We had the intentions of going to Krispy Kremes, but In-n-Out seemed like a better option when we finally got to that area.
I went tonight & there wasn't a long line WOOHOO, that's so rare. Where did everyone go???? There was a line of 15-20 cars outside to get to the drive-thru. I've actually only gone once through an In-n-Out drive-thru, because it takes so long, much quicker to go in and order.
11:30PM, I already ate dinner, I guess the #3 I got was my mid-night snack? and it was good. I usually don't eat this late, because I know I'll sleep soon, but I was there & the smell was good.
Got my #3 with grilled onions yummm, ate in the car on my way home. My clothes now smell like the food I just ate.
I saw a guy putting potatoes in the potato chopping thing for fries, HOW COOL!!!!!! Even though their fries don't taste the best.
OPEN LATE AT NIGHT when nothing else is open.
I am hoping I just went on a bad day... I had a hamburger and fries here and it was THE WORST in n out food I have ever eaten! I have been to the Sacramento and Oakland locations before. Daly City did not compare.
Cold Hamburger. Fries that tasted dehydrated, as opposed to french fried! If I ever find a good reason to eat here again, and have a positive experience, I'll be sure update the review.
Nonetheless, my first and only experience here was not worth the wait.
The standard. The gold standard. Not much of a need to write more.
I will skip a food review and judge the clientele. The Daly City In and Out is the Mecca for South San Francisco construction workers and for those who have Yellow Fever.
I have been coming to this particular In N Out ever since it opened up. I love it. In N Out is already good. Cheeseburger Animal Style, Animal Fries, and a Neopolitan Shake is what I usually order. Never had a problem with this location.
Drive through is pretty good too, its not a long wait, its just as long as waiting inside for your food! And what I love is that they actually have someone outside to take your order. Thats pretty cool, better than talking to a speaker.
Simply the best!
I've been coming to this place since it opened. The staff is attentive, my NO salt order is consistent and accurate.
Good choices of fountain drinks, and place can get crowded during busy hours.
The bathroom is often clean and routinely mentained. There's always somebody cleaning tables, filling up ice, and sweeping the floors.
I just wish they'll do my patties medium rare the way I like them. One thing is a must - eat the burger ASAP! Take home not recommended.
I just popped my In-N-Out cherry Halloween weekend. It was quite memorable and I don't regret a thing :P. In fact, I liked it so much I took a picture with my first. I didn't get a name though ;P. I had a single with cheese and animal style with my fries. The burger was neatly made and small. The thousand island sauce and onions really enhanced the flavor of the burger. Since the patty is so small and the balance of toppings is near perfect you can easily eat more than you intended. The fries were hand cut and delicious. Next time I'm getting a double patty sandwich.
Best burgers end of story.
My favorite: Double double with onions please! And a Coke to go with that :)
very clean, "nothing to hide" kitchen lay out.
great food, but you gotta make them work for it!
cheese burger, but not an ordinary one
-extra crispy buns
-jalapenos
-animal style
-extra grilled onions
One star off cuz the girl didn't know how to make a road kill (animal fries, but with chopped up meat patty)
I train for marathons and most recently ran the SF Marathon in July. I needed to eat after the race but was feeling really woozy. A few hours later, I suddenly felt better and only wanted one thing- a cheeseburger. This is strange because I haven't eaten meat in a year. Anyway...
Hubby drove me to In-N-Out in Daly City and we got some food to go. Hubby got a double double with fries and I got a cheeseburger with fries. OMG- it was so worth the drive, and the 26 mile run leading up to it. The best part was the bun on the burger. They must grill them because it had a crispy, delicious texture.
Yesterday, I took hubby out for a fourteen mile run, his longest ever, and at the end, guess what he wanted...In-N-Out. So, off we went and it was as delicious as ever!
Finally, the lines might be long but the price is great and the food is SO GOOD!
When im in the mood to drive down the street further from my house, which is right next to Nation's this is the one other place that is so worth going to later at night.
I think the crazier part about this IN N OUT compared to the other ones I've been to around the state is that its right next to a Krispy Kremes. Unfortunately, that spot looks dead as hell.
Same normal problems that plague all IN N OUTs persist here. There is no point driving thru. Just park the car, order, grab, and get out. Much faster IMO.
Best way to wind down after a grueling work-out at Planet Fitness?
A Double Double, no onions, fries, and a vanilla shake from In-N-Out across the freeway!
At least it takes 5 minutes to walk there, so I feel even better about it.
First off, I want to give a big fat finger to all the people who think IN-N-OUT is overrated. I remember before they opened the Daly City/Millbrae locations, I would drive all the way to Mountain View to get my burger fix!
