It's definitely not the best Indian food that I've ever had, BUT it is the only Indian restaurant in Tricities and I love Indian food. The food is plenty good and the service is ususally very attentive (the restaurant has never been even remotely crowded when I've been there). The decor is always entertaining. They've been at 2 locations since I've arrived in Tricities and it's always been a fun game to determine what the facility was before India Palace got there.
They do a lunch buffet that's reasonably priced and has a large selection. Definitely go hungry if that's your plan!

This restaurant has bunny-hopped to a few places around the Tri-Cities (south of the Uptown in Richland, an old Sizzler bldg on Clearwarter Ave, and it's current location on Columbia Center Blvd).
India Palace is located at a fairly centralized spot, and is in a building with fairly nice view. I went for a meal vs. A La Carte (the meal is big---comes in a platter with the main entree, salad, curry of the day, a broccoli side dish, rice, naan, and a rice pudding dessert. My main entree was Chicken Makhini. Man it was YUUUUUUMMMMMYYYY! I had had this in their lunch buffet years ago, and liked it then, and it definitely brought back some good memories. The spiciness was adequate, I could have went for a little spicier, but it was good nonetheless.
I will definitely not wait years between visits to the India Palace!
I wanted to like this place, I really did. I have gone to the buffet a few times and the food is really good. HOWEVER: there is NEVER enough fresh naan on the buffet. It always runs out and you can sit 20 minutes waiting for naan. Also, I have gotten food that seemed VERY old, like the chicken in the sauce was dry and chewy and hard. But the clincher for me:
1. The bathrooms are FILTHY. Nasty. Turns your stomach. Old poopy, uncleaned toilets with stuff growing it them. Pee dried on the outsides. If their bathroom is this filthy what is the kitchen like?
2. A dish I got for take-out once, was SO BAD. It was supposed to be makhani chicken but it was burned, dark red, with a half inch slick of oil on top that leaked out all over the bag. We threw it out.
3. A long, black HAIR in my food. Need I say more???
Sorry. If you can get past the unsanitary filth and the staff smoking outside the door, maybe you'd like the food. And the hairs.
