The chicken you'll clearly see on the rotisserie through the window as you approach Inca is absolutely juicy delicious. This is a very small place with no tables...so it's pick up, pay, and leave. Sometimes the line is a tight squeeze when it's busy.

Everything else on the menu (rice, potatoes, plantain, broccoli, mixed salad) is actually prepared well and tasty as well, especially the Spanish rice. I like the herbal taste of the mash potatoes, but I'm particular and prefer mine smooth (no chucks) and creamier.

The chicken can be ordered as a whole or halved, and they'll cut it up too. And let me repeat, the chicken is juicy delicious...and it slides smoothly off bone. I've gotten chicken here many times, and each time it's been consistently moist...and a definite palate pleaser.

Sadly, and I hope it's not true, but I've been past this place a few times lately and each time it's been closed at a time when it's usually open. I'm not sure what's up. Granted I haven't picked food up here in a few months, but I really hope it didn't close up its operation. They cook the best chicken rotisserie in the neighborhood...and perhaps beyond. For $10 you can get a whole chicken and a few side dishes. The staff was always very friendly too.

I'm going to investigate Inca's status, and hope it's still open.

October 11th: Sadly, it appears this take out chicken place is closed, as evidenced by the non-working business number.

October 21st: Just found out why this place closed. The building had a fire: end of story.

While this place definitely fits in the "hole in the wall" category, it is OH MY GOD delicious. The food is always unbelievable and suprisingly clean, nothing wierd or skeevey about the food (and i am picky). The chicken is ineffably delicious, moist and perfect. The mixed veggies are real veggies, nothing frozen. The mashed potatoes are incredible, with some thin slivers of onion and bell pepper in the mix. They go a little crazy with the garlic, but i love garlic so its all good. My boyfriend always goes to pick up the food because the restraunt itself is definitely a turn-off in a big way for those of us easily wierded out, but don't let looks decieve you with this place. SOOOO good and super cheap.

After living in the Bushwick/Ridgewood area for about 5 years its time to give the good ones their due respect.  There is a reason they call some places a hole in the wall.  This one would fit that definition. All the stars here are for the chicken they serve.  Several times i have come here to buy their rotisserie chicken.  It is amazing how they always get the thing right... Not over cooked or under cooked. This chicken (whole $6.50 half $3.50) is 95% of the time cooked perfectly with its juices still spilling out when they put it in that tin and paper bag of theirs.  As you ask for it, they will say  "pica'o?"(cut up in spanish), and like in an auction your faintest nod will be taken as a yes or no. Now this just means that they will unceremoniously chop it up with cook's shears and bag it quickly to put your order together. When you get home, you need to put your plate or bown under the bag before you pull the chicken out as it will spill and make a delicious mess!  As you try to serve it you will see what i mean... To add to its perfection, the meat will be falling off the bone try as you might to pull a leg on its own. You wont be able to, the bone will come out clean... most times. And as for flavour... yummmm very tasty not salty, not dry, even the breast will be savoury and moist as the rest of the chicken. If you want the tastier piece... take the wings! The skin is awesome too, but there is flavour through out the meat.

The sides are very simple, rice, beans, mixed steamed veggies salad (lettuce tomatoes cucumber..), ripe plantains, tostones. They also have some breaded fried shrimp.  I cant talk bout the shrimp as i havent had them... the real thing here is the chicken.  The usual perfect combination id say is the chicken with the ripe plantains and some salad (dont ask for any dressings if you are traveling). The tostones are ok,  but if you are ordering take out... they usually dont keep well with the steam in the bag and all.  So, do yourself a favor... when u are near that area, check them out... its dirt cheap too! As far as i know they dont label themselves with "the best chicken" or "number one" or any such delisions of grandeur as i have see i other places (El Malecon in Washingto Heights, La Nueva Espana in Inwood). They are just INCA and their chicken speaks for itself, deliciously loud....
