach like me too much spice is a death sentence, thus my very simple request. A request which was eschewed! Immolated in the burning maw of a curry burp! Not in all my days spent upon this beautiful earth with mountains high and valleys low have I ever eaten a Korma as spicy as this. I couldn't finish it. I put it on the porch outside my front door and a stray dog wouldn't even eat it for me. A bird landed on the edge of the container and instantly burst in to flames. I farted and it melted my recycling bin and deleted all the contacts out of my cellphone.

So there I was, stuck with heartburn and a bunch of aloo paratha and white rice with nothing to slather it in. I guess that's why God invented ketchup. Thanks Heinz. No thank you India Palace.

I like their menu a lot. The Paneer Pakora is so good i could almost order it every week. The restaurant itself is nice enough, in Union Square. It's a nice place to walk to or from. Maybe on a weekend or whatever.
The guy on the phone could be more friendly. And we can' t order from them for my office because they're not on seamlessweb. Which drives me crazy.
They do seem very clean though. And delivery is fast.

We were looking for a nice place to eat dinner on Christmas Eve and this place was convenient and open until 11 PM.

We fond that the Nan bread was very fresh and very flavorful.  The menu had awesome selections.  One thing I liked is that the spiciness level were mild, spicy and super hot.  I liked the choice and even-though it is pretty standard the staff seemed to genuinely  care about getting it right.

The food was very flavorful and delicious.  We had a great experience.  Highly recommended.

This is one of my favorite Indian Food restaurants in the Somerville/Cambridge area making it one of my faithful go-to places in Union Square.

Service is always prompt when I've eaten here.

My favorite item to order is the Palace Dinner for 2, which, for $35 is a steal for the amount of food you receive:  Soup, samosa and pakoras for appetizers set the stage nicely for the lamb, chicken and shrimp curry entrees, which is served with rice and nan, followed by dessert.  Speaking of the nan, it is not very greasy, which I've experienced at other Indian restaurants.

After ordering this meal with my girlfriend, we typically have 3 servings leftover to take home.

The way I look at it, we payed $35 for 5 servings of great indian food.  I'll take that deal.

Next time, if we order from you, could you hold the staple that came in our curry sauce?? Yes, I did actually write a staple just there. Matt J. was enjoying his food when he felt something weird in his mouth and behold it was a staple!!

Too bad because the food itself actually was pretty decent for the cost. Although now we may know why it is so cheap!! They cook using office supplies! Honestly though, the amount of food you get delivered in their indian dinner combos is kind of insane. And they send you pretty good tupperware too which we are actually still using today. But when a staple shows up in your food, you really can't give the place more than two stars sadly.

Their curry sauce was good (minus the staple that is ha) but their samosas were just average in my book. Their saag paneer was pretty good. And the delivery came really quickly and they always send their advertisements with coupons in the mail too.

We should have called them when we found the staple, but since it was delivery and we didn't find it until well into our meal we didn't really see the point in calling...But India Palace if you are reading this, watch out for office supplies in your meals!

This place is solid...one of the better Indian restaurants in the area.  I can only comment on their delivery now but would like to visit the restaurant some day.  There are only a few items that kept it from 4 stars.

    Here we go:

    Plusses:
++ Lamb Vindaloo, Chicken Mushroom,  Aloo Gobhi, and Shrimp Tandoori  were all well-prepared.  Some of the dishes had some unique flavor (not the usual Indian buffet stuff) which was a welcome surprise.

++ Heat.  If you ask for spicy...you won't be disappointed.  If you ask for very spicy (like I foolishly did with the Vindaloo) prepare to cry.  That's the way it should be.  Thumbs up for making me break out my handkerchief.

    Minuses:
-- The Banana Yogurt Milkshake.  I'm still not sure what this was.  A milkshake? yogurt? pudding?  Too hard to classify.  It didn't even come in a cup!  Needless to say, it wasn't what I expected.  And while it tasked alright, the texture/temperature was all wrong.  That said, it was the best weapon I had to combat the vicious Vindaloo heat.

-- Pashawary Nan.  I've ordered this bread from a number of places and this one fell short. I prefer the bread sweeter and packed with more in it.  This bread was a little blah.

Yo, can I get some chicken tikka masal with that butter? Seriously, they have the most buttery, most creamy, most delicious chicken tikka masala I've had in this area. I wait impatiently for the random Sunday night when I feel it's appropriate to show my face in there yet AGAIN just so I can get the tikka masala.

I've also had the kormas, a lot of veggie dishes and some really yum lamb saag here. All were quite good but none really compared with the chicken tikka masala. The naan here is interesting. At first I didn't like it but now I'm way into it. It's sort of flatter and chewier than most naan - not quite so fluffy.