WHERE ELSE can you get "100% pure beef that's never frozen", "freshly baked buns from real sponge dough", "hand leafed lettuce", "shakes made from real ice cream", "french fries cooked in pure, cholesterol-free vegetable oil" from "potatoes that are peeled and diced right in the store".... come on now... NO OTHER fast food joint is as committed to quality as IN-N-OUT. It's always fresh, and made to order.
Which is why In-N-Out always has a long line in the drive-thru that wraps around the parking lot. But that's why there's an employee standing outside that takes your order before you get to the front.
And there's always a long line INSIDE the store too. Expect to wait about 10 minutes to order and get your food. I've NEVER been In-N-Out of that place. But it's worth the wait, and It's decently-priced considering all the quality that goes into creating your scrumptious fast-food meal.
For lunch today, I ordered a cheeseburger, fries, and chocolate shake=less than $6.00. They'll give you the paper placemats if you want to eat in your car. And they have bible verses stamped on the bottom of the cups and burger wrappers. Oooh-weee, In-N-Out, you're as good as it gets.
I was doing really really well - I've been exercising (my legs have been looking muscley!!) and eating really healthy lately. Then, one night, I went out dancing. Then I got really, really hungry.
The only thing that was open was In-N-Out Burger. And I reasoned with myself - since I had been up dancing for like 4 hours - that's like doing aerobics for like 4 hours, which means I should treat myself, right?
Yah.
Protein cheeseburger with grilled onions.
Crispy Fries.
I couldn't finish all my fries, so guess who helped out?
She's the luckiest cat ever.
It's freakin' In-N-Out. Do I really need to say more?
The burgers at In-N-Out are the best you can get at a fast food joint. They always look so scrum-diddly-umptious! I usually get a double-double or a 3x3 (3 patties, 3 cheese), an order of fries, and a coke. I'd say aside from the extra patty and slice of cheese that's a pretty standard meal there, but don't let that stop you from getting creative.
In-N-Out is famous for having their not-so-secret Secret Menu. I'm sure most of you already know what these are, but if not, a simple search on google will give you multiple results. I believe the most commonly ordered "item" from the secret menu is Animal Style (extra dressing, which I believe is Thousand Island, and diced grilled onions). You can get your burger or your fries Animal Style. If it's your first time here, you should seriously consider Animal Style.
In-N- Out also has the Neopolitan Shake (mix all three flavors chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla), and fries well done (crispy fries). I don't see these on the In-N-Out website so I thought I'd add them.
Happy eating!
I was hungry at 5:00 after not eating the whole day. I wanted something, something that would just be perfect you know?
We were near in-n_out and so we came here. After we parked, i could already taste the smell in my mouth as we walked closer.
Ordered a #2 and a strawberry shake. I am #18.
"number 4"!!! they yelled as i went to go prepare and washed my hands.
dang, thats a long way to go....
as we sat, we started talking.....talking about kukje sushi! DAMNIT!! that wouldve been the perfect meal!!!
now , not happy with my order, i took a bite from my burger, it was worth the wait and it was semi perfect for the moment.
My fries however, had a piece of hair in it. I disregarded it onto the ground before i thought about complaining and getting my money back for some sushi. damn. fail#2. the fries were also like the bits and pieces of the leftovers on the bottom. they were like cubes and were kinda black.
overall. still good. :]
what can I say... it's The Best damn Burger I've ever had!!!
my usual order: #2, No Onions! and a pink lemonade.
Their Milkshakes are good too! I like the Strawberry milkshake.
This has to be be absolute guilty pleasure. I recently lost a ton of weight and every two weeks (sometimes sooner) I find myself at In-N-Out in line ordering a cheeseburger with just cheese, katsup, and grilled onions. I'm a minimalist when it comes to burgers and they do it right every time for me.
I love several things about the Daly City Location:
1. Its across the street from work and I don't have to go out of my way to get there.
2. The line always moves fast
3. They do the fries well done....very well
4. The staff is friendly, courteous and efficient
5. If they make s mistake on an order (and it does happen) they make it right every time,
6. They are just damned good
Not all In-N-Out locations are equal, Daly City sets itself apart from the rest.
#2 no onions, fires well done with a coke..... Can't go wrong with that! Their milk shakes are really good too.
This place is the bomb and was always known for its real fries -- not cubed, sliced, frozen, high-fructose-corn-syrup potato "paste," shipped in from Timbuktu, and put in the freezers until it's time for the deep fry -- like, ah.. some fast food outlets.
I give rate this In-N-Out 4 stars because there are better burgers out there but at higher prices.
