Go here only on weeknights when the proper chef is working, and you won't go wrong. This is the only Chinese place I will go to where you never see Chinese eating here. It seems like a place that likes to do dishes favored by North American Caucasians. Open the menu and find the outlandish claim that the chef is one of the best out of China. Kung Pao Tofu is one we always order, followed by whatever we're in the mood for. Decent portion sizes always got us taking stuff home.
I went there with three other people last night, which was a Friday, around 8pm. We were promptly seated when we walked in the door. The service throughout the dinner was excellent. We ordered one of the family dinners which comes with a plate of appetizers and each person gets to choose one dish. We each also ordered a drink. They were strong! Big plus there!
When the dishes got there they were nice a large, and would easily feed the 4 of us. When we were done we had leftover food and the waitress kindly put them into to-go boxes for us. We left very happy and full!
I've been going to Imperial Garden for many years now. It's usually once or twice a week. I'm always impressed with the way they run their restaurant. I'm always greeted when I go in the front doors. I'm promptly seated and the food has always been consistantly good. Prices are reasonable. They work hard there to let you know they appreciate you being there.
