India Place offers solid northern Indian cuisine.  The selections on the menu don't venture from what you'd expect, and food isn't as highly spiced as it could be, but the food is well-crafted and satisfying.  

We've eaten in and taken out.  Since the dining room isn't transcendent (but it's not bad, either) and the take-out experience is so good, we favor the latter:  the food is always ready when they say it will be, and without prompting they include chutneys with orders of papadum, raita, and plenty of attractively presented basmati.  Our orders can be large, but they've never made an error.  

I consider India Palace to be an oasis in the desert - they are an enjoyable alternative to the predominately bleak food offerings in and around Cockeysville.