Generally good communications and competent counter people, who get the long lines of people served in a fairly reasonable time - less than twice the time you'd wait in other fast food places.
I don't care if it's 98324982750843 calories or that I might die of a heart attack from overindulgence but all I gotta say is:
Thank you.
Thank you IN N OUT for making delicious Double Double Cheeseburgers made to order and fat-ridden Animal Fries heaping high with huge dollops of Thousand Island dressing, grilled onions and gooey cheese melted to perfection.
If that's not heaven, I don't know what is.
what.the.heck.
you put an in n out right next to a krispy kreme? WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO DO TO ME??
note: i am only allowed in the vicinity of this square block once a year. because if i remember it's there, my butt will grow four times its size just thinking of the cheeseburgers and fried dough next door.
i need one of those lohan ankle bracelets just to make sure that i stick to that plan.
oh my god ih-nih-nout is so good the burger are so delicious they feel so good in my mouth i eat them i get four beef patties on each burger and nothing else cuz the meat is so good getting tomatoes makes it impure all this is very important news that you need to know oh god this place is great workers dress like clowns but they sure do work hard and make it look like theyre having fun tho theyre actually not oh ih-nih-nout drooooooooooool....
The above should be treated as if spoken by a blustery British fellow with a monocle and enormous sideburns
this place is always crowded. minus one star.
the burgers here are not as good compared to other in & outs, probably because the staff is overwhelmed. minus another star.
i think the current facility is inadequate for the demand. for this many people, they really need a place as big as the in & out in barstow, ca. i hope they open another one nearby one of these days.
Wow! I finally had my first Animal Style burger & it was absolutely delicious!!!!
I will definitely be returning for another Animal Style burger.
If you decide to go to In-N-Out Burger, make sure not to go during the lunch rush that starts at noon!
The place is small & it gets packed quick! But the service is also quick! You won't be waiting too long!
Ethereal fluffy french fries
Fresh and tasty hot off the grill burgers
Prices that make McDonald's look expensive!
It's these very simple things we east coast dwellers are denied...
Why??
Is it because it's one of the few things in California that doesn't cause cancer??
Maybe.. I don't know.
But what I do know is that In-N-Out is one of the few fast food places I actually WANT to eat at. It seems that the rest of the west coast agrees, every location I've been to is usually packed.
I hate you.
If you are in Daly City picking up Krispy Kreme, you are bound to get sucked into In/Out burgers. Yup that happened to us this Sat evening. We ordered our dbl-dbl burgers w/grilled onions, well-fries, and shakes.
Oh my god the calories. This place was packed at 10pm. After stuffing ourselves drove home via 87th street past McDonald's (Micky-D was empty).
The first thing I did after getting off my cross country flight, was to go to In-N-Out. I appreciated this great burger place when I grew up in Cali, as they were always scarce, but I appreciate it even more so after having NONE in Philly (which of course won't change as they have no plans to expand past Nevada).
Be sure to order your Double Double "Animal Style", as I have to admit that this was the first time that I did....and it was divine....the ranch dressing that they put on the Double Double burger was just amazing.
Went to check it out, as we don't have these on the East Coast. The food had rave reviews, so I take my hungry friend, and off we go.
I'm not sure what the appeal is? We were there on a Friday night, and the place was FULL of teenage angst. Lots of guys showing off the customizations they've made to their cars in the parking lot. Lots of too-thin-to-be-healthy teenage girls standing around disinterestedly, and texting.
Next to us, a young guy with a much older man. They were splitting a burger and fries? What's with that... oh wait.... Bibles.
Ah, hell! Twenty minutes later, we know more about this guy's life than we want to, and he'd like to 'save' us. And still, my food is not ready!
My soul: Unsaved.
My burger: Saved 3/4 of it and ate it for breakfast the next morning.
My Fries: Perished in the hell that is my buddy's stomach
The verdict: You have to really want it to wait that long. I didn't really want it. It could be good food, but I was distracted by the thought "Who Would Jesus Text?"
LOVE!
Regular burger with ketchup. i love their fries! Can't be beat. Although I've heard Animal Fries taste good, I've tried them.. i just dont like the secret sauce :P
Perfect for satisfying my:
1. Rainy day cravings
2. "Just flew into SFO and hungry as hell" cravings
3. "Let's do a second date at a less pricey place" cravings
4. "Headed to Big Sur and need to eat before hand" cravings
5. "I'm too tired, lazy and cranky and need to eat... soon" cravings
6. "It's either this or crack" cravings
7. "I spent my pay on a $1400 jacket and now am broke but need to eat" cravings
8. "I'm blue and down and need an upper" cravings
9. "I want to treat my body to grease" cravings
10. "I want to venture into suburbia and see how the locals eat" cravings
Cheap, quick, clean, filling, unhealthy but healthy, fresh fries, simple burger, yummy shakes (though get ready for some major concave cheek, puckered lip sucking), easy parking, drive in laziness, dependable anytime of the year and just your good old burger, no frills, no fuss, no muss satisfying slice of beef heaven.