If you're looking for the most flavorful vegetarian Indian place, I would say this probably isn't it. But if you're down for some great chicken tikka, check this place out.

The operative word for all of us non-Union Square people: DELIVERY.

Granted, the fact that it's one of the best Indian restaurants in Somerville doesn't hurt. But because there are, in fact, better Indian restaurants in Somerville (Guru, Namaskar, Yak & Yeti), India Palace needs something extra to help it stand out...especially for those of us who live near those other, better restaurants. Delivery is that something extra.

I've dined-in at India Palace once, and it was solid. I had the tandoori chicken, which was fantastic: you can't get that fresh-out-of-the-oven taste in a delivery bag, so avoid the tandoori items if you're not visiting the actual restaurant. But nearly all the other dishes travel well, and the preparations range from just right to near-flawless. I particularly recommend the creamy paneer tikka masala on a cold day...and who wants to go out on a cold day? Let them deliver!

If you have an India Palace menu (they usually include one with a delivery), there are some 10% off coupons included. It's not the cheapest place around, so those help. If not for the delivery service, I might have given India Palace three stars. But when you can summon it to your house within forty-five minutes, it's a solid four stars. If you live in west Somerville, this is quite simply the best Indian you can get delivered to your front door.

I am more than a little bit obsessed with this place. Yes, the keyword for denizens of Union Square is delivery, like Seth S. said. Followed shortly by http://Foodler.com.

I've ordered out a few times from India Palace, and each time my boyfriend and I fight over how much gets saved as left-overs and how much gets shoved right in our faces.

I'm a vegetarian, and I love the options. I will say, I often think "I wish this were a little spicier," but I never think to ask for it that way. The dahl is super rich and salty, which balances really nicely with the rice. And they make the best malai kofta ever. The sauce is creamy, and smokey.

The only disappointing thing I've had so far is the coconut soup, which was watery and a little bland. But, honestly, it's not even worth bumping this place down a star. Eat here, definitely.

Thank god- a good Indian place that delivers to us!!

We have ordered from India Palace a few times now and have never been disappointed. Their Chicken Tikka Masala is the best I've had. Better than Punjab in Arlington, and I love theirs. But this is sweet and tangy and full of flavor. I also enjoy their Korma. Very tasty with a tiny kick. This most recent order, I got the Muttar Paneer- peas and cheese in a creamy herb sauce. More of a kick of spice here and delicious with the naan!

We get the Veggie Samosas and Aloo Tikki regularly as well. The naan is always warm when you get it and super soft and doughy. The rice is cooked just right.

Would be nice to actually go and eat there one time, but until then, I am perfectly happy to have a solid Indian delivery joint!

I have had only good experiences with India Palace, which is a great place to get a bite before a gig at P.A.'s.  It's not your typical Americanized joint--there is nary an onion bhaji to be seen, although they do have tikka masala in the lunch buffet--and there are many entrees that you won't see in poseur Indian places like Tantric or Diva.  While they've got a decent buffet, I'd recommend coming in the evening for dinner and ordering a full range of their menu items.  Highlights I had recently were the coconut soup (not the typical Tom with curry, but actually a creamy, sweet warm bowl of shaved flakes), the naan with coconut and nuts, and the vegetable korma (a dish I never see on regular Indian menus), which was sweet and full of broccoli, cauliflower and peas.

While other reviewers have mentioned poor service, I can't say that I share this perspective at all.  We have only had very attentive and kind servers, who put up with our incessant laughing over the Bollywood/Indian MTV being broadcast on the high-def flat screen mounted above the bar, a fun feature which differentiates this otherwise plain restaurant from a dozen other generic Indian establishments.

Today we sat sipping very rich and creamy Chai (VERY creamy and not sugary like the Starbucks' version) and watching bizarre vignettes of scantily clad Indian dancers and odd-looking men with slicked-back hair croon to one another in a mix of English and punjab.  I wouldn't have spent the afternoon any other way, and I highly recommend it to anyone who has a car and will travel to Union Square to check it out for themselves.

    This place sucks!
Ok, so the food was ok, but the service is so bad it is not worth it at all. The waiter was so rude and didn't know a thing about the menu.
Also we ordered some bread that came soaked in the oil it was cooked it and it was soggy and disgusting and he said that it was supposed to be like that and refused to take it back.
Then they got our bill wrong and gave us such a hard time about it.
He took the rice from our bag and threw it to the side just to spite me after wards.
    What an asshole!
So this place gets a serious thumbs down and if I could, I would give it negative stars.
    Don't eat here!

