One of the Business' Favorite Reviews What's This?
Wow...all 5 star reviews and well deserved! There are few things I think you should pay someone to do, the top three being: roofing, surgery and taxes.
We've been going there for years a live a block away. A few days ago, we drove by and Mr. K says, "I wish we had to do taxes more often so we could go see Eve more." I mighta slugged him but I already broke one of his ribs this week and, truthfully, I agree.
Seriously - I actually look forward to it. While she's running the numbers, we talk about her twins, real estate, pop culture and cake. I'm disappointed when she's done because I just so thoroughly like this person.
Last year I heard from some classmates that I might be able to write off my tuition. I shot her an email and magically, when I showed up the next week to drop off my stuff, Eve had already researched it and agreed that I met the conditions, resulting in an $11,000.00 return. Well worth the $150.00 or so bill to run our joint filing.
Her and her husband, Peter, are really good, smart, cool people - if they weren't so busy doing taxes and raising twins, they very well could be Yeeps. They're THAT amazing. :)
I'd made a mess of my taxes in previous years, so this year, I decided to bite the bullet and make an appointment with tax professionals. I chose In or Out because it is a local business and also because it had so many positive reviews, and I don't regret it for a moment.
I walked into the In or Out office with a big folder full of a mess of paperwork, 3 years behind on taxes. I walked out with the paperwork for two tax years completed(!), and a helpful plan to fill in the "blanks" for year 3. All I can say is that Tessa has the patience of a saint! Peter was also very helpful when I had questions.
I will be back soon for that last year! And then they can count my annual patronage.
OK so I've been going to In or Out Tax Service for 8 years and have always been happy with my experience and that's saying alot since the only things you can count on in life are death and taxes and neither are that much fun (especially that death thing- yuch!).
My taxes as a home owner and independent consultant (1099 or Corp) are always complicated and Eve is always agelically patient and makes me actually enjoy getting my taxes done with early....imagie that.... try them, you'll love them!

Based on previous reviews I had my taxes done here. I could not have been more disappointed. The waiting room, which is open to the main office is noisy and filthy. There was a pot of coffee brewing but we were never offered any. I was happy that Eve was our preparer because of all the wonderful reviews however, she brought her daughter to work that day and unfortunately spent a good portion of our appointment time distracted by her daughter. About half way through our appointment another client brought their child in with them and that child proceeded to throw a tantrum in the waiting room. Eve then informed us that someone else would finish our filing so that she could take care of the client with the screaming child. Getting your taxes done is stressful enough but paying someone way too much money to make the experience miserable was ridiculous.
A total tax neophyte, I walked in off the street looking for any help I could get. Kay and everyone else in the office were fabulous and whipped through my return with professionalism and pizazz! (OK, the pizazz was for the pink-haired receptionist!) They were seriously knowledgeable about all my self-employed needs, and seriously nice. Highly recommended.

OUR CURRENT TAX SEASON!
We prepare and e-file your 2008 Federal and State tax returns. When you choose to have your refund direct deposited, it can show up in your account in as little as two weeks after it has been e-filed. This is standard procedure based on the IRS's stated disbursment schedule. (We can't guarantee it once it's in the government's hands).
If you need it faster, we do offer the next day loan-on-refund.
We are proud of our reasonable rates. We charge per form, and we will not charge you for forms you don't need or things what won't benefit you.
Meet the Business Owner: Eve D.
Hello, I'm Eve, the owner of In or Out Tax Service, and I just wanted to let you know a little bit about who we are.
I started doing taxes for my husband Peter's small business years ago and realized it was something I liked doing, so I took more classes and started doing other people's taxes as well. In 2000, my husband and I launched our business, In or Out Tax Service (the same year I found out I was pregnant with twins!).
Now we have an office on SE Division and we added Kay, an enrolled agent to our team. She is licensed to deal with the IRS if any of you have audit trouble or IRS problems.
For 2009, we hired Krista to focus solely on payroll. We also added 2 new Licensed Tax Preparers. Erin speaks fluent Russian and Tessa has pink hair.
