6 reviews for Imo's Pizza
A short review/explanation aimed at the grossed-out, tasteless non-St. Louisans:
Instead of mozzarella - universally and un-originally used in every pizza from coast-to-coast, including your grocer's freezer - Imo's uses Provel, which is a delicious, 100% processed cheese blend presented by God as a gift to His Favored City, St. Louis. Read up:

No other pizza in the world - and I've eaten them from coast-to-coast and on three continents - compares to the thin little square of Heaven that is Imo's!
The trick is to make sure you have all the condiments on hand, which includes a Cardinals or Blues game on the tube.
NB: Out-of-towner perspective.
WHAT IS THIS STUFF?
Looks like a giant, crunchy lavosh spread with pro-vel cheese (like provolone, but...processed with a hint of gunmetal). The sauce is sweeter than what I'm used to, but not cloyingly so...and a good match for the salty pro-vel. The texture is crisp and chewy -- like 'crackerbread' pizza...not my most favorite style of 'za.
Well, as they say, when in Rome....
I love you. I love you. I love you.
I am flying back home for Thanksgiving.
Soon, my love, soon.
I never understood the Imo's bandwagon.
You know what it tastes like?
When I was a kid, my babysitter would have "pizza day". That meant we put ketchup and american cheese on English muffins and toasted it in the oven. Sometimes we even added pepperoni.
If you cut the English muffin in half to make it a thinner slice, it's almost exactly like Imo's.
Q: What's grosser than gross?
A: Imo's!
Just because you put a cheese-like substance on a bread-like substance doesn't mean you have made a pizza.
Locals love this place. I honestly doubt you're reading this if you aren't a local. Then again, if you are a local, you should already know about this place and have no need to read this. Eh either way locals love this place. I say you've gotta try it for yourself. It's cheap and quick and they even have a drive through window. I didn't realize you could make pizza that fast, but who knows! I found it kinda runny, but still quite yummy! Now I just hope I don't get beat up for my four star review.