... Amen!
On Wednesday night after dropping my state returns at the post office, I decided to reward myself with a combo #3 from In-n-Out Burger. CHOMP, CHOMP!! Delicious!

I like this location better than the one near Fisherman's Wharf. This place is always busy. They also have a VERY popular drive thru http://static.px.yelp.... (long winding line of cars). In comparison, next door the Krispy Kreme drive thru is usually empty, in case you want to get some donuts at the same time. We just need a drive thru hospital added to complete the package.
I've never tried combining an In-n-out burger patty with cheese, inside a sliced Krispy Kreme donut, and I don't think that I want to either. According to Thomas Keller and Google employees, it's great. Here's a pic of the version prepared by Google's cafeteria.
http://www.geeksaresex...
Note for germophobes: this drive thru has separate windows to pay and pickup your food. So the person handling the money doesn't touch your food.
What's not to love about In-N-Out? This location is pretty good, I've been coming here ever since I moved out to the City and they've never messed up my order. The drive through gets long, but what In-N-Out drive through isn't long? Definitely worth the wait for my grilled cheese animal style with a side of fries.
It's 1:00AM, and your stomach is telling you to make it stop growling... IN-N-OUT!
Might feel a little guilty for eating fast food once awhile, but you can always burn it off next day ;)
I would give this place a 4.5 stars because their milkshakes are too thick and sometimes they forget to put salt or give me salt for my fries.
Anyways, I loveeeeeeeeeeeee the burgers. I always get the double-double, and mannn, it hits the spot every time.
Another downfall would be it makes my tummy fat! UGH. But I do love themmm
Intense cravings for freshly made cheeseburger won over sheer will power tonight.
Especially when I've been a good girl all day --- oatmeal and green tea for breakfast, sinigang na hipon (shrimp cooked in a tamarind soup base) and low fat greek salad for dinner. I even snacked on fruits in between!
I needed an additional 500 calories to fulfill my daily caloric intake.
Open until 1 am, Sun-Thurs and til 1:30 am on Fri-Sat. And, only 7 miles from my neighborhood in SF!
I got my food at the drive through and my car clock read 12:30 am. Technically speaking, this is really next day's meal.
Forget breakfast! What a better way to start your day than with a cheeseburger and well done fries!!!
can I get a WOOP-WOOP?
Never had a problem, fresh food made to order, fixes my hunger problems. Everytime i crave a burger or some fries i'll come here or nations. They're open late into the night which is a big plus for me, about 1am or 2am i believe. The only thing i dont like about this is that seats are a bitch to find some days. Usually peak hours, around lunch or 10pm fri/sat nights.
This place also comes with some high school kids who like to stare at what you're wearing, point at some article of clothing you wear, and turn to his group of 5 guys and talk about it hella loud. -_-
I'd give the burgers an average review. Their okay but Wendy's and sometimes Mickey D's are good too. The fries are kind of thin. I like McD's when their hot and Wendy's fries and burgers are good too.
The location can be crowded at the usual rush hours of lunch and dinner. It might be hard to get a table but usually waiting is rewarded.
It's also close to Krispy Kreme if you need dessert.
Overall a okay burger at an okay price.
Well, it happened. In-N-Out now advertises on the radio...won't stop me from buying my shit, though.

Oh, God, how I love In-N-Out. It's the only fast food that I will gladly purchase. They use less… Read more »
Paid another visit today. I have no argument against it. A double-double with grilled onions and xtra toasted bun. I've got it so bad I won't even waste the melted cheese that sticks to the inner wrapper *so sad*. An order of fries as well. Simply the best. 'Nuff said.
4.5 stars since closes at 1am - a bit early for post night-outings. Finally tried chopped chili on the burger (http://static.px.yelp....) and fries (http://static.px.yelp....), and they were great! And it's true, a toasted bun will keep it from being too soggy. $7.32 after tax (http://static.px.yelp....) is good ITTET*. Good for late nights...and not drive-through late, but go-inside late. The last few trips have been cheeseburger and fries, both animal-style (http://static.px.yelp....), and chase it with root beer.
The "secret" menu (http://daviswiki.org/I...).
An interesting fact (http://www.snopes.com/...).