I usually order from India Castle in Central Square, but the other night, I was surfing around http://Foodler.com, and thought I might give India Palace a try.  Free delivery, low minimum order amount for delivery, and cheaper than my usual take out choice.  Cheaper!  I've been out of work for a couple of months, so cheaper is definitely a plus.  I ordered the Chicken Madras and Mint Nan.  There was a lot more sauce than chicken, which was kind of a dissapointment, but overall, I was pretty impressed.  It was full of flavor and spice, so that was a definite plus.

Delivery was fast and friendly, too!

Okay, if you love Indian food, then you'll love this place.  Since we've lived in Somerville over the past year, we've ordered from here a minimum of once a month, and my experiences going into the restaurant are always delightful and with the best customer service.

Most recently, I came here with Barbara Ann, and it was rainy and icky out, and we ended up being the last people in the restaurant before they closed (they had us in and out within the last half an hour of them being open) and delivered AMAZING food and great customer service.....both Korean joints were "closed" earlier than their signs stated, and were completely unapologetic about it.  We had truly one of the best dinners for about $30.

Normally I'm heading to Guru for Indian in Somerville, but it was 10pm on a Sunday night and my options were limited, so India Palace it was. I placed an order to go with a very friendly employee who didn't seem to mind my indecisiveness as I looked through the menu for what seemed like forever before deciding to stick with Tikka Masala. It was a good choice. Definitely on the sweeter side but not in a bad way. The naan was great too. And probably the best part, in my opinion, is that it came with PLENTY of rice. I feel like I never get enough rice at Indian restaurants and always have to order extra, but this wasn't an issue at India Palace.

So to sum it up, while Guru is tastier, India Palace is open later... and sometimes that makes all the difference.

I've been eating here for the past two years and am sad to see the bad review of the staff. On the contrary, I've found their staff to be the most friendly and hilarious crew around.

The food is really good, and the ongoing coupons and specials make less of a dent in your wallet. In a town overrun with Indian restaurants, India Palace stands out as a must-visit.

My roommate and I are doing a tour of Indian buffets in our area. We live near Union Square, so this was our first stop. We went on a weekday in early June, 2007.

The place was empty, but I think the buffet had been operational for only about 20 mintues. A couple more people came in while we ate, but the place definitely never got anywhere close to crowded. (this is not always a good thing with a buffet)

The quality of the food was good. Not great, but not bad either. A solid 3 stars. They had the standard options like chicken tikka masala, saag (or palak) paneer, veggie korma. A couple other main dishes and some samosas and pakoras. We also found salad, some chutneys and yogurt sauce and a couple desserts.

Naan service was tableside rather than at the buffet, and they gave each of us our own full piece (unlike Kebab Factory, which gave us a quarter piece). Both naan and water refills were plentiful (good since it wasn't very crowded) and the service was totally fine for a buffet.

Decor is pretty plain, feels like a restaurant you'd find in a strip mall. Not a huge deal, but I wouldn't come back for a romantic dinner or to try to impress out-of-town friends.

I'd like to give India Palace 3.5 stars for the full-sized naan and for having both pakora and samosas in the appetizer section. The quality doesn't quite merit 4 stars, so I'll have to stick with 3.

Price: $7.95 + tax. Our total came to $16.70 for two people.

Next Up: Haveli over by Inman Sq.

I'm noticing that some people don't like this place...I'm not surprised to be honest but not because of the food. The food here is good. The Chicken Tikki Masala is excellent - some of the best I've ever had. The samosa's are great too.

I feel like people aren't giving its fair shake b/c it's in Union Square - and I'll be honest many people don't expect much there. Plus, the service isn't amazing or anything but it's not that bad that warrants one or two stars...

(I do like the fact one of the guys working there is named Babu - as in Seinfeld's Babu...but I know, I know, he was Pakistani.) So go see if he still works there and let me know!

NEW: after hitting up another popular Indian joint, I wanted to remind y'all that: Indian palace is really the one of the very best Indian restaurants (at least for both vegetable samosas and chicken tikka masala). Check it!

I ordered food from India Palace over two hours ago.  Three phone calls later, they still don't know what happened except, "The delivery man is on his way, sir."  Frankly, that's just not going to cut it and not to state the obvious but I'm female.  So I just gave up and cancelled the order.

Considering I live within a 10-15 minute walk of this restaurant its pretty ridiculous - if they had just stopped saying he's on his way, then I would have walked over to get the food.  Its not like I'm in the middle of Delhi and I'm worried about lepers, beggars or rat dogs.  C'mon its just Union square and some pot holes!

We really like these guys, they're so nice.  Been here for dinner tons of times & the food is always very good.  Saag, naan, it's all good.  The owners & waitstaff are always so attentive & sweet, we love this place.

PS  Some moron below mentioned they don't deliver & that's wrong, they do deliver & do a great job @ it (taking credit cards as well).

Recently had their delivery.  I've never been inside their Union Square restaurant but I hear good things about the atmosphere.

The chicken korma is awesome, their Bread Basket which is one layer of onion naan, one layer of plain naan, and one layer of garlic naan is total YUM.  The onion chutney is a little watery for some reason but don't mind because when you are reheating something in the microwave you can drip that stuff over the basmati rice for a wonderfully spicey kick.  The vegetable samosas are the best I have ever tasted.  The vegetable Gobi and Palak Paneer are excellent.  Their Vindaloo has a BBQ taste which is a little different and unique but good.  They love to use cilantro which I am not a fan of but they don't overdo it which is nice.

Not impressive for the price.  I've only been here once, it was average and for the price I would prefer to drive a bit farther to get better food.

We went on a Friday night because we got a 2 for 1 coupon.  The meals range from $10-18 and were average.  We had a couple interesting appetizers, but the server wasn't able to help us with explaining what some of them were that we hadn't heard of.

it was a bit uncomfortable, because there wasn't a single person in the place and the staff were hanging out watching tv.  They were attentive if we turned around and called them over, but otherwise they left us alone.

Ordered Lamb Saag for delivery the other night and it was quite good although nothing tops Punjabi Dhaba in Inman Square.  My paneer naan was burnt/black on one side but the Molligatawny(sp?) soup was awesome and actually made the meal (I ate it with the Paneer : ' )

Perhaps I was luckier than some of the other reviewers but I'll try again.

We thought our regal treatment was part and parcel to our reputation preceding us, but no - India Palace treats all patrons like visiting royalty. Palatial in spirit if not exactly appearance, the dining room is minimally festooned, and rather not anything like the opulent splendor to which the Lady Friend and I are accustomed, and this is just fine by us. The focus is on the food, as it should be.

Our wallets flush with Friday paychecks and discount coupons (even monarchs are feeling the pinch these days), we ordered up with wild abandon, throwing darts at appetizers and the extensive selections of naan. There were samosas, and pakoras, and a huge pile of bread on our table in no time. As this was our first time, we test drove some basics for the main entrees - saag for her, a vindaloo with lamb for the Spaghetti Cat (nee Nick Lachey). We were suitably impressed and satiated, and will return with our retinue in the imminent future.

    Tasty tasty tasty.

I haven't been for lunch, but Iv'e found the staff to be friendly (at least when I pick up) and johnny on the spot when I dined in.

Yes, there decor leaves a bit to be desired, but it's a tiny indian place in union square. . . who cares?  It's not like it's dumpy, it's nice just. . .well. . .non-descript.

I love having this place close to me, and as I start to eat out a bit more, I find ymself coming here more and more.  Too bad I can't enjoy the naan anymore (no more wheat for me) *sigh*  ah well.

Yay, I finally have a great Indian delivery place in my repertoire!

I ordered on Foodler on a Saturday night. My food came hot and within the estimated 45 minute timeframe.

The tikka masala is sweet but very flavorful, the basmati rice perfectly cooked, the naan was warm and tasted delicious, the veggie samosas were tasty, and the pakoras good too (though a little oil logged).

    Would repeat any time!

Chicken Curry- I ordered it medium spicy and it was very very mild

Chicken Korma-- just like the Tikka it was really sweet.

Not going back anytime soon.  eck.

My cousin and I order delivery from here often. I don't think I have ever been in the store, or if I have it was probably the store before it. I find that I like the Chicken Tikka Masala - the chicken isn't fatty or boney and the sauce is yummy, and the rice is very good too - just about enough flavor for me. I hate with a passion when the chicken is all gross.

I've had and liked the poori (though it doesn't travel that well and comes all crumpled and squished up. The pakoras are good, I think I probably need to try the samosas. The naan and the garlic naan are also good in my opinion though I need to review the menu more before just going to my old standby (the afore mentioned tikka and poori).

I have been here twice for the buffet. They and I have actually branched out a little bit, and liked it too! I agree with Sara S., the Saag is good. I like eating at good places like on the cheap, if that means during the day, or just getting apps. It's still good food.

The other night I ordered take away from them. I got the palace chat (tasty yogurt tikka chicken slices, cucumber slices - a little sweet, but very good) and the plain bread basket (one slice of three kinds of bread) and aloo tikki, all were very good. They didn't even look at me all funny for wearing my PJs in to pick it up.
